Additionally, one needs to check podcast charts by location worldwide.  IF a i.e. UK podcast is 'within the number ranking' target for UK market, it will remain part of the economic continuity but has to be produced in the UK Spotify offices.  This part is the 'source' let's call it speculation from the NYPost article.  Their source, but it does make sense.

Meghan Markle?s ?Archetypes? Podcast at Spotify Won?t Be Renewed - WSJ

Official confirmation,

?The team behind #Archetypes remain proud of the podcast they created at Spotify. Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform,? a spokeswoman for the couple?s Archewell Productions media company said.?

And it was something to be proud of, aside from amazing reviews (and acknowledging those who didn't like it and those who spread misinformation bout it. As well as the difference in reporting in American and other media)

image is big

UK Media: Meghan Markle attacks Hollywood caricatures of Asian women in film.

US Media: Meghan Markle discusses "dragon lady" portrayal in Hollywood in her latest podcast episode.

The second one actually reflected the content of the podcast.

That being said, even if not on Spotify, I do hope Archetypes does appear again because it did great and I enjoyed listening to it.

And I said this because I'd like to clear up some mis-information on the numbers for Meghan's podcast.

One, to compare Joe Rogan (who still podcasting) to one that ended in November of last year and had a way shorter run overall (Meghan) in an attempt to put her down is...ehhhh at best. While the media gleefully calls out her dropping to 100 after months of silence is something. They don't ever go in depth on how well it did as it was airing....does speak to something. But, they tuned in every week so so views for Meghan.

It's an attempted put down that Joe Rogan is the one who makes money, which can be true but acting if unseating a man who was no.1 for 3 years straight, even if it was only for a moment wasn't something in it'self. Spotify got out of Meghan, what they needed. Which was a hit show and it was a hit.

So, it wasn't no.1 for one week/episode, it was for two and then only dropped down to two as of Sep. 1st. of last year. And that was good for a podcast that did a cold drop. A deal was announced, then months, then nothing and then a cold drop. What's notable about that, the fact that the people around her had more respect not to leak

Meghan Markle Podcast 'Archetypes' No. 1 on Spotify for Second Week - Variety

Unpon debuting it hit No.1 in UK, US and Canada (with the first doing being core. One because well...America and the other because they love to be involved with Meghan on one hand and say they aren't with the other)

https://twitter.com/TvKhaleesi/status/1564837180585000962

Even with the two week hiatus due to....the Queen, and no new episodes (which she should've released anyway) Archetypes was still in the top ten in 5 countries.

https://twitter.com/royal_suitor/status/1574651305997398017

At one point, No.2 in India, a mostly non-english (english and hindi spoken the most, correct if wrong)  speaking, non-core market

https://twitter.com/larkdeta/status/1583141656840220674

Even if gone, this what Dawn Ostroff had to say,

Spotify: il futuro della pubblicit? online ? nei podcast - La Stampa

and this is a good thread that followed charts for the most part:

https://twitter.com/royal_suitor/status/1574651305997398017

I'll just do some notable insights, click for full thread

So, Archetypes rose in in France & Norway, at one point No.3 in India without confirmation that Deepika Padukone as a guest (then rose to no.2)

Hitting No.1 in Hong Kong

Hit No.1 in 10 Markets.

Moved up in Portugal

and as of the last week,

With the 7th episode due tomorrow, #Archetypes is holding steady on the charts among the top 10 podcasts in 5 countries. It?s the No. 1 Society & Culture podcast in the US which is why it generates so many off-air convos.

Top 10 - US (7), India (4), Canada (4), UK (10), NZ (10)

So renewal or not, no.1 for constant weeks or not and joe rogan or not. Archetypes did extremely well, even with an what I feel was an un-needed pause. Archetypes did well, won it's awards and etc.

So now,

At the end of season 1, Meghan and the #Archetypes team eluded to opportunities to take the conversation into other formats. I?ll be interested to see if their next move isn?t just about finding a new podcast home for the series but is about extending beyond audio streaming.

And I feel the same as above.

#22 then out of the top 100....one hit wonder that wasn't worth USD 18 Million, because if it was the Vice President wouldn't had been made redundant (I have worked my entire life for a very large corporation in top management, IF a 18 Million deal brings double, no one gets fired! Period!), as Meghan's podcast producers either, no matter the nice goodbye words, the producer went on tik tok to rant rant rant that she was the real producer, the Question writer, the phone call to the guest, the one who actually did the questions, received the answers from the guest, then Meghan with the wonders of technology did her part, the producer edited it all together like if they were in the same room.

The end.

There was a Dem/Covid 19 cancel culture against Joe Rogan, which especially Meghan voiced her desire to cancel the #1 and deplatform the best podcast that makes money for Spotify! Explain the desire to ruin people's lives, reach unemployment for dozens that by doing simple maths 18M can cover at least 18 employees for several years.  It is not misinformation, it is freedom of information from 'other' scientists who did not agree with the vaccine because the approval of it was too fast to be reliable. As a matter of fact Pfizer and Moderna, both approved US Vaccines recently confessed that batches weren't thoroughly investigated, trials, etc. for approval. See all the witch hunt to a famous person just because he is the host/interviews people is hunted. I am one that is glad he is still firmly in his desk, chair, cool studio producing his own show. This is the last out of theme/thread content. Back to the Team Sussex subjects for me.

