Title: The Wales': Joint Mental Health Patronages ie- Heads Together
Post by: TLLK on March 06, 2016, 01:37:55 AM
A place to discuss the Wales' joint mental health work ie: Heads Together which includes Prince Harry's involvement as well.

THE Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are joining forces with Prince Harry to launch a year-long campaign on mental health.

Each of the three will focus on particular areas of mental health in which they have an interest.

Prince Harrywill concentrate on the "invisible injuries" of servicemen and women, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety disorders.

The Ministry of Defence said last week that 7,434 armed forces personnel had been assessed as having a mental health condition between April 2014 and September 2015.

The duchess will highlight mental health problems suffered by children and the importance of early intervention. The duke will focus on the difficulties affecting young men, from teenagers to men of his own age.

The three will launch their campaign at the end of April. Royal sources said they were working with charities and "creatives" on a name for the campaign.

By working together on a joint campaign, the duke and duchess and Prince Harry believe they can send a powerful message across society on the importance of these issues ...... Focusing on veterans, children and young men shows how broad the issues are and how many different people mental health affects.

It's great that they are lending their support to mental health charities and chose a certain group to focus on so their efforts comes across natural. It must be challenging for them to be a voice for issues that doesn't necessarily affect their private lives.

However I do believe they know people among their friends and family who are currently dealing with these issues or have experienced them in the past.

I don't really see hwy they need to know people with mental disorders, to raise money and awareness for these charities..
I do believe though that they've likely met people with them throughout their years in school, while he was in the military, or just family and friends who have some of the conditions.

well spreading awareness for issues that don't hit close to home makes their efforts look not very personal. It's like not expecting a royal patron of a cancer awareness charity, to have anyone close that has battled cancer. Where was the inspiration for change coming from if it didn't personally affect their lives. I guess royals should just show up for the fund raising ribbon cutting and hugs as long as the media is documenting it. And they get the public's stamp of approval for partaking in non gap year like activities.

Probably, but it is not a prerequisite for raising money... and naturally whatever personal knowledge they have of people with such problems, should be kept private

^ so why is will meeting up with a man who contemplated suicide and the man who helped talk him out if it ? It's possible to mention their personal experiences with the people who the charities are created to help, without naming names and being very specific.

^^^ While I do agree with @michelle0187 that it is possible to keep such information confidential, I'm going to guess that the men decided it was worth sharing this personal information in order to put a "face and name" to the issue.

I just think if he is comfortable with using those two men's experience with suicide prevention then it's fair to say they do find using the private stories of those struggling with mental health to be acceptable, if the person gives their consent. But I don't think putting out specific  private info on the person's life (a close friend or acquaintance of the royal patrons),necessary to let the public know they too can relate. It doesn't always have to be about raising money to fund treatment centers. Raising awareness can be very beneficial in shedding the ignorance, that contributes negatively on the treatment process of the mentally ill.

So it appears that the man who attempted suicide started his own campaign to find his rescuer. IMHO then if he chose to go public with his information it was his choice to share the reasons that motivated him to start the search.

 :goodpost:@Nightowl.

I'd like to point out that the Cambridges are not the only royal couple who find their coverage being more about fashion and hairstyles than about the actual engagement or charity. I'm sure that the CPs of Denmark and Norway have found themselves relegated to the sidelines by the press on more than one occasion as the tabloids choose to focus on their wives outfits.  (Fortunately for Mary and Mette-Marit their husbands appear to handle this with more grace than Charles did with Diana decades ago.)

I hope more people realize that talking about your feelings doesn't make you "weak", and that no matter what your situation in life, you are allowed to feel whatever you're feeling.

I always hate it when people are told to deny their feelings,  simply because  another person could be struggling more. It's not a competition.

I applaud these initiatives, however what is needed is more funding and because that is a political issue, they cannot speak about that.

