Title: The Wales' Children's birthdays-All Years
Post by: PrincessOfPeace on June 30, 2014, 10:32:39 AM
A thread to discuss the Cambridge children's birthdays and to share those birthday photos :bday10:

Quote01 JULY 2014

The first 12 months of a baby's life are full of exciting milestones – the first smile, first laugh, first tooth – every week brings something new. As he approaches his first birthday, Prince George has lived all of these, like any other tot his age.

However, being a royal baby – the little future King has a list of unique milestones which distinguish him from others of his generation. First visit from the Queen, debut in front of the world's press or first official portrait – these events are certainly not about to be written down in baby books across the UK by proud parents keen to record their child's first year of life.

QuoteAs Prince George prepares to celebrate his first birthday, Vanity Fair contributor Katie Nicholl speaks to palace insiders about how the prince has become a media star, a style icon, and a P.R. triumph. Reporting on how their son has upended William's and Kate's lives, Nicholl gives a behind-the-scenes look at George's first year, the search for their new nanny, the palace redecoration, and the family's New Zealand and Australian adventures.

On George's colicky beginnings: Kate expressed relief that George behaved well during his first few public appearances. Nicholl reports that for the first few months the prince cried loudly and frequently, and he was not sleeping through the night. Nanny Jessie Webb tried hard to get him into a routine, but the baby prince, who was still breastfeeding, was permanently hungry. Nicholl reveals that it was only in the new year, when Kate introduced solids, that George finally slept through the night.

On finding their new nanny: Kate made inquiries about recruiting a full-time nanny after Nanny Jessie explained that she was not up to traveling to New Zealand and Australia with George, Nicholl reports. The couple was reluctant to use an agency, and Spanish-born Maria Teresa Turrion Borallo was recommended by a friend. Her credentials include experience in self-defense, high-speed driving, and dealing with paparazzi. She spent a week bonding with George at Kate's family home in March under the watchful eyes of the Middleton grandparents, while Will and Kate jetted off to the Maldives for a second honeymoon.

QuoteCommemorative Coin Marks Birthday

Prince George of Cambridge's first birthday is being marked with a commemorative £5 coin.  The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's young son is the first member of the royal family to have his first birthday honoured with a new UK coin.

William and Kate, along with George's great-grandmother the Queen and Chancellor George Osborne approved the design of the sterling silver piece, which bears the heraldic royal arms and the year 2014.

Shane Bissett, director of commemorative coin and bullion at the Royal Mint, said: "As Prince George of Cambridge reaches the significant milestone of turning one year old, we felt there could be no more fitting design to mark the first birthday of our future king than the royal arms - the arms of the monarch - minted in honour of the future heir to the throne.

"The choice of a silver coin is significant too as the precious metal is closely associated with newborn babies, as crossing the palm of a newborn baby with silver is a way to wish them wealth and good health throughout their life, whilst the £5 coin is a favourite for royal celebrations."

Prince George Covers People Magazine For 1st Birthday

QuoteNext up, Vogue? People magazine has announced that Prince George has landed its cover for the week of his July 22 birthday, just a week after Vanity Fair announced that Prince George covers its August issue.

Like the Vanity Fair cover, the People cover features a photo of George on the Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand in April. Unlike Vanity Fair, People leaves George's parents Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge out of the photo, putting the focus completely on the royal baby - except for a small inset photo of Kate holding George.

QuoteNow Prince George Gets Magazine Photoshop Treatment: Royal baby graces the cover of People with noticeably redder lips, whiter eyes and fixed brow

Prince George is one cute baby, but apparently not cherubic enough to make it on the cover of People without a little photoshopping.  The young royal is the coverboy of this week's magazine in honor of his first birthday, and the staff chose to use a picture taken while he was touring Australia earlier this year.

But when compared to the original photo, the prince seems to have much redder lips. The whites of his eyes also appear whiter in the new version, and one of his eyebrows has also been smoothed.

The magazine has since issued a statement to MailOnline denying any retouching.  'PEOPLE did not alter the looks of Prince George on our cover in any way.  Some areas may have picked up saturation during the press run, further enhanced by the glossy paper quality,' a spokesman for the magazine said.

