QuoteThe Queen's Baton Relay for the 2018 Commonwealth Games will launch at Buckingham Palace on Commonwealth Day, 13 March, in the presence of The Queen, Prince Philip, and the Earl of Wessex.

The Queen will receive Louise Martin, CBE, who is the President of the Commonwealth Games Federation; Peter Beattie, AC, who is the Chairman of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation; and two Elder representatives of the Yugambeh people at Buckingham Palace prior to the launch of the relay.

The royal party will then make its way out to the Forecourt at Buckingham Palace to receive Kurt Fearnley, who will have brought the Baton from Marlborough House accompanied by the Band of the Scots Guards.