Yes, good for them for trying to break the stigma, but through their privileged positions both Harry and William had access to the best healthcare. Many in the UK and the world don't. Here in Canada, it is not easy to get a referral to see a therapist, I have friend who has been waiting to see one. It is so frustrating that it is treated like a nonissue health problem when it can be paralyzing for the person and his/her family and friends.

It's tragic to lose a wonderful mother at a young age. I heard other stories of children who lost their mothers at a young age that have trouble coping with the tragedy. At least Prince William had the support of his friends and brother to help him. He did well to offer his support for those who lost their mother or other beloved family member at such a young age.

Prince William has revealed he continues to struggle with the death of his late mum, Princess Diana.

The Duke of Cambridge said the shock of his mother's death lives with him to this day as he sympathised with a London Marathon runner who appealed for advice on how to comfort her bereaved children.

William told Rhian Burke, 39, who suffered the double loss of her one-year-old son and husband within days of each other, that her son and daughter would be well looked after as she would 'provide the blanket of stability and understanding that they need'.

I am very glad to see that the podcast helped and encouraged people to make that initial call. I said yesterday on Twitter that if this initiative helps even one person to seek help it will be worth it. There's been a great deal of cynical sneering about royals talking about what ails them and Katie Hopkins is an expert on this sort of put-down IMO. I'd like to know what initiatives in any area of public health she has started, actually.

W,K,H ,looked like they had good time today at the marathon. They all seem very engaged and very friendly.I was a little freaked out when I saw William get splashed with water. Even though it may have been a joke people are crazy these days.Whoever threw the water was being disrespectful and invading someones personal space.William laughed it off but I would have been really upset. Next time if they are that close to runners they need at least an officer in front of the barrier next to them to prevent this ever happening again if they hand out water at the marathon in the future.

Security was likely not happy with the water splashing because it could have been something else in the bottles (ie acid) and it would have splashed on to others besides the Cambridges too.

I always thought that the phrase meant streamlining various facets of your business so that it's all customer-friendly and seamless. Quite how that would translate into charitable endeavours I don't know? Having all similar services under one umbrella organisation perhaps, in order to get the maximum bang for the charities' buck and more publicity?

Our service has been launched by Mental Health Innovations, a digital mental health charity that was established as a legacy from the Heads Together campaign. Shout is grateful for the work and generous support of The Royal Foundation; whose founding grant launched the charity

Shout ? for support in a crisis (https://www.giveusashout.org/)

Quote
William and Kate have launched service to help those with mental health issues
Prince William said 'Shout' will be free, anonymous and available 24-hours a day
The Royal couple have launched campaign to find 3,000 volunteers to man it

Announcing the initiative at Kensington Palace yesterday, Prince William revealed that the national service ? also backed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ? would be free, anonymous and available all day every day. Pictured Harry and Meghan meet Shout volunteers
He added: 'That's 60,000 moments when people who were feeling scared, alone and frightened were able to use their phone to connect with someone who could support them.'
'Harry, Meghan, Catherine and I have been able to see the service working up close and are very excited for its future.
'At the heart of Shout will be an incredible national volunteer community, one which needs to grow to allow us to support more people in crisis.'
William said the 'difficult' nature of the conversations may not be for everyone, but hoped the number of volunteers would keep growing.
Smiling, he invited his wife Kate, dressed in a striped jumper and ankle-grazing wide-legged trousers, to take the floor. She talked about her work with vulnerable children and the importance of intervening before they develop mental problems. She added: 'Sadly for so many they have already reached a crisis situation. That's why we believe that Shout is so important.'

@wannable-Thank you for sharing the information. The video is definitely worth viewing for those in the UK interested in volunteering for the SHOUT helpline. Requirements are: if you are over 18, have a secure Internet connection, are willing to undergo the 25 hours of training and are available for 2-4 hours a week for one year.

The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are  launching their most ambitious project aimed at reaching vulnerable people who are in crisis via text messaging. Good luck to those who are training the volunteers and kudos to those who see the need and answer the call.

QuoteHe told how ?Harry, Meghan, Katherine and I? had been closely involved with developing Shout over the past 12 months.

