[WilliamDaily] Fergie: I can't get a man

Fergie: I can't get a man

The Duchess of York has finally won her battle with her weight but
says she still cannot find a man.

It is now seven years since her divorce from Prince Andrew and more
than 18 months after the end of the most serious relationship she has
had following their split - with Italian aristocrat Count Gaddo della
Gherardesca.

But the Duchess is still single and believes she will have to be very
lucky to find a man willing to take her on with all her baggage.

"To take me on is quite a lot, isn't it?" she said. "You have to take
the world's press. You have to take everything that goes with me,
which is a strong woman. I don't know if anybody out there is going
to be daring enough."

Despite the lack of romance in her life, the Duchess says she has
never felt better. After her highly-publicised weight problems, she
now classes herself as "skinny".

She said: "Skinny is a good word. We do skinny. I have changed my
body shape through exercise, pilates and yoga. I love it. I never
want to go back into fat suits. Once you make that commitment to
yourself, that is your commitment. I really work hard to keep it."

It is not the first time she has complained about how hard it is for
her to find a partner. Last year, as she prepared to move out of the
home she shared with Prince Andrew, she said she believes a man would
have to be "nuts" to want to marry her, adding that she is unlikely
to marry again. The Duchess, 43, said: "Any man would have to take on
an awful lot. There's the public scrutiny, a mad family - the
Fergusons I mean - and two granddaughters of Her Majesty."

Since her divorce in 1996 after a 10-year marriage, the Duchess has
had mixed fortunes. As well as her weight problems, her finances
were, for a time, in serious trouble.

She admitted she was "virtually bankrupt" before turning her life
around by reinventing herself as an author and spokeswoman for Weight
Watchers, as well as promoting Wedgwood pottery.

She now lives with daughters Beatrice, 14, and Eugenie, 12, in a a
four-bedroom, ?4,000-a-month rented house in Windlesham, Surrey, near
her former marital home, Sunninghill Park, where Prince Andrew still
lives.

She is currently launching her next children's book in America. The
new stories are based on Little Red, a ragdoll that became the logo
for Chances for Children charity. On the chatshow Entertainment
Tonight, the Duchess said: "I like to invent stories at every given
turn. It is part of the magic of pixie dust. I think that JM Barrie
was right when he wrote Peter Pan. I do think there is such a thing
as Tinkerbell and pixie dust."

I know a lot of people make fun of her...but I really admire Fergie. She totally turned her life around and made something of herself. Good article.

I agree with u 2. she is so much better off w/o Andrew...but she still shouldn't have named her kids Beatrice and Eugenie...and letting her ex make them wear those God-awful hats...they should spend more time with their cousin Zara, she knows how 2 dress! oops, off topic lol : B)