Lucy Liu who is also mixed race like me was consulted, she is NOT insulted by hollywood portrayal, she is proud of her acting in the film as a sword specialist. Kill Bill a in it's majority a FEMALE (S) protagonists film is one of the best ever in history. Meghan is bonkers attacking 'caricatures' of asian women.  In asia we make a gazillion of Anime/caricature, all sorts of races I must say too pictured.

I am mixed race, half Asian, the 3 sisters practice martial arts, I am the specialist with the sword - teacher, a full fledge samurai, I can do all the 95 katas, it is a honor for us in Asia to be related/called dragon ladies, other than that my asian (horoscope) sign is the Dragon. It is also very highly symbolic in asian culture.

I?m sure Spotify have huge problems Post Covid. However if right wing conspiracy loving Joe Hogan can pull in the huge numbers of listenershe does  (and Tucker Carlson over on Twitter as well) that says more to me about the sad state of the world, or rather of the public that contentedly listens to such rubbish, than it does about any stunning qualities in those two individuals.

Meghan (and Harry) will be fine. They both have ideas in the pipeline I?m sure. At least they are out of the reaches of the grey men at BP and that is something to be grateful for every day of their lives.

In corporate language in ALL industries 'not meeting a 'productivity benchmark' is basically black balling the individual in the particular industry the individual is making a career. Shopping for other platforms will be very difficult.

What I don't like about this key word of 'productivity benchmark is that it does affect the ability to find jobs or hold on to existing contracts elsewhere in the same industry.

I think the couple signed up too many multiple contracts 2020, overwhelming. So, IF I where a CEO from existing contracts (Netflix and Penguin Random House), I'd give it a last chance.

^ Not easy to take care of multiple contracts, 1 season/12 episodes produced in 3 years is for any boss/supervisor to an employee not productive.

An example of high productivity: 1 season/144 episodes/live. That is 3 live episodes per week/4 weeks is a month, x 12 months. Hard worker. This is just an example of how companies relate productivity to salary. Because WSJ correctly related the productivity benchmark to salary.

Quote
The couple hasn?t met the productivity benchmarks required to receive the full payout from the deal.

^This is also telling people in the corporate world who has experience, the employee contract clause is dependant on productivity to salary, the break up of a contract can happen if the productivity is not met. The couple signed a standard contract.

Ayse, I think the next book is Omid Scobie's End Game.  I'll discuss that in the board/thread of people related to royalty when it comes out, anyway I see the correlation, Omid is in California or has returned since travelling there.

Bloomberg's podcast newsletter, Soundbite shared are some of the podcast ideas that Prince Harry had pitched to Spotify.

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

QuoteHarry spoke with multiple producers and production houses, these people said, to discuss possible shows. Along the way, Harry listened to various ideas from others but mostly stuck by his own ? including one about childhood trauma. The concept: Harry would interview a procession of controversial guests, such as Vladimir Putin, Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump, about their early formative years and how those experiences resulted in the adults they are today.

Harry also had an idea, the people said, for a show centered on fatherhood. Another one would have tackled major societal conversations episode by episode, ranging from climate change to religion. For the latter, Harry hoped to have Pope Francis on as a guest.

The practicality of these ideas struck some people in the Harry-podcast cosmos as questionable at best, given that people like Putin and Zuckerberg rarely give wide-ranging interviews about the topics they?re passionate about ? let alone about their upbringings and personal childhood traumas.

In any case, no podcast from Harry ever materialized.

changemhysoul

I believe, if true, that he threw out some big names to give idea. ?What happened to this mean in their childhood to make them so f?ked? up. Apparently Putin told a story to Clinton after the war about his life.

I highly doubt Harry wanted to interview Trump.

But overall, his podcast would?ve been a god idea. The male counterpart to Archetypes. A Podcast about trauma, how that impacts being a father, religion, how society refuses to let me open up and are cruel when they do. I?m still hoping to hear more in depth on how a miscarriage impacts the fathers. People like Bill Simmons are upset because Harry didn?t swing a Joe Rogan for types of content or some type of gossip and he actually had topics he wanted to talk about.

Anywoo, just shows that they?re really sad about them leaving and are unprofessional. There was already a person in twt who said they had good ideas. (Will post proof later)

And I?m guessing, WME is currently going through all of the contracts and Liz looking to see what can be changed.

TLLK

Honestly I feel that more people are more familiar with  Donald Trump's youth due to the books etc..about his life growing up in a wealthy environment in New York. Now Vladimir Putin would be a more interesting candidate though I highly doubt that he'd have agreed to sit down to an interview.

True, Putin would be more interesting because he?s actually?.well?a horrible man but he has a brain and could move in ways that Trump can not and will not because it?s not him. I?d liken him more to a Pence or something.

And I could admit, that it take someone like Harry interviewing Trump for me to learn about him. Because I honestly don?t know much and he?s not a topic or person I?d care to look into more. That being said, I?m sure he?d had some messed up stories of growing up in that environment that would be interesting to get into from a systemic view and etc.