The project is the first joint initiative since the Duchess of Sussex joined the Royal family last year, and yesterday?s announcement the first since the couples formally separated their households amid rumours of contrasting working styles.

Most of Kate's children charities have to do with Mental Health for Kids and are associated to this new initiative (check the tweets/re-tweets of Shout). She has been saying for years to date that MH starts or should start with parents/teachers when noting anything out of character since the first years of childhood.

I think the behind the scenes, secret visits, will be known in coming years rather than days, weeks or months, she doesn't flaunt it or mention it, but is said by people related to whatever cause years later as anecdotes.  It happened with Head Together, her husband said in the fab 4 it was her idea, quite 2 years after the launch.  Other examples: When single/private life, several PP client service employee operators said she'd be 2-4 hours attending calls on certain days or a day off/shortage of operators, this type of anecdotes were made public years after. Today's Scouting Anglesey, apparently she regulary called when going to volunteer, no photos, no mentions.

But yes @sandy , I agree a 1 year commitment of several hours daily from Mon-friday (those are the conditions in the Shout website) would set a great example.  I'm just not sure if it would be a good PR stating it now, it would rub off as? FillInTheBlank.

I think they know that the more publicity the subject gets the less of a stigma and the less of a taboo topic one's own mental health is. They are really giving it exposure in so many ways. Last year it was reported that the DOC had gone to meet with the Queen about this major mental health initiative. The article noted that she was really going out on a limb. I think they're all out on that limb and have all done their homework, and with such a screwed up world with shootings and anger everywhere, this just might the basic first step to relieve it.

I also thought it was interesting the way he described the encounters he had due to his job.

Oftentimes it helps opening up to someone so it's good that PW is taking the lead and talking about his experiences and emotions.

^^^I agree @oak_and_cedar and I for one applaud that the Wales brothers have been forthcoming with their own experiences with grief and how it impacted their lives. IMO each needed to wait until they were ready to discuss the issue with a professional like Harry did or with close friends/family in William's case. IMHO for those who are on the front lines of emergency response: police, fire, paramedics etc..you can be as well prepared and trained as possible knowing that you will encounter the worst situations that human beings can encounter, but there will still be those cases that still take an emotional toll. Even when your hours of professional training kick in so you can work with your team to handle the on site tasks, there will still be those situations that will touch you more deeply. As he is the father of young children, I've suspected that the tragedy he's hinted at in early conversations did involve the death of a child and/or children.
First responders have to care for their own mental health if they want to continue providing the best possible care to the public. IMO it  is extremely important to have counseling available to those who choose to run toward danger and to assist their fellow human beings in life threatening situations.

It's quite a mission, and has the Queen's blessing. It will take a lot of this type of PR to break the stigma, but I am glad they've taken on the cause. Mental health issues are probably at the base of much of the world's troubles. For example, just think about the trouble Alexandra Romanoff's mental health caused her, her family and many others.

QuoteI am very concerned though that on every challenge they face ? fake news, extremism, polarisation, hate speech, trolling, mental health, privacy, and bullying ? our tech leaders seem to be on the back foot.

Their self-image is so grounded in their positive power for good that they seem unable to engage in constructive discussion about the social problems that they are creating.

The journey from inventors in the student dormitory to the leaders of some of the most valuable companies on earth has been so fast that they may struggle to understand that their incentives have changed. The noise of shareholders, bottom lines, and profits is distracting them from the values that made them so successful in the first place.

The above is from 2018 though the original call on the Social Media companies was made in 2017. William acknowledges in his 2018 speech that he'd underestimated the time it would take to stop the ongoing problems associated with cyber bullying.

Launched on Thursday and backed by companies including Snapchat and Facebook, the code is called ?Stop, Speak, Support,? and is aimed at helping young people to ?look out for their friends, to stop the bullies, to speak out and to get support.?

