QuoteThere was a very special birthday surprise for disabled riders at an Arundel horse yard last week – when the Princess Royal paid a visit to the club.

Princess Anne was the guest of honour at the Arundel Riding for the Disabled Association's (RDA) to mark its 35th anniversary since it opened at its base, at the Arundel Riding Centre, in Park Place.

She was welcomed by dignitaries from across the county, including the chairman of West Sussex County Council Amanda Jupp, Arun District Council's chairman Dougal Maconachie and the deputy lieutenant of West Sussex Harry Goring.

Joy Leggett, who founded the riding club in 1979, said everyone was very excited about the Royal's visit.
