65 years on this day HRH Princess Maria Louisa of Bulgaria and HSH Prince Karl zu Leiningen were married in Cannes. On the 2nd photo with the Princess's uncle HM King Umberto II of Italy. The couple were 4 times fourth cousins once removed, since the Princess is a 3rd-great-granddaughter of Duke Franz Saxe Coburg Saalfeld, and her groom 4 times a 4th-great-grandson, twice through his mother, Grand Duchess Maria of Russia, and twice through his father. The couple were the parents of Princes Boris and Hermann zu Leiningen.

King Simeon gave an interview and confirmed that his grandson Prince Boris (son of the late Prince Kardam and Princess Miriam  ) will become The Custodian of the Crown in the future. The Bulgarian royals ( Saxe-Coburgs) seem to be following the example of their neighbors in Romania.

On 8 July , the King Simeon received at the Vrana Palace Mr. Ilhan Kyuchuk, co-chairman of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe /ALDE/, who presented him with the Hans van Baalen medal on behalf of the Liberal International.

The Bulgarian Supreme Court has determined that former King Simeon and his sister Princess Maria Louisa are the rightful owners of Vrana Palace.

Finally: The Sofia "Vrana" Palace is property of the former king of Bulgaria