I agree. At the time of the so called rift one of the rags showed a picture of Catherine driving to BP to see the queen.  Later an announcement that the project was in development was made and that she had gone to consult with the Queen about it. That leads me to believe there was a lot of behind the scenes preparation from all concerned...it is almost like the culmination of what all four have been working towards, as they described in that joint press meeting before the Sussex wedding.

A Heads Together news

Quote

FSB backs The Royal Foundation's Heads Together charity

Heads Together, a mental health initiative spearheaded by The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has been named as the FSB National Chairman's chosen charity.
Mike Cherry named Heads Together as his chosen charity in an effort to help destigmatise mental health in the workplace.

FSB will support Heads Together in amplifying the conversation about mental health among the UK?s 5.7 million strong UK small business community. FSB will also work to raise money for the vital work and programmes led by Heads Together including the Mental Health at Work Gateway.

Addressing mental health in the workplace remains a challenge, particularly for smaller employees and the self-employed. Research shows that poor mental health in the workplace is widespread with around half (48%) of people saying they have experienced a mental health problem in their current job.

Talking about why he chose Heads Together, Mike Cherry reflected on his own experiences and how he hopes it will lead to more small business owners talking about mental health in their workplace.

He said: ?As business owners, we have a crucial role to play in starting the conversation about mental health in our workplace. We need to lead the way in both destigmatising mental health in the workplace and acting to help members of our team when they are struggling.

?My father struggled with depression for many years and this was something that impacted his ability to run and manage the family business. His struggles have made me very aware of the impact poor mental health can have on small business owners, as well as employees.

?I am extremely proud to have chosen Heads Together and I am confident that we can help change the conversation around mental health in the workplace. By supporting the great work that they do, we can get even more small business owners talking about mental health and supporting themselves and their staff.?

Lorraine Heggessy, CEO of The Royal Foundation said ?We are very grateful to FSB for their support. This is a perfect partnership as both The Royal Foundation through Heads Together and FSB are committed to ensuring that all businesses have access to the best possible resources to support good mental health in the workplace. Research has shown that only 23% of employees in SMEs say they are comfortable talking about poor mental health.

?We are helping to address this issue by working with Mind on the Mental Health at Work Gateway, which was developed particularly to help small businesses.  We have also recently supported Mind?s new training toolkit ?Mental Health for Small Workplaces. We urge you to spread the word about the Gateway and the toolkit so that employers and employees alike can find the support they need, regardless of the size of their business.?

Update on Shout since its launch.

'A tidal wave of problems': texting on the mental health frontline | Society | The Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/jun/10/a-tidal-wave-of-problems-texting-on-the-mental-health-frontline)

IMHO its an article worth reading in its entirety. It features an interview with one of the male volunteers who times his availability during school breaks and lunches when the number of texts tends to ride. The article also features a sample conversation between client and volunteer.

Quote? It is attracting a different generation into volunteering,? said Victoria Hornby, the chief executive of Mental Health Innovations, said of those answering the texts. ?It makes sense to them. They can do everything remotely.?

QuoteThe computer dashboard at Shout, a suicide prevention text service, flashes up with a new cry for help every minute or two. The really worrying ones are highlighted in yellow by software that attempts to detect if a texter is about to try to kill themselves. Words and phrases such as ?overdose? or ?I can?t do this any more? trigger an urgent priority flag, and a trained volunteer armed with a laptop starts trying to calm down, reassure and then help the texter.

This is the new digital frontline in the fight to deter young people from taking their own lives or even thinking about it. Since Shout was launched last month as part of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?s mental health campaign, its operators have been handling 500 conversations a day, 70% from women and girls, sometimes from classrooms and playgrounds. The crises are often so severe that the emergency services have had to be despatched in ?active rescues? as often as 22 times a day.

