Duke of Kent Leads Celebration to Mark Refurbishment of Memorial Gardens

His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent travelled to Tonbridge on Monday to take part in a service to celebrate the £250,000 refurbishment of the Tonbridge Memorial Gardens.

The state of the gardens had deteriorated in recent years, with the memorial wall falling into disrepair and the lack of a paved standing area for the attendants of ceremonies leading to restricted disabled access.

As a result, The Tonbridge Memorial Gardens Trust was formed in 2010, launching a campaign to raise the required funds to carry out the necessary refurbishment works at the site.
