Spanish mayor faces jail for insulting the king

A left-wing mayor in Spain could go to jail for insulting the crown after calling King Juan Carlos "corrupt" and the "son of a traitor".

An investigation was launched this week and Mr Barroso, who has been mayor for 25 years, could be found guilty of "insulting the crown", a crime punishable by up to two years in prison.

Two years??  :blink: Just because he speak his mind?  :o He probably used very strong and offensive words and for that he should have been a little more diplomatic, but jail time? ??? I think is crazy and it brings the laws of Spain a little back in time I think