This article should be a happy one, it is about a child's birthday but the comments are so moderated in advance that only a few have been approved. It is sad that George's parents have let their reputations sink so low, this is a far cry from their wedding goodwill... George may be slaying republicans but he is not doing much for William and Kate...

Also, I can't see Zara going to Middleton Manor to sit on bean bags and eat ice-cream with the Middletons. If there is a party at KP I hope Prince Charles and Harry are able to be there.

QuoteOne is One Year Old! Prince George Set for First Birthday Bash

The invitations to the world's most exclusive first birthday party have been sent out and presents purchased for the guest of honour.

Surrounded by his family and his parents' closest friends, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge will be feted at a discreet celebration on Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of his birthday, as the Court Circular, the Palace's daily record of royal events, will no doubt solemnly describe it.  Toddling across the floor and  displaying his latest trick – opening and closing doors – the future king will be ready for a spot of mischief.

"I think George will be running faster than me very soon," Prince William said this week in Coventry.

One day his son's hellraising may not go unnoticed but at this event he can rely on the guests to keep shtum, unless his proud parents feel like sharing a few funny tales with people afterwards.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's office will mark the milestone by releasing three new pictures of George in the coming days.

Prince George's first birthday scrapbook

As the future heir to the British throne nears his birthday, we look back at some of our fondest moment from his first year

As Prince George nears his birthday, we look back at a few of our favourite memories from his first year.

Born at 4.24pm on July 22, 2013 Prince George weighed 8lb 6oz. Kate emerged from Saint Mary's Hospital, cradling the heir to the throne in her arms, with a beaming Prince William at her side.

Quote
http://www.people.com/people/shared/insider/article/0,,20835413,00.html

This time last year, I was well into my third week of the Great Kate Wait. In a hundreds-strong throng of reporters from around the world, I crouched on the road and fixed my eyes on the famous wooden doors of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital, Paddington, London. It was there that 31 years earlier Prince Charles and Princess Diana presented their firstborn son and heir, Prince William, to a besotted British public. Now, it was William and Kate's turn to introduce their baby — a boy, not yet named when they stepped out to cheers on the afternoon of July 23, a day after the world's most watched pregnancy culminated in a safe and joyous birth.

As soon as she stepped out, the oohing and aahing began. Kate looked radiant, proudly displaying her post-birth "mummy tummy" (that would disappear in record short time) in a polka-dotted Jenny Packham frock, smiling as if she hadn't a care in the world. I've since learned she was nervous; she told friends the warm smiles of the nurses and hospital staff kept her calm for her biggest public moment since the 2011 royal wedding. William, looking happy and more emotional than I'd ever seen him, pronounced his son "a bonny lad" with a "good pair of lungs." And then there, in the middle of the impromptu press conference, we saw it — for any other infant, a reflexive gesture of self-comfort. But when this prince raised hands to face, it was undeniably his first royal wave.

He also shares that Will & Kate had a night nurse.  :hmm: So much for not having a nanny right away! (As said here a year ago: Royal baby: Why Kate Middleton and Prince William WON'T have a Royal nanny | Mail Online (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2373721/Royal-baby-Why-Kate-Middleton-Prince-William-WONT-Royal-nanny.html) )

^^^My take is that they didn't intend to have a night nurse or nanny (The two are considered to be different.) until his sleep issues became a real issue with the parents/household.

I've read that George was not sleeping through the night until solids were introduced. For breastfeeding mothers the current advice in the U.S. is to introduce them at six months and not before.

QuoteIt's tricky to uphold Royal traditions when you're not quite one – but Prince George has proved himself more than equal to the nation's favourite: the walkabout.

Invented by the Queen on an overseas tour in 1970 to ensure she was seen by her fans, it's been an essential part of the Royal repertoire ever since.

And now, in a portrait released to mark his first birthday on Tuesday, the third in line to the throne has shown he's learned an early lesson from his great grandmother.

