QuoteThe charity, Children and the Arts wrote on their blog that Her Royal Highness, Princess Eugenie of York has announced an upcoming 'Be Inspired' Contemporary Art Auction to benefit disadvantaged children. The auction is to be held at Christie's on King Street in London on 8 March.
This event is part of the auction house's Post-War and Contemporary Art Sales, including a selection of works for Christie's online sale from 4-13 April. Princess Eugenie is Patron of Be Inspired charity. Whilst her uncle, The Prince of Wales is Patron of Children and the Arts charity and has been since 2002. Her Royal Highness had this to say about the upcoming auctions: "I am truly inspired by the amazing work Children & the Arts does to improve the lives of disadvantaged children. For more than a decade, the charity has been using the arts to help children overcome the unfair barriers that can hold back confidence, self-worth and attainment. This auction will give them the vital funds they need to continue to be there for the many children in the UK that need their support."
Martin Creed, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Jonas Burgert, Gavin Turk and Bernar Venet are just some of the contemporary artists to be featured at the auctions. Princess Eugenie, in her professional capacity at the contemporary art gallery, Hauser & Wirth, procured the Martin Kreed piece. There will be a private viewing on 3 March at Christy's Inc., which Princess Eugenie may attend.
