Title: Return of the Swedish Coronation
Post by: LouisFerdinand on December 09, 2015, 11:26:44 PM
Oscar II was crowned as King of Sweden on May 12, 1873.
Since then Kings of Sweden declared not to be crowned. However, there is no law or constitutional provision preventing a coronation.
What do you think about a return of the Swedish Coronation?

^^^I believe that it will not occur again. Most constitutional monarchies have chosen to forgo the act of crowning their monarchs and have substituted taking an oath instead. The regalia might be present at the ceremony but the monarch will not wear it.
