And it is truly needed now for those on the front line of the pandemic.

Macrobug67

Oh, yeah.  I?m seeing a lot of mental health these days.

What Kate and Wills are doing with their charities and programs truly impresses me.  Over the years, they are bringing in other charities and fleshing out the original concept.   I think they are really starting to make an impact.  I like this idea of royals more than cutting ribbons.  What Anne does is bread and butter Royal stuff and she is an amazing workhorse.  But what K and W are doing will have a lasting effect.

Hmmm seems like William chose a new room for his Zoom meeting today. Typically the one he uses has sand colored walls.

Nightowl

Yes, and I love those dark green walls and would love to see the full picture of that oil painting behind him. Wonder if the room is a library in their home?  He is really on the ball with his work on mental health in sports and it is great to see.

Watch as Jesse Lingard and Maya Jama sit down for a candid, honest and open conversation on mental health. Manchester United and England midfielder, Jesse talks about the pressure to perform and how a simple conversation felt like a weight lifting when his mum had depression and he had to step up and support his family. TV and radio broadcaster Maya Jama talks through a spiral of events from her youth and how she experiences and manages her anxiety.

Heads Up is a season-long campaign, harnessing the power and influence of football to change the conversation on mental health. Through the Heads Up #SoundOfSupport series, we will keep breaking the silence around mental health ? showing that talking about how we feel and what we?re going through is more important than ever ? and encouraging everyone everywhere to make their support heard by those who need it.

Royal Foundation Taskforce on the Prevention of Cyberbullying

In response to an increase in tragic consequences resulting from cyberbullying, The Duke of Cambridge brought together leading tech companies, NGOs and independent advisers in a Taskforce chaired by Brent Hoberman CBE, to tackle this critical issue. ABA are very proud to be members of this taskforce.

About
The Taskforce?s Action Plan was launched during Anti-Bullying Week in November 2017 and includes safety guidelines to ensure children and young people are kept safe on social media and gaming platforms, alongside a commitment to improve the awareness and understanding of the issue amongst children, parents and other influential adults. The Taskforce is also piloting the provision of emotional support at the point of reporting content within Facebook and Snapchat.

Through my work on mental health, I have spent time getting to know parents and children for whom the impact of online bullying has been devastating. And as a parent myself, I understand the sense of loss and anger of those particular families who have lost children after they were the targets of campaigns of harassment.

Prince William describes his mental health crisis  in his Apple podcast. It appears that this was brought on  in 2017 after William assisted in an emergency call while working for  East Anglia Air Ambulance. A young boy who is close in age to George was seriously injured and suffered brain damage.  :(

The Cambridges and Prince Harry launched Heads Together in on May 16, 2017. Prince Harry was very candid about discussing his own mental health concerns and subsequently Catherine and William have also shared their own personal stories regarding their own mental health. However I believe that this is the first time that William has gone into more detail. I'd suspected that William's had to do with what he and the EAAA team were encountering during calls.

Prince William's mental health crisis: Duke reveals he was engulfed by a dark cloud of depression | Daily Mail Online

QuotePrince William has revealed that he was engulfed by a dark cloud of anguish and depression after witnessing the aftermath of a devastating accident.

In a remarkable display of candour, the Duke vividly describes how his torment left him feeling as if 'the whole world was dying'.

His mental health crisis came after he helped to save the life of a gravely injured boy only a few years older than his son, Prince George, while working as a helicopter pilot for the air ambulance service.

In an extraordinarily frank podcast to be released tomorrow, the future King describes how he was deeply affected by what he experienced that day.

Overwhelmed by depressive feelings, he says it was as if 'something had changed' inside him.

Weeks later his despair intensified. As he describes it, it was 'like someone had put a key in a lock and opened it without me giving permission to do that'.

He adds: 'You just feel everyone's pain, everyone's suffering. And that's not me. I've never felt that before.
The Prince describes how talking to colleagues and meeting the boy's family enabled him to conquer his demons over time.

It is understood that William was referring to a car accident which left five-year-old Bobby Hughes brain damaged in 2017.

Last night, the boy's mother, Carly, 40, said: 'William told us how it affected him as a father and how he felt our pain.'

'He's amazing, a credit to our country... I've looked into his eyes and, genuinely, he has got a kind heart.'

The Prince gave a remarkable insight into his state of mind in an intimate 38-minute programme entitled Prince William: Time To Walk, recorded for an Apple audio series in which celebrities share memories and pick three favourite songs while taking a stroll.'

The late Diana, Princess of Wales was an early supporter of the Child Bereavement trust which was launched in 1994  Her good friend Julia Samuel was the founder of the trust. Had Diana lived, I believe that she would have continued to work with the organization. Julia maintained a close relationship to the Wales brothers after Diana's death and she was present at the 2021 unveiling of the Diana statue at Kensington Palace. Her eldest son asked Julia to be one of the Godmothers for Prince George.
