The royal couple attended the academic ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the council at its headquarters in Madrid, Spain. The ceremony looks back at the Scientific Investigations High Council's role in the creation of knowledge and service to society the past 75 years.

For the occasion, Queen Letizia looked elegant in a red, black and white outfit consisting of black trousers and black and white floral patterned top under a red jacket. The red jacket and the patterned top were both from Mango. Her shoes were new, stylish black stilettos by Carolina Herrera from the current Fall-Winter Collection 2014. Letizia accessorised with a special red clutchbag, the Flavia by Tissa Fontaneda.
