Archduke Joseph Francis of Austria was born in Brunn, Bohemia, Austrian Empire on March 28, 1895.
He was given the names of Joseph Francis Leopold Anton Ignatius Maria.   
His mother was Princess Auguste Maria of Bavaria.   
Archduke Joseph Francis' father was Archduke Joseph August of Austria. Joseph August was the Palatine of Hungary. He was briefly considered as a possible King of Hungary in 1919-1920. 
Joseph Francis was a potential crown prince of Hungary.     
He died on September 25, 1957.
