One present to Marguerite from King Henry VI was a beautiful palfrey draped in crimson velvet sewn with gold roses. The fact that the pageants enacted to celebrate her arrival in English indicates that Marguerite could understand something of her new country's language.

In September 1457 Queen Margaret defied King Henry VI over the appointment of a new Bishop of Durham. She wanted her chancellor, Laurence Booth, to be preferred. Margaret secretly put pressure on the Pope. Laurence Booth was elected Bishop on September 15.

Etiquette at the court of Queen Margaret of Anjou were rigorously formal. Duchesses, and even princes of the blood, were obliged to approach the Queen on their knees.

In 1547 Margaret of Anjou introduced conscription, a measure hitherto employed only by the kings of France.
How could Margaret as a Queen introduce conscription? She was not a Queen Regnant.
