The Duke of Edinburgh, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, this morning and this afternoon held Receptions in the garden of Buckingham Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

The Bands of the British Army Tidworth and the Royal Air Force Regiment played selections of music during the day.

Prince Edward has hosted a celebratory event for winners of the gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award at Buckingham Palace. The ceremony is the first of four events for the award winners, which will see more than 8,000 young people celebrated in the palace gardens over two days. Report by Laurence Brooks.
