:thanks: Thanks for all the links sara8150!  :brightside: A local news outlet says that Wills and Kate DID get their down time away from everything after all, they stayed overnight at the Skoki Lodge near Lake Louise, in Banff ski country in Alberta:

And a video of Skoki Lodge, it looks rustic but in very beautiful surroundings, the rockies are gorgeous!:

^^ I find it plausible.  Weren't they supposed to take the entire day off, but decided to visit a fire-ravaged area instead?  This would have given them the break they would have gotten had they rested today.

Cindy

:thankyou: Thanks Cindy. and that's just what they did, as we all found out.  I fixed the AP images link as well, so now everyone should be able to see all 76 photos:

William and Kate will be spending their down time in Lake Louise. Global News caught up with a Calgary couple who had a 'hunch' the Duke and Duchess would be in the area. Sure enough, they found a motorcade which drove up the ski hill to meet three military helicopters. The Royal Couple will be escorted to a private lodge five minutes away to relax and enjoy a beautiful evening in the Rocky Mountains.

I must say this tour has really enlightened me in regards to what a naturally beautiful place Canada is. I'm American and have always loved Canada, and I have visited both
Toronto and Montreal and enjoyed myself immensely. Still, I never knew such beautiful expanses of natural land existed in the north. I definitely have to visit one day.
These are the good old days.

Any chance of a tiara for this one? Or will she maybe wear the brooch again?

We'll get to know tonight. I hope so anyway, at least one dressy event would be nice.

She does accordingly to protocol in the walkabouts, accepts the flowers, trinkets and gifts given to her by the public.  It would be a juicy media scandal if Catherine is videotaped rejecting a gift.

Mike, there's a lot of US information about their California touchdown this coming Friday, I will post eventually tomorrow after their Calgary Stampede, which I think will be big, media wise.  The Telegraph claims that even the California Governor will be receiving the couple and an expat Brit says she's got inside knowledge that Hollywood, media and paparazzi have the "Kate" craze.

They are still in Canada? Have they not outstayed their welcome yet?

Quotenear Lake Louise, in Banff ski country in Alberta
- the most beautiful place I think I have ever seen.  So glad they have a chance to experience it without constantly being under photographic surveillance!  :D

Yes, no one was criticizing he way Kate handled it...we were simply saying that the gift was strange.

I think Catherine has seen and read all the Diana videos, books and photos though.

Oh I've stayed at the Skoki Lodge before! It's very nice and isolated. You cant get to it by vehicle, you have to hike along a trail. I hope they had a good time away from all the people.

Rachel Mc.

i'm sure she saw all her videos and photos, but i don't think she read any books, she has the most accurate source in the world to talk about her