But either way, overall ideas sound good and a I hope he can take that to a different format, he if he wanted too.

wannable

That H wanted sounds very much like Joe Rogan interviewing 'controversial characters'  :pillowfight: :flower:

He knows where the clicks are.

Fair play to H, got ahead of Simmons by telling the public what the podcast ideas was. I wonder what will Simmons do?

changemhysoul

Proof that this came from H?

And no, the details of of what Harry wanted to do, sound opposite of Joe. Not only from topics to presentation.

It?s sounds like Simmons is upset that he didn?t get someone who wanted a Joe Rogan + Royal Gossip mix and didn?t get that with Harry but it sounds like that?s what he wanted.

As far as what Simmons will do? Don?t know, don?t care. Unless he releases video.

wannable

Based on the article (S) multiple production teams and his own team.

changemhysoul

Gotcha, so it?s a ?seems to be? and ?I think? I think thing.

If anything comes, I hope he can get the one for fatherhood going.

wannable

He could say I think as my truth vs the BRF, vs US companies, NYPD, Mayor of a city so far he hasn't said his truth.   These stories coming out from WSJ, Bloomberg are not gossip rags.

Good luck to H shopping In another platform, during his 3 years with Spotify he managed to be part of 1.2 episodes.  I will stick with my comment wanting to interview Trump/Putin is exactly what Joe has done, interview controversial characters AND non controversial characters, let's say it like it is, the controversial characters are the dems moaning, when he interviews non controversial characters, zero moans. Gotta give it to Joe, he does controversy, it brings in the clicks, numbers, and because of that the advertising for the company. Anyone can check his podcasts, controversial character millions enter curiosity, like, dislike but I gotta know, etc. Non Controversial it makes the 'mark' but doesn't surpass the controversial ones. I mean the latest Robert Kennedy has even Biden and Trump trembling, probably both establishments. He broke the historical record in donations for his campaign with 2 social media live talks with Joe and the other with Elon.  The latter two men didn't even think that could happen.

wannable

^Then you have the media reporting on it, just like Joe (and Elon), media journalists with the millions who entered live to listen or re-watch later, REPORTED on what happens in these live chats; Joe's unfiltered podcast or Elons Space.  They aren't little social media shows any longer, 2 shows, with a strip under the screen saying: Donate Acct: RobertKennedyPresidentialCampaign Federal Bank acct #suchandsuch (so big brother can watch and make sure no deceptions going on), USD 30M. This has never happened before. Both Spotify and Twitter are using this as a copilot test for future programs, they have invited any presidential candidate who wants to speak.  They have used this reference for ''other subjects'' with scientists, or whatever subject is buzzing. And it is working.  So from a Copilot test, it pretty sure will become a blueprint Pilot Test that succeeded.

IF one thinks the Bloomberg H ideas is not exactly the same as Joe's. As a esteemed member says here I got a bridge to sell you.

When the media says 'multiple production teams and H team too', it's not them saying I think. The only one who has sad I think subjective to My truth is H. But not in any of the Sussexes US failures. BTW, NYPD is STILL waiting for H to deliver his pictures and film of the alleged chase. The media just won't forget it or let go, they call the NYDP weekly to find out if there is any 'development'.

*****

ALL IN ALL, H team reporting on this is a good studied PR.  He or his PR people know exactly what I have said in my comments, know it's true, they know it brings chatter, they know the 'numbers' and the 'clicks', they just know  :happy15:

Just because certain people are able to draw large numbers of others to listen to them doesn?t draw admiration from me. Throughout history, since radio was invented, ideologues have used it to impart their ideas and wishes to the masses. A certain A Hitler used the same methods through the 1930s, for example.

My son used to listen to Rogan. Dave is left leaning, knows a great deal about politics, current affairs etc, and over the past year or so has been completely put off by Rogan?s conspiracy theories take on things like Covid. As for Elon there is no way anybody in this household would listen to anything he?s got to say on any podcast or from any organisation.

And you may not believe it but there are are millions upon millions like us, including people who live in free democratic societies not ruled by the mighty buck. And we don?t live in the US, the capital of Consumerism and all it stands for.
Other voices in and out of the political arena speak to us in this country Australia and to others around the world. Might and money (and the ability to attract large sums of it) isn?t at  all attractive and does not equal Right. I save my admiration for people who deserve it. People who work for others in their daily lives.

As for Robert Kennedy jnr, the BBC has a new report on him.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65934748

Robert F Kennedy Jr has downplayed his anti-vaccine views in his run for the US presidency, but a podcast appearance has put them front and centre once again.
Mr Kennedy, who's seeking the Democratic party nomination for president, is facing controversy after raising his anti-vaccine views on the Joe Rogan podcast.
He appeared on the massively popular series - known for its wide-ranging conversations and a range of guests, including a number with controversial or pseudoscientific views - last Thursday.
Now he's facing pushback for repeating several disproven statements that he's made as head of anti-vaccine charity Children's Health Defense. Among them was the widely debunked idea that vaccines cause autism.