What a year the little prince has had, enchanting everyone from Windsor to the Antipodes

QuotePrince George will be one year old this week. What a year he has had. Born at 4.24pm on July 22 2013, the baby who would be king weighed 8lb 6oz. He wore a replica of the 172-year-old royal christening robe at his christening, where he was praised for being so well-behaved. Prince George showed a little more truculence during the famous playdate on the royal tour of New Zealand – towering over the other children and stealing one or two of their toys. His mother hovered about protectively, occasionally wiping a dab of drool from his chin. And then there were his first public steps at the Cirencester Park Polo Club, Gloucestershire. A little awkward, perhaps, but these things take time.

The way some people are reacting, you'd think no child ever walked at the age of one before :orchid:

My niece was 10.5 months when she started walking.  In fact, most babies start walking between 9-12 months.  So George is perfectly "normal" for walking at this age.  Of course, because he's the future King, everything he does is so much "more" than everyone else.

I agree with you completely, Lothwen. I was just pointing out that he started walking at eleven months or after, since he was not walking yet on Father's Day. It's normal, but certainly not early, extraordinary or remarkable.

Most development tables have walking at 18 months.  After that there may be a concern.  Most kidlets coming in for their 1 year check are either walking, cruising or taking steps with their hands held.  I've seen 8 month olds standing (my eldest nephew was one of them.  But he didn't actually walk until a year).  I have seen kids that never crawl.  They just get up and go.  Others that don't even stand until almost two.  By 2 or 3 most are all caught up and onto the next set of milestones.

Kids develop at their own pace.  And being able to do something early or late is usually no indicator of intellect or "level of superiority"

One Is One: Prince George's First Birthday

QuoteWilliam and Kate have released two new family photographs to mark Prince George's first birthday and have thanked everyone in the past year for their "warm and generous wishes".

Taken in recent weeks at the Natural History Museum's Sensational Butterflies exhibition, the photos show the one-year-old reaching out, seemingly mesmerised by the butterflies around him.

In the second of two portraits, the third-in-line to the throne is reaching out to touch a butterfly which had landed on his father's hand.

And like most mums, the Duchess of Cambridge seems completely at ease with a large patch of dribble her son had deposited on her shoulder.

On Saturday, Kensington Palace released a third photo from the Cambridge family outing to the museum, for whom the Duchess is Patron.

It showed the future king walking unaided in a pair of blue dungarees.

In one of two new photographs issued to mark his first birthday today, Prince George can be seen pointing and gazing intently at the delicate creature which has landed on his father's hand.

His mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, cuddles her young son proudly – keeping a firm grip around his waist, just in case the inquisitive youngster should make a grab for it.

QuoteHE has only just learned to walk but on his first birthday Prince George is already changing the way people in Britain view their monarchy.

As new photographs are published tonight to mark the toddler turning one, the boy who will one day be King has been credited with winning new support for the Royal Family from some who have previously held a negative view of the institution.

Around a quarter of all Britons - 24 per cent - say they now have a more positive view of the Royal Family because of him, with only two per cent saying they are more negative, according to a survey by Viewsbank.

The weighted online survey of 1,025 adults carried out this month suggested that across the country some 2.1 million people who previously had a negative image of the royals now claim to have a positive one as a result of the new third in line to the throne.

Among the converts are a younger generation, with 30 per cent of those aged 18 to 24 year saying they felt more positive about the monarchy and 31 per cent of 25 to 34 year olds, compared to only 20 per cent of those aged over 65.

QuoteRoyals Release New Prince George Photos for First Birthday

By George, how he's grown!

Britain's royal family released two more new official photos of Prince George -- who is now walking -- on Monday, a day ahead of his first birthday.

In one of the photos, taken July 2 at the Sensational Butterflies exhibition at London's Natural History Museum, George -- born July 22, 2013 -- is seen with his parents, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, sitting on his mother's lap and marveling at a butterfly perched on his father's finger. In the other, he's held by Kate and appears to be fascinated by another of the insects fluttering by.

