f DIANA, BY HER SISTER

PRINCESS Diana's sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale is to break her
silence about her in a new book.

Set to become a best-seller, it has been commissioned by the Diana,
Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

The executors of the princess's estate, who include Lady Sarah and
Diana's mother, Frances Shand Kydd, have authorised a book about her
for the first time.

Focusing on Diana's humanitarian work, it will contain with her
family and previously unseen pictures. It is due to be published in
the autumn next year and is likely to make thousands of pounds for
the charity. Lady Sarah is president of the memorial fund set up
after Diana's death. It has already handed out ?50million.

Spokeswoman Jo Bexley confirmed that Lady Sarah has co-operated with
the book. She said: "There are hundreds of books about the princess,
but this is the first time one has been authorised by her estate.

"This will be a story that hasn't been told. In all the books that
have been written, few have looked properly at the impact of her
charity work."

Lady Sarah has never spoken publicly about Diana since her death. She
is nursing her eldest daughter, Emily, 19, who has a rare form of
cancer.

Feminist writer Ros Coward is to be the book's author and Nelson
Mandela has been asked to write the foreword.

Ros said: "There are so many unpleasant things that have been written
about Princess Diana, the time has come to remember this special and
positive aspect of her life. I want to give an authentic view of her
charitable work and want to champion her causes so that her memory is
preserved."

She may be seen as an unusual choice because she has never written a
royal book before and has criticised Prince Charles and Camilla
Parker Bowles in newspaper articles.

The book will be heavily marketed in America, Japan, Australia and
New Zealand.

- PRINCE Charles is turning back the clock to 1953 for the party
where Camilla Parker Bowles will dine with the Queen and Prince
Philip. All of the royal family have been invited to the themed
dinner at Clarence House next Monday to celebrate the 50th
anniversary of the Queen's coronation. It will be the first time
Camilla has sat down to dinner with Charles's mother and other senior
royals.
