QuoteHis Majesty The King visited Lunana this morning, and granted Lagthram to the 191 households who are receiving Land Kidu in Goenshari, Punakha.
Traditionally, the people of Lunana migrate south with their animals during the winter months, when it gets too difficult to eke out a living in the extremely harsh climate of Lunana. They live in tents or find rented accommodation in Wangdue and Punakha, allowing their animals to graze while they trade and collect rations to take back in spring.
His Majesty The King granted Khimsa land Kidu to people of Lunana in Goenshari, to ensure that they have safe and comfortable winter homes when they travel south. The land Kidu for building homes was granted in 2019, after which road and power connections were established. A Desuung National Service Water Project team recently completed work to bring water to the site.
"Increasingly, it had become difficult to find a place to stay, and for our animals to graze when we are in the south. His Majesty granted Khimsa land to all the households of Lunana so that we can continue our traditional way of life moving between Lunana and the south without having to worry about where we would live in winter. The people of Lunana are looking forward to start building our winter homes in the land granted by His Majesty this year," said Lunana Gup Kaka.
His Majesty granted tokha to the people of Lunana in Toenchoe, and spoke to them about their experiences with the pandemic and the vaccination programme. His Majesty also offered prayers at the Pelden Lhamoi Lhakhang.

QuoteHis Majesty The King arrived in the capital today after a Royal Tour during which His Majesty visited Punakha, Trongsa, Bumthang, Mongar, Tashiyangtse, and Tashigang.
During the Tour, His Majesty visited De-suung National Service Water Projects and Training Centres of the De-suung Skilling Programmes in these dzongkhags, as well as Colleges and Institutes.
Of the 25 National Service Water Projects initiated since November 2020, 14 have been completed and handed over to the beneficiary communities. His Majesty met the team from the first National Service Water Project at Guma, Punakha, which was inaugurated on September 25. Other ongoing projects that His Majesty visited during the Tour were Tangsibji and Shinyer in Bumthang, Gyalposhing in Mongar, Kheni in Tashiyangtse, and Udzurong in Tashigang.
His Majesty thanked the De-suups for their invaluable service to the nation, which stands to benefit thousands of people across the country. Expressing appreciation for the dedication and hard work of our youth, His Majesty encouraged them to take advantage of the training opportunities created for them through the De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP).
His Majesty visited the ongoing DSP centres in Trongsa, Bumthang, Gyalposhing, and Tashigang. The De-suung Skilling Programme offers a set of multi-level courses by master trainers. These include IT, entrepreneurship, workworking and carpentry, hair and makeup, auto repair, accounting and finance, photography and video, tailoring and fashion, and culinary arts and baking, among numerous others.
His Majesty said that the DSP programmes are for the youth to discover their passion and talent, and asked them to use these opportunities as springboards for their future. Over 1,100 De-suups have joined DSP since the first programmes started in April this year.
His Majesty granted Audiences to the students and faculty of Gyalposhing College of Information and Technology while in Gyalposhing, and the students and faculty of Sherubtse College in Kanglung. His Majesty also met students and faculty of Yonphula Centenary College and the Technical Training Institute- Rangjung.
To the students, His Majesty said that we must focus not on what we can do, but on what we must do- the only way to stay ahead is to unhesitatingly take up even the toughest challenges.
His Majesty said that Colleges are sacred institutions that should empower and benefit generations of people to come. The infrastructure as well as the education in our institutes of learning must be of the highest standards, enabling our students to excel anywhere in the world, and build the future of our aspirations. While work is ongoing to strengthen colleges towards this vision, His Majesty asked the students to work hard to live up to the high expectations that His Majesty has for them.
Before arriving in Thimphu, His Majesty travelled to Chhukha to meet the De-suups of the 46th Batch Accelerated De-suung Training Programme.

Part of the visit included the opening of the One Gewop One Product Shop. This is an initiative of the queen. They were seen visiting it.