Suicide rates in the UK have been falling slightly in recent years and the most vulnerable group remains men aged 45 to 49. But Shout is catering to younger people who might not pick up the phone or talk to friends or family but are happy text their problems to a stranger who will try to guide them to professional help

And it's back to work they go! This topic is so important - it may not be glamorous, but it is critical that mental health be addressed. I'm a lot older than most of you and have seen the disintegration of the nuclear family and all sorts of sad back peddling of the social fabric. I was a volunteer parent and was shocked at the sad situations many of the children were in that were unheard of (or extremely rare) a generation before. IMO this lead to issues then passed along in their future children.  Kudo's to the Duke and Duchess who perceive it as a fundamental need. If they can influence a new generation into addressing their mental health just as they do their physical health, they will be doing the world a huge good.

QuoteThe Duke of Cambridge has set out to use football ?to start the biggest ever conversation on mental health? this season, and Friday he spent the day with Hendon Football Club learning about how they are tackling these issues within their club and community.

The Duke, who is president of the Football Association, visited as part of Heads Together?s ?Heads Up? initiative. The programme, which launched at The Community Shield in August, focuses on using the popularity of football to help normalise talking about mental health challenges.

Hendon FC run an innovative mental health project of their own, which they carry out with Brent Early Years Intervention Service, and the duke spent time with the club to hear more about their initiatives.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend Shout?s Crisis Volunteer celebration event at the Troubadour White City Theatre in London on 12th November.

The event brings together people from across the UK who volunteer around the clock with Shout to support people in crisis. As volunteers access their shifts from computers in their own homes, this event will be an excellent opportunity for this virtual community to meet and see the scale of the national network they have joined.

Shout is a 24/7 text support service which was researched and developed by The Royal Foundation as a legacy of the Heads Together Campaign, with a ?3million investment. It was launched by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May 2019. The service is powered by Crisis Text Line. Since the service went live, Shout 85258 Crisis Volunteers have had 145,000 conversations via text with people in crisis, exchanging 6 million messages.

This annual volunteer day is focussed on celebrating the hundreds of trained Crisis Volunteers who operate the 24/7 service taking shifts in their homes across the UK, under clinical supervision. Shout aims to encourage people to reach out for support at an early stage, without fear or shame.

During the visit, the Duke and Duchess will receive a brief update on the scale and impact of Shout. Their Royal Highnesses will hear that 75 per cent of people who contact Shout are under 25, and that the most frequent subjects raised in those conversations are suicide (37 per cent), depression (36 per cent), relationships (29 per cent), anxiety (31 per cent), isolation (19 per cent) and self-harm (17 per cent).

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also meet people who answered Their Royal Highnesses? public appeal to volunteer with the service. An amazing 13,000 people registered an interest with Shout following the appeal and 3,000 enrolled in training. Shout 85258 now has 1,500 Crisis Volunteers active on the platform with more training, graduating and joining the platform each week. Their Royal Highnesses will also meet mental health campaigners, Shout staff members and supporters.

The Duke and Duchess will join Shout volunteers in the theatre to watch a special performance before joining a group photo with volunteers to encourage everyone to spread the word about Shout

The organisation responsible for Shout is Mental Health Innovations. Launched by William in October 2017, over six weeks before H&M?s engagement.

With Peter Fonagy on the board, ?3 mill in total was given from the royal foundation to set it up

Peter Fonagy is a world renown clinical psychologist and is key member of Catherine?s early years initiative. He?s the Chief Executive of the Anna Freud Centre, of which Catherine is royal patron.

So to date if nothing changes in the future, any project with Heads Together the 2 couples will be joining forces to launch, create awareness, etc. that goes with this (all) duties.

QuoteThe Duke of Cambridge has asked whether social media platforms are doing enough to prevent suicide, after meeting the father of a teenager who killed herself having viewed graphic content on Instagram.

William and the Duchess of Cambridge met Ian Russell, father of Molly Russell, who took her own life in November 2017 aged 14.

Mr Russell has said he believes Instagram was partly responsible for her death.

Visiting the Troubadour White City Theatre in west London, William and Kate offered Mr Russell their condolences, and William asked him: 'Do you think companies like Instagram are doing enough?'

