Prince Michael of Kent participated in the Danish production " A Royal Family." I believe it was made in about 2000. He discusses his great-grandmother's limp and the women who copied it. :hehe:

Between the corsets, heavy skirts and mismatched shoe heights, it is a wonder that Tylenol wasn't invented sooner..........

There was a story from many years ago that Alexandra's neck did not have a scar from a childhood operation but that she had (shades of Diana) tried to self-harm and had slashed at her throat. She was rescued in time, obviously! Later on in life she inevitably wore chokers or high necklines.

It occurred, it was said, at about the time she contracted the limp. A bout of fever had followed the birth of her first daughter, Louise. Her husband Bertie, the Prince of Wales, wasn't exactly haunting her bedside. In fact he was out (probably pursuing other women) until 2am or so practically every night. Alexandra stayed awake and became extremely upset, hence the attempt. Don't know how true the tale is, though!

"You don't have to be pretty. You don't owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don't owe it to your mother, you don't owe it to your children, you don't owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked 'female'." Diana Vreeland.

I've never heard it and would seriously doubt it. Alix didn't like bertie's infidelities, but  I dout if she'd "self harm.
