Consummé Marie Stuart was named after Mary, Queen of Scots.
It is a mutton flavored consummé served with a spoonful of well washed cooked pearly barley, and small cut vegetables of the season.

That sounds Scottish to me but I bet she influenced her kingdom from France where she was married in and spent her  childhood

^ There was a real craze for Mary Queen of Scots and the Tudors in mid 19th century England and I think that's probably when this soup was invented.

Yeah return to historical influences in architecture etc, didnt know about that in food. Mutton sleeves were also funny :orchid:  Catherine de Medici influenced a lot of in France - fork, spices...I'd say Mary Stuart was very French like, because her mother was Guise and she was raised in France but mutton and the rest sounded like UK