On a visit to crisis text charity Shout the prince added: 'Catherine and I, and I know I speak for Harry and Megan as well, couldn't be more proud of what Shout has accomplished.'

Double post auto-merged: November 12, 2019, 02:13:28 PM

QuoteSpeaking after the meeting, Mr Russell said: 'My thoughts on Instagram are, we're grateful that they're doing something but I think they're only really inching along the road, and they need to do a lot more.'

Mr Russell also disclosed that the duke had been in touch with the family earlier this year to offer his support, and added: 'Support from all ends helps, support from the royal family, perhaps, particularly helps.'

The duke and duchess were attending an event with the charity Shout, celebrating its volunteers who use a text service to assist people in crisis.

Since its launch in 2018, 1,500 volunteers have had 145,000 text conversations with people in crisis, exchanging a total of six million messages.

The Cambridges and the Sussexes have been quietly making visits to the Shout headquarters.

Kate Middleton & Meghan Markle's Secret Visits to the Shout Crisis Text Line (https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a29773058/meghan-markle-kate-middleton-shout-text-line-secret-visits/)

QuoteWilliam, Kate, Harry and Meghan were praised today for their work behind the scenes in developing Shout, a crisis text line for those in need. Details of their support when the cameras are not rolling were revealed as William and Kate joined a volunteer celebration event for Shout, which the four young royals launched back in May.

Nancy Lublin, the Founder of Crisis Text Line in the U.S., told T&C that she was ?so grateful? for how the royals have highlighted the service publicly and shared how they have also engaged in under-the-radar visits.

?They have been into our offices, I think, four times, at this point in time, quietly without anyone knowing,? Lublin said about the four young royals.

She added, ?They?ve been to this event without anyone knowing last year. They are really here for the work.?

Describing how the young royals have ?thrown themselves into hard issues,? she said: ?I think they take their role very seriously, really learning about the data. Learning about how things work. I?m so grateful.?

Too often, people feel afraid to admit that they are struggling with their mental health. This fear of prejudice and judgement stops people from getting help and can destroy families and end lives. Heads Together wants to help people feel much more comfortable with their everyday mental wellbeing and have the practical tools to support their friends and family.

Heads Together is a mental health initiative spearheaded by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, which combines a campaign to tackle stigma and change the conversation on mental health with fundraising for a series of innovative new mental health services.

The Royal Foundation is rolling out a range of new mental health programmes to ensure that the right help is available to anyone seeking mental health support, wherever they are and whenever they need it. Each of these programmes includes the development and use of digital technologies to transform signposting to appropriate support and improve the quality and availability of education about mental health.

Mentally Healthy Schools is a free and easy to use website specifically designed to offer primary school teachers greater support and advice, providing reliable and practical resources including 600+ lesson plans, activities, assemblies and more, to make it easier for them to better support their pupils? mental health and wellbeing.

The Mental Health at Work programme has been launched to help everyone in the workplace prioritise mental wellbeing. It consists of two core elements: an employer gateway, an online portal containing curated resources enabling employers to address workplace mental health constructively and proactively, and online SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Employee Training, aimed to equip employees with information and training about workplace mental health, so that they can better support themselves and their colleagues.

The Royal Foundation has also launched a partnership with the Ministry of Defense to improve the mental health of current and former Armed Forces personnel, with a focus on the message that mental fitness is as important as physical fitness.

Shout is a free text messaging service which provides 24/7 support for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. It aims to connects people in need to trained volunteers who provide help at a time when it is most needed; enabling them to move from a moment of crisis to a calm state and form a plan for next steps to find longer-term support.

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited three local organisations based in Wolverhampton which support children and young people with their mental health and wellbeing.

Mental Health Awareness Week is the UK?s national week to raise awareness of mental health, hosted annually by the Mental Health Foundation. This year?s theme is centred around nature and the important role it can play to help improve mental wellbeing, as well as its power to prevent or aid recovery from poor mental health.

