An upbeat Princess Royal delighted staff at Tewkesbury Community Hospital by officially opening it.
Arriving at 10.25am yesterday in driving wind and rain, Princess Anne met various members of staff, civic dignitaries and some patients during an hour-long visit to the £10 million Barton Road facility.
After chatting to people during a guided tour, the princess unveiled a plaque to mark the opening.
She acknowledged that the hospital, which opened for business in October 2013, had been open for some time and said she assumed it had overcome any teething problems.