And how are the royals celebrating George's birthday? The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be marking the day with family and friends at their Kensington Palace home on Tuesday. Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly expected to attend the celebrations for her great-grandson, as will Prince Harry and the Middleton family. Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, won't be in attendance as they are in Scotland for their annual summer visit.

Quote(CNN) -- Prince George isn't your average one year old. He started walking before he was one. Oh, and, he's going to be king -- of 16 countries. I had to remind myself occasionally of that latter fact as I stood outside the hospital in London where the he was born... for a week before he was born.

It went against my journalistic instinct to report on a story that hadn't happened yet but if I didn't appear regularly on air, giving an update about what hadn't happened, then the assumption was that it had and rumours would start which I would have to come back on air to refute. If you can't beat them, join them.

When "the royal baby" did emerge, there was a collective sense of relief and excitement among the assembled media. He was already one of the biggest stars in the world and we didn't even know his name.

The new pictures are really lovely.  George looks very happy watching the butterflies, and W&K look thrilled as well.  I think the decision to take the pictures at one of Kate's patronages was a really great one -- good publicity for the Natural History Museum and a nice idea to begin sharing Kate's patronages with George at a very early age.

George is quite cute! He looks, however, as if he might have Pippa's rather flat, plate-like shaped face with his father's nose, when he's older. Funnily enough, in the third photo, (where the three are sitting down and the unfortunate butterfly is about to be grabbed by George) I saw a resemblance to Harry in William's face or expression for the first time! It's weird because the brothers don't look alike at all.

Agreed.

But if people are really that willing to drink the Kool-Aid, then I say they deserve to keep the monarchy, and continue to pay for William and Kate to have their two homes that have been remolded to death while  the two of them laze about while William decides what he wants to do when he grows up

Gotcha

Macro, there was an article on the Daily Mail website that pointed out that most babies "aren't sure of themselves" with walking until they are 16 months old.  In my experiences, that's never been the case.

Please, please, please say something to your pediatrician if you notice that your child appears to be losing some developmental milestones after they've achieved them. Especially if it involves language development, eye contact, and social interaction. This could be indicators of an autism spectrum disorder. Early intervention can be provided to toddlers!

QuoteQueen Is Expected to Attend Prince George's Birthday Party

The Queen is expected to attend Prince George's birthday party, while the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are expected to be otherwise engaged.  Following the release of an official picture of Prince George to mark his first birthday, speculation has been growing about the details of his "private" birthday party.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge be throwing the party at their Kensington Palace apartment.  The Queen is expected to attend, though Clarence House have denied claims that she will be the "guest of honour".

Clarence House has also distanced itself from rumours that George's grandmother, Carole Middleton, hosted a rival Peter Rabbit-themed party on Friday at their home outside Bucklebury in Berkshire.

QuotePrince George's First Birthday: Don't Send Gifts for the Future King

His parents have insisted they do not want Prince George to be showered with gifts on his first birthday on Tuesday, a plea that appears to be well justified given that insiders have said he has received 4,000 gifts since he was born.

In the past 12 months, the Prince has been given everything from an Aston Villa hat to a fattened bull. Some were sent to Kensington Palace as christening gifts from members of the public, others have been given to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during walkabouts, and yet more have been official gifts from overseas countries.

To date, presents have been sent from 48 countries, though not all of them could be put in the post. The chief minister of Australia's Northern Territory named a crocodile after the Prince, to whom it now officially belongs, and the Dudley Zoological Gardens in the West Midlands named three meerkats George, Alexander and Louis — the prince's middle names — after they were adopted on his behalf. In Kenya, the Samburu people donated a fattened black bull and a goat. The bull will be used to start a new "royal herd" in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

QuoteIt's good to be a future king — as in Prince George of Cambridge, the toast of the world as he turns a year old on July 22.

The adorable and adored third-in-line to the British throne is even more a focus of obsessive interest today than he was when he arrived on Planet Mania last year, to be met by a cheering, roaring, sweating mob of media people and a delighted royal family

QuoteOn this day last year, Prince George was welcomed into the world at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London and the adorable young Royal, who will almost definitely rule this country one day, has been charming us ever since.

