Prince Harry was last night said to be devastated at the loss of five British troops he served with in Afghanistan.

The victims were killed when their Lynx helicopter crashed at about 11pm local time yesterday in Kandahar province.

Three of those who died were from the Army Air Corps, the unit Harry served with in Afghanistan as an Apache helicopter pilot.

Military sources said the prince, 29, was "deeply saddened."
"You don't have to be pretty. You don't owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don't owe it to your mother, you don't owe it to your children, you don't owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked 'female'."
