On Tuesday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia started a three-day State Visit to Estonia.

They were officially welcomed by the President and the First Lady at Freedom Square in Tallinn. They then took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the War of Independence memorial before attending a tree-planting ceremony.

Princess Sofia visits Enbacksskolan ? UFO No More

On Monday, Princess Sofia visited Enbacksskolan in Tensta with the Prince Couple?s Foundation. She met students, teachers, and school staff to discuss how the school works on issues related to dyslexia and online safety by creating a safe space for everyone.

Princess Sofia also did an interview for the school?s radio in which she talked about the strength of differences.

On Monday, King Carl-Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria attended a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Royal Palace.

King Carl-Gustaf chairs the Committee while Crown Princess Victoria is a member. The Foreign Affairs Committee is a consultative body between the Riksdag and the government and it consists of the Speaker and nine other members from the Riksdag as well as nine deputies.

The Foreign Affairs Committee meets at the invitation of the government. In the constitution, it is stated that "the government must continuously keep the Foreign Affairs Committee informed of the foreign policy conditions that may have significance for the kingdom and consult with the committee about these as often as necessary."

The SRF at the Opening of Parliament. This is a less formal event than in the United Kingdom and The Netherlands. Also the monarch typically does not read a speech from the throne like their British and Dutch peers.

On Tuesday, King Carl-Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl-Philip, and Princess Sofia attended the official opening of the Parliament in Stockholm.

The ladies dress code is to wear daytime outfits in black and white with hats and gloves. The gentlemen wear suits.

Well, King CG has become nothing more than a figurehead really, and that has all happened with successive governments during his reign.
All the Swedish royal ladies look very nice and fresh in their white outfits. I except perhaps the bow at Victoria?s neck but then I?ve never been fond of those sort of bows on necklines. Quite matronly.

The Swedish Royal Family attends Te Deum for King Carl XVI Gustaf?s Golden Jubilee ? Royal Central

King Carl XVI Gustaf has begun celebrations for his 50 years on the throne with a Te Deum at the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

Joined by his immediate family, the royal families of Norway and Denmark, and members of Nordic governments, religious communities and members of the court, the Te Deum was led by Michael Bjerkhagen, who leads the Royal Court Congregation, and Johan Dalman, the chief court preacher.

On Thursday evening, the Swedish Royal family and Scandinavian Royal guests attended a performance by the Royal Opera at Drottningholm Palace?s Theater to mark King Carl Gustaf?s Golden Jubilee. Following the performance, a private dinner took place at the Palace.

It doesn?t say which opera they saw, or I missed it! Some opera is an acquired taste, it can be great or a complete bore. Estelle is growing up. She looked very nice in her gown! It was lovely that the Norwegians and Danes showed up for the dinner etc. I love the way these three royal families support each other.

New poll on KCXVIG and CPss Victoria which more or less has most people saying that the King has done his job, but they believe that it is time for Victoria to take over. Like in most Scandinavian nations, those polled prefer to remain a constitutional monarchy.

Survey: The King has done his thing - time for the Crown Princess to take over
The majority of Swedes think that the King has handled his office well, but that it is now time to hand over to Crown Princess Victoria. That is the opinion of a majority of those who answered a survey that Dagens Nyheter had Ipsos conduct.
- The King's time on the throne is running out, if you listen to the voters. There is a clear shift in public opinion, says Nicklas K?llebring, opinion analyst at Ipsos.
This is said to be the first time a majority wants to see Victoria on the throne. 43 % believe the King should step down, 38 % want him to stay. 64 % believe that the King did a good job during his time on the throne, only 25 % think the opposite.
Monarchy as a form of government also has strong support. 62 % believe it should be kept, while 25 % believe it should be abolished.
The survey is based on 1,291 interviews, conducted in August.

Yes, It?s a bit odd that it wasn?t mentioned what they actually saw considering the SRF and guests all spent at least a couple of hours doing so. I expect it was one of the lighter opera bouffes anyway.

As for the polling, it?s what?s most observers expected I think. There?s hardly any republican movement in any of the Scandi kingdoms, and Victoria has always been very much admired. The Swedes did have a succession of long lived male monarchs for a long time and I don?t think they want a similar situation to Charles. Can?t see King CG abdicating though.