The world has watched the young prince growing up, from his first public appearance the day after he was born, to his first royal tour when he eclipsed his parents and stole the hearts of royal fans in New Zealand and Australia.

As Prince George celebrates his first birthday today, FEMAIL takes a look back on a year in the life of the trendsetting young Royal.

Prince George is already one of the most popular members of the Royal family because every parent can relate to him

QuoteBeing born into the Royal family guarantees many things: privilege, security and spectacular wealth to name just three. But in their first year, royal babies are more equal to their peers than they will be ever again, which perhaps explains the world's love affair with Prince George.

Palaces, limousines and bodyguards mean nothing to an infant. He craves only attention, stimulation and regular feeds, just like every other baby that has ever lived. His parents have to make the same day-to-day decisions as all mothers and fathers, from what kind of food he eats to the brand of nappies, car seats and prams he uses.

We may not have much in common with the Queen, but every parent can relate to Prince George, who celebrates his first birthday today. Anyone with children of a similar age will bow to the inevitable temptation to measure their own baby's development alongside the yardstick of the future king. And anyone who does so will probably have been left with slight feelings of inadequacy.

QuoteA Guest List Fit for a Prince! The Queen Joins Harry, Zara and Kate at Kensington Palace (and Granny Middleton Is There, Too)

The cake was iced, the sandwiches made and the balloons blown up and hanging from the ceiling. All that was needed was the guests and with Prince George the birthday boy, they were never going to be ordinary.

The most important guest was his great-grandmother, the Queen, who could be seen perched in the back seat of her car as she was driven through the gates of Kensington Palace in London, and spent 50 minutes with her great-grandson.

Looking summery in a floral patterned dress and her trademark pearls with bright red lipsick, the Queen looked delighted to be attending - and even got her car to slow down as it drove past the cheering crowds that lined the route to the palace.

Earlier in the day Kate, accompanied by her nanny, Maria Borallo, and a police protection officer, drove George to Buckingham Palace so the little prince could see his great-grandfather, Prince Philip, who was unable to attend the party due to work commitments.

Arriving at around 11am, they spent an hour at the Queen's official residence and as they were inside the band of the Irish Guards played a tuneful rendition of Happy Birthday in honour of George's big day.

QuoteGeorge's parents, William and Kate, were joined by his uncle, Prince Harry, his godparents, and other key people in his life, including his Spanish nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo and her predecessor, Jessie Webb.

Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton arrived in separate Range Rovers, while her siblings James and Pippa turned up in an F-type Jaguar sports car.

Among the other guests were William's cousin Zara Phillips, one of George's godmothers, and her husband Mike Tindall; Kate's old schoolfriend Emilia Jardine-Paterson, who is another godmother; and Oliver Baker, one of his godfathers.

William and Kate's former principal private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, another of George's godfathers, walked in casually, carrying a present and waving to journalists outside the palace gates.

QuoteWhat do you get a king in the making for his birthday? Thankfully the Obamas weren't short of a few good ideas.
The President and his family sent the newborn Prince George a stunning hand-made rocking horse as well a blanket made from the finest alpaca wool to celebrate his birth last year.
Sporting a saddle embossed with the presidential seal, the wooden rocking horse came with a polo mallet with a head made from the branch of an oak tree that once stood on the south lawn of the White House.

The leaders of countries routinely give gifts to one another as a gesture of friendship.  That's just good diplomacy.  I'm sure the most that rocking horse cost was a few thousand dollars; given that the U.S. spends something close to $56 billion on foreign aid and diplomacy each year, that isn't even a drop in the bucket.

Don't be so negative; I think it was a lovely gesture.  Look at it this way...you probably wish you didn't have to pay for 75% of the government's expenditures!

In all seriousness, the instructor may have requested that the people most likely to be in the pool with George be involved so they could be taught how to safely work with a toddler who is learning to swim. Or Maria is the instructor and she's working with mother and child.

