This year marks the couple's tenth wedding anniversary on October 13.

Its theme was meant to honor the birthday of the 3rd king Jigme Dorji Wangchuc, the king's grandfather. He was known for introducing wide spread modern education to Bhutan. His birthday every year is celebrated as an honor to teachers.