QuoteBhutan has a diverse, stunning topography, a vast wealth of ecosystems and indigenous plants, herbs, and unique agricultural products. Having emerged as largely isolated and remote communities, Bhutanese recipes are immensely diverse. Traditional agricultural practices, the pristine environment, clean mountain spring water, fertile soil free from pesticides, and the indigenous knowledge passed down generations make Bhutanese products unique, flavourful, natural and wholesome.

More than half of the Bhutanese population are farmers, who till the land or rear livestock. The farming communities of Bhutan are the repositories of Bhutan?s agricultural wealth, but a major portion of the nation?s poverty is prevalent in rural Bhutan. Agricultural farming has largely been subsistence based, which is gradually being geared towards commercial farming. The access to market and capacity constraints, however, has been the main bottlenecks for communities to prosper.

The One Gewog, One Product (OGOP) initiative of the Queen?s Project Office, is modelled on the One Tambon, One Product (OTOP) of Thailand, and borrows from its best practices.

OGOP aims to boost the local economy and strengthen rural communities, by providing support for value addition of local produce, packaging and market access. It seeks to identify at least one authentic Bhutanese product from each Gewog, finds and plugs the gaps in their value chains and develops high quality products for both domestic and international markets.

Each product chosen to be marketed by OGOP comes from local artisans and a community of farmers, who have received support to grow high-quality crops. Every item has been selected carefully, and processed with age-old wisdom combined with state-of-the-art techniques, to bring you Bhutanese products of the highest quality.

Quote14 October 2021:
His Majesty The King began a Royal Tour of the southern parts of the country. His Majesty granted Audience to the De-suups training in the 46th Batch at Tencholing, and the Tsirang COVID-Task Force today.
Before the tour, His Majesty granted blessings for Dasain Tika at the Lingkana Palace. The Tika, imbued with Royal Blessings, have been sent to all dzongkhags, for the people across the country. On Dasain, Hindu families will exchange the tika, which carries the blessings and protection of elders for their family.
It is tradition for His Majesty to bless the Dasain Tika, which when granted to the people, symbolises the binding together of the nation as members of a single family.

Dasain Tika granted by elders and parents convey special blessings and protection. Dasain marks the victory of the Dharma King Rama, who was an emanation of Vishnu, over the demon Ravana- a victory of good over evil. Dasain tika from His Majesty carries special significance as His Majesty is regarded as an emanation of Vishnu for those celebrating Dasain.
While in Gelephu, His Majesty granted Audiences to the 46th Batch De-suups training at training centres in Pelrithang and Jigmeling, and visited the Gyalsung Training Site being developed in Tareythang.

On November 3 the queen attended an event for the Pema Center. Its an initiative of the queen to help in the battle for metal health  :flower3:

Though Pema is the queen's secondary name, the hospital is not named for her though her initiative. Pema was chosen as the Tibetan word for Lotus. The lotus is renowned for its ability to bloom even in the murkiest waters. A symbol of strength in bleak times.

Quote3 November 2021, Thimphu:
Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen graced the Salhang Tendrel ceremony for The Pema Center- a hospital for mental health and wellbeing within the JDWNRH complex.
A Royal Initiative of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, The Pema Center will be a 60-bedded hospital inclusive of outpatient consultation and counselling, emergency services, treatment and procedure rooms, pharmacy, and inpatient wards.
Addressing the ceremony, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen said that laying the foundation of the Pema Center was to put forth a commitment to build a robust and supportive health care service in the country. Her Majesty stressed on the need to address the gap between the number of people who need mental health care and those who receive it, as well the stigma associated with mental health conditions, which causes hesitation in reaching out for timely support.
Her Majesty said that mental health will be given the National priority that it deserves.
Also speaking at the event, the health minister, Dasho Dechen Wangmo thanked Her Majesty for this royal initiative for mental well-being in Bhutan. Her Majesty?s stewardship of the overarching strategy for mental health and well-being of the people of Bhutan came at a time when such guidance and direction was needed more than ever before, Lyonpo said.
