While Princess Laurentien does not typically perform royal duties, she does have some patronages that she supports.

Oh my goodness, who let the Queen out of the palace with that hair......don't they have hair brushes and combs and someone to help her get ready before an event?  That is pitiful and shows disrespect to the people who organized the event. Takes 2 minutes to run a comb through the hair......do it even in the car.

Maxi?s always had that sort of hair. It flies away at the drop of a hat!

Yes her hair has always been fly away. Also The Netherlands is very windy especially in cities close to the sea like Amsterdam.

However today she seems to have read our comments and has pulled her hair back for today's visit to a sustainable jeans factory.

I am a fan of Max's new hairstyle; it suits her flyaway texture much better. It looks very neat and polished, pulled back into a bun. I m a fan!

Queen M?xima talks about financial health in new interview ? Royal Central

QuoteQueen M?xima sat down for an interview with CNBC while at the World Economic Forum in Davos last week to talk about financial inclusion.

The Queen of the Netherlands attends the World Economic Forum annually in her role as the UN Secretary-General?s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, and was asked by reporter Tania Bryer about the progress financial inclusion has made since the 2022 Forum.

?We?ve had amazing progress,? Queen M?xima said, relaying that the world data indicates that 76% of the world?s population has access to financial services. In 2011, that number was at 50%.

?Financial inclusion is a means to an end, not an end in itself, so it is about actually having financial health? It basically means being able to deal with your funds on a day-to-day basis,? the Queen said, adding that resiliency, being able to create long-term goals, and not having financial stress are also important tenants to financial health.

Her Majesty said she was optimistic about the collaborations and discussions she?d seen at Davos this year between private and public sector organisations?and private sectors organisations with each other?in regards to financial inclusion.

Queen M?xima said that people need greater access to digital identification so that they can create digital profiles; and that the pandemic has shown that a lot of money had to be moved by mobile means.

A rare in person royal engagement for Princess Laurentien who is married to Prince Constantijn and the sister-in-law to King W-A. Her focus is on literacy.
If I had to give an example of a successful  designation of "royal with career who still participates in national events and has patronages" I'd look to The Netherlands. While it's not "half in/half out" as the pair do not receive state funding, they are part of the Royal House and are official representatives of the monarchy while having careers too.

The Kingdom of the Netherlands is made up of four parts: Aruba, Curacao, the Netherlands and Sint Maarten. This is the first time she's taken part in an official overseas visit to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.

More photos from their arrival. From viewing the photos it appears to be extremely windy.  Princess C-A is struggling with her dress a little bit, so there's a learning experience that nearly every royal lady has had to encounter at an airport.

So King W-A has kept his flying hours up and still pilot?s planes! I think that?s terrific. And it must be really interesting for C-A to see all this from the colonial days. But this is very different time and it?s good to see that those ties remain.