Their Royal Highnesses firstly visited The Way Wolverhampton Youth Zone, a local organisation which motivates and inspires young people to transform their lives. The Way allows young people the opportunity to participate in positive and constructive activities and provides them with somewhere to go and someone to talk to. The Duke and Duchess joined a group of young people who use The Way?s services as they took part in a number of wellbeing sessions and met a group of HeadStart ambassadors.

Established by The National Lottery Community Fund, HeadStart is a programme designed to improve the resilience and emotional wellbeing of children and young people by giving them the skills they need to address the challenges of modern life. As part of the programme, The Anna Freud Centre, a Heads Together charity partner of which The Duchess is Patron, and University College London are evaluating evidence about new ways to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people and to prevent serious mental health issues from developing. It includes survey responses from 65,000 children and young people ? including many young people from Wolverhampton, such as those accessing HeadStart support at The Way ? about their mental health and the strengths, skills and social connections that support their wellbeing.

With William and Catherine doing these kinds of events is helping to keep the monarchy on course for the future.  Just seeing how the people react to seeing them and wanting a picture or to shake hands brings people closer to the monarchy after all William is now the heir and with Catherine at his side the people see the future.  This is what part of what the monarchy is all about....bringing both sides together and securing the future.

Prince William opens up about mental health with England footballers ? Royal Central (https://royalcentral.co.uk/uk/prince-william-opens-up-about-mental-health-with-england-footballers-183177/)

QuoteThe Prince of Wales has opened up about mental health with a few of England?s biggest football players in a new episode of ?Game of 5s? ahead of this month?s World Cup.

Joining Prince William are Harry Kane and Declan Rice, who talk about the highs and lows of football as a catalyst for a broader conversation about mental health. The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales collaborated with COPA90, a football media company, to produce the episode.

Kensington Palace shared that the episode ?aims to show that we can all face challenges to our mental health, from those at the top of their game to the fans in the terraces. But through shared interests and common ground, speaking about it doesn?t have to be difficult or lonely ? it can be an everyday topic that we talk openly about in our day to day lives.?

About a month and a half ago, Neil Sean claimed that Harry was 'this close' to make a brouhaha about ''Heads Together'', Harry wanted to go public that HT was HIS idea.  A Sussex team member told Harry not to, that she had fact checked with KP was given a few proofs that it was Kate's idea. Minute meetings with both W and H and the staffers discussing Kate's idea born out of therapy with her entire side of the family in reference to James Middleton, thus calling it 'we did a heads together for my brother. The dates coincide when no one knew about JM's depression, until almost 3 years after he wrote his first article speaking about.

The Sussex narrative according to Neil is that in one of their latest meetings, their team said to be nice and do nicer stuff rather than trashing, ideas for ''new beginings for the DDofMontecito. One of it is championing Mental Health, Neil claims Meghan told Harry in order to champion MH, they needed to PR and send out to the media that Heads Together was HIS idea...that is how that story goes.

I'm doing my  best to put in every appropriate thread the alleged shenanigans.  But clearly IMO the duo like to cause damage to people.

Gossip monger Neil Sean knows nothing, just alleges things in all the YouTube things I?ve ever seen him produce, so why anyone would take his guesses and fantasies seriously is beyond me.

He?s just another member of the media (and an inaccurate one at that) making money out of the Sussexes. The British media would have very little to occupy their extensive network of royal ?experts? chattering on ?Royal? YouTube videos and podcasts if it wasn?t for this couple. Their clickbait would be practically nil. And how Neil Sean would know what Meghan suggests to Harry about Heads Together or anything else, is beyond parody. It?s just plainly ridiculous.

And whether Heads Together was Kate?s idea first or not, both she and William were plainly eager to have Harry and board for the campaign. He did so willingly and his later podcast with Bryony about his own panic attacks and dread of public events etc was such that it gained huge amounts of praise from mental health professionals working in the area of males mental well-being and in the media that it was rightly hailed as a huge step forward. And NEITHER William nor Kate at that time did any interviews or podcasts etc talking about any aspects of their own mental health.
