QuoteZara Phillips Launches Equestrian Clothing Line

Zara Phillips launched the latest collection of clothing by British brand Musto today (05.10.12).

Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter - who won a silver medal as part of Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics this summer - has worked closely with the range and stepped in to give a helping hand in promoting their new equestrian line, with England and Black Rams rugby player James Haskell assisting too.

The pair posed for photos at Somerset House on London's Strand wearing items from the spring/summer range of the collection, named ZP176 after Zara's number when first representing her country.

The rugby player dwarfed the 31-year-old Queen's granddaughter as they posed for a photocall at Somerset House on the Strand in London, where both wore items from the spring/summer range of the British brand.

Zara has worked closely with the brand since the partnership was announced in 2009 - indeed, the collection is named ZP176, after the number Zara was given when she first represented her country - and the keen horsewoman has always had a hand in the design process.

QuoteZara Phillips Talks Through Her New Range for Musto

Somerset House usually plays host to fashion royalty (including a fair few queens) during show season, but entertained the real deal last week when Zara Phillips tootled along to debut her new-season clothing line for Musto.

The queen's granddaughter and Olympic silver-winning equestrian has been designing for the sports and leisurewear brand for two years now. The spring/summer 2013 collection is more of the same stuff she launched with - training jackets, fleeces, gilets, polos and chaps - but they're now apparently more "technical".

Phillips talked through the details at the presentation she hosted and managed to make an amusing job of "waterproof finishes" and "stretch mesh ventilation panelling" thanks to some well-timed self-deprecation: "This jacket shares some of the properties of the Neptune jacket - if you can remember what, you're doing better than me," she deadpanned, as models walked out wearing her designs and those from Musto's new sailing and shooting collections.