It's also possible that Kate likes to get a few laps in for exercise, in which case I'd expect her to not want George crawling around unsupervised.
Another possibility: Kate combines George's weekly swimming lessons with a meeting with the queen (like my manager and I having our weekly 1on1)

So that's 3 valid possibilities that are at least as likely as the nanny being there saying anything at all about her parenting.

QuoteNew photo released of Princess Charlotte

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a new photo of their daughter Princess Charlotte ahead of her 2nd birthday tomorrow. The photo was taken in April by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, at their home in Norfolk. In addition to the photo, the Kensington Palace Twitter account posted:

TRH would like to thank everyone for the lovely messages they have received & hope that everyone enjoys this photograph as much as they do.

Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge was born at 8.34 in the morning on Saturday, 2 May 2015 at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London. She weighed in at 8lbs 3oz and was delivered just two and half hours after her mother was admitted to hospital.

QuoteA look back to the day Princess Charlotte was born

At 08:34 in the morning on Saturday, 2 May 2015, Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed the baby princess the world had been waiting for.

Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge weighed in at 8lbs 3oz and was delivered only two and a half hours after her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, was admitted to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.

Appropriately, the modern Princess's birth was announced by Kensington Palace on Twitter when they tweeted to the world that: 'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.' The tweet quickly garnered more than 43,000 retweets and more than 40,000 likes.

A sad reality in today's world and I've read comments targeting other royal children in the NL, Belgium, Spain, Denmark, etc...many,many times.

I think the worst comments of that nature I read were those on Grace van Cutsem, the little bridesmaid to Kate who hated the noise of the crowds while on the BP balcony. They were vile and many implied the little girl had a mental condition. People on social media sit on their computers and write the nastiest most libellous stuff they can sometimes, simply because they can. It's definitely the downside of Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, blogs and the rest, and when the target is a small child like Grace or Charlotte it's even more reprehensible.

Those comments about Grace were awful, but I have to say that some of the worst lately are about the Princess of Orange.

Yes, the young Princess is, like her parents, sturdy in physique. However, to read the comments you would think she was built like a carthorse. There were remarks on another forum years ago about the mental condition of Prince Christian of Denmark, judged on photos of him. Far too many people have too much time on their hands!

Yes, and Harry will get the birthday bells and flags as a son of the Sovereign in the next reign, just as the Queen's children get them now.

I agree. I've felt he resembled his grandfather Middleton since we was about three. It will be interesting to see how much the Windsor genes emerge as he grows, if they do. They are strong genes because the Windsors are so related. Charles has his grandfather, George VI's, profile. Harry reminds many of us of his great, great grandmother Queen Mary - indicating a very strong family gene pool. But right now at least, George looks very much like Michael Middleton.

I have never seen a pic of Mike Middleton at George's age.. so I can't see a resemblance. I think he has Will's blond hair and something of K's features

I believe that George also has the Middleton hair texture which is thick and wavy when compared to William's thinner and finer hair.

They will have a wonderful time.  I bet the parents of the St Thomas Battersea pupils, all of George's classmates are super exited to be going to Kensington Palace next week.

One thinks a ''small''leakage from Charles patronage 'Magic Circle' is sufficient without giving the exact date of the pinata party.  :random2: :bday10: :bdaycake:

A very happy birthday and a Aha.

The Aha is excellent team work strategy from BP and KP, including the staff that are still working at the Sandringham Visitor Centre; Coffee shop has a big kitchen (gift shop is closed). They quietly have been working 5 weeks running, delivering 1000 meals a week and decided all together to publicly use Charlotte's bday occasion, Lovely to see the children learning about charity giving to the vulnerable, caring since young age. It's the best way to explain. Doing rather than talking.

Meals on Wheels is just One of the charities that is receiving funds from the billionaire donors that was mentioned a few weeks ago (Tatler magazine, William and Kate Fundraising, April 2020 edition) that called William and Kate and told them that they want to give their tax deducted charity moneys to their foundation and to whatever the couple lead and want to do with it. The couple had said to the B's that anything so far having to do with Covid19 is priority.  Later their projects.

Good to see that the Sandringham Coffee Shop kitchen and its staff which would have normally been serving guests visiting the estate are still being utilized. Apparently the most of the  family spent (Louis stayed home) about two and a half hours making deliveries.

QuoteThe entire family helped out with a local initiative started by the monarch's staff, who have been preparing and delivering meals for pensioners and the vulnerable in the area during the lockdown.

Around 1,000 meals were dispensed in the first week alone, and the scheme has been running for five weeks so far.

This time the Cambridges, all keen cooks, rustled up some home-made pasta which they separated into 12 large bags and tied up with raffia to add to the food parcels. Sources said all the children ? even little Louis, two ? were involved.

The following day, the family ? Charlotte smartly dressed in a black and white checked dress with grey tights and black Mary Jane shoes ? then helped to load bags of fresh produce into a van from the Sandringham Visitors' Centre ready for delivery.

Sources say William, Kate, Charlotte and George spent two and a half hours driving around the area delivering food to those in need.

The pictures are wonderful, and I have seen the similarity to Sarah before. So odd, because Sarah always seemed to look more like her father than the Windsors. It must be a coincidence, but it has shown up before.  Meanwhile, the RF have quietly been going about their good deeds, which sets a good example and shows the British people that they are valued. A win-win.

Where do you think the dark eyes of all the Cambridge children come from? Not Diana or the Windsors. And William never had a gap between his front teeth or thick wavy hair. The shape of the nose and the width of the face is the same as Michael?s as well. And the Middleton kids, including James, all had lighter hair as children than they have now.

I've ALWAYS thought George looked more like Grandfather Middleton, but of course children are a combination of genes from both families. In this picture I noticed his lips and the way the middle of his lower mouth juts downward with that grin. Both of these characteristics are from his father.  Prince Edward and Princess Charlotte also have these distinctive lips, which come from HM.  It was fun to see a Mountbatten Windsor similarity in this picture for the first time.

Hair color is really a minor detail in appearance. Among other things it is likely to darken with time. Kate's was much lighter when younger.

Any doubt that George and Louis look like Mike, disappears when you see the one photo of Arthur. The three male cousins look like brothers. Louis has a tiny bit of Windsor in him.

:bday7:

Yes, Happy Birthday George! He?s developing his father?s mouth and teeth. However the upper part of George?s face is pure Mike Middleton. George will also be (if he comes to the throne) the first brown eyed monarch since Charles II. I just think genetics are so strange sometimes. Like how Queen Mary?s eyes have passed down through the family, via the Queen, Charles, Harry etc.

Prince George really resembles dad, and lately when he has been at some events in a suit and tie, he is really learning from dad and I bet dad is his hero in many ways.  William really lucked out with Catherine and they have such a loving family.  Catherine really hit it with her interests in early childhood development as she and William are really already teaching and training George about his future in small ways right now.

So far, every Charlotte birthday, the media and social media post pictures of her together with some past or present British royal. So, yes I agree that out of ''all'' the compare and contrasting, it's William and Lady Sara Chatto, and quite a few facial expressions of the late QEII.  Her brothers look more Middleton.

Charlotte is a beautiful little girl, and from what we know, certainly seems intelligent, responsible, and kind.  I see a lot of William in her.

ETA that I think George looks a great deal like Michael Middleton and Louis seems to be a mix of both sides of the family.

George is ten! Hardly possible! He has certainly grown up a lot in the last couple of years and looks cheerful and happy.. He still to me very much resembles Kate?s father. I think it?s the nose and eyes.

George?s destiny is sorted for him, of course.I hope he does some sort of military training in spite of recent media speculation that he might not. Monarchs have done so for centuries and no sovereign in the modern era has led a purely civilian life. They are after all C in C of the Armed Forces when they succeed to the Throne. It might be fore shortened however. Then University, then fulltime royal duties in his later twenties. God, what a fate!

A very Happy Birthday to George!   :bday:

I can't believe how grown up he looks, and very handsome too.  I too think he resembles Catherine's father, but there was a picture of George and William not long ago, I think at a sporting event, and for the first time I could see a lot of William in George.
