Today as the @RoyalMarines celebrate their 358th birthday, The King has become their new Captain General.

His Majesty trained and served alongside the Royal Marines during his Naval career.

I feel greatly honoured to become part of the Corps Family and very much look forward to meeting many of you in the near future. In the meantime, this comes with my heartfelt and special wishes for a very happy 358th birthday.

There were present: the Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP (Prime Minister), the Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP, the Rt Hon Sue-Ellen Braverman MP, the Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP, the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, the Rt Hon Melvyn Stride MP, the Rt Hon Dr Therese Coffey MP and the Rt Hon Mark Harper MP.

Mr David TC Davies MP and Ms Gillian Keegan MP were sworn in as members of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP was sworn First Lord of the Treasury.

The following took the Oath of Office or made affirmation, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office: the Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP (as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice), the Rt Hon Sue-Ellen Braverman MP (as Secretary of State for the Home Department), the Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP (as Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy), the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP (as Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities), the Rt Hon Melvyn Stride MP (as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions), the Rt Hon Gillian Keegan MP (as Secretary of State for Education), the Rt Hon Dr Therese Coffey MP (as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), the Rt Hon Mark Harper MP (as Secretary of State for Transport) and the Rt Hon David TC Davies MP (as Secretary of State for Wales).

After the Council the Rt Hon Oliver Dowden MP had an audience of The King and took the Oath of Office, kissed hands on appointment and received the Seals of Office as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.

His Excellency Mr Nehemia Sekhonyana Bereng was received in audience by The King today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Lesotho in London.

Mrs Bereng was also received by His Majesty.

Her Excellency Ms Susana Herrera was received in audience by The King and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Chile to the Court of St James's.

Mr Kassian Obkircher was also received by His Majesty.

Sir Philip Barton (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) was present.

Senator John Kerry (United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate), Mr Brian Moynihan (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Bank of America) and Ms Anne Finucane (Former Vice Chairman, Bank of America and Chairman of the Board, Bank of America, Europe) were received by The King at Windsor Castle this evening.

At Buckingham Palace His Majesty is firstly joining a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Resettlement of British Asians from Uganda in the United Kingdom and hosting a reception in the State Dining Room.

The King this afternoon gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Arrival of British Ugandan Asians to the United Kingdom.

The King and The Queen Consort this evening gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace for Medallists at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal and The Duke of Gloucester were present.

The King and The Queen Consort this afternoon visited the Victoria and Albert Museum, South Kensington, London SW7, to view the ?Africa Fashion? exhibition and were received by His Majesty?s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), the Chairman of the Museum (Sir Nicholas Coleridge) and Dr Tristram Hunt (Director).

Their Majesties toured the exhibition, escorted by Dr Christine Checinska (Senior Curator, Africa and Diaspora: Textiles and Fashion) and Ms Elisabeth Murray (Project Curator, Africa Fashion), and afterwards attended a Reception.

The Queen Consort today received Mr Joseph Coelho (Children?s Laureate) and Ms Diana Gerald (Chief Executive, Book Trust).
Her Majesty, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Halton, received Group Captain Fergus Garwood upon assuming his appointment as Station Commander.
The Princess Royal, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

And he seems to just be in his element - he is really enjoying greeting and interacting with everyone.

KCIII and the QC were nearly hit with eggs by a protestor while in York today. The protestor was arrested. Several in the large crowd shouted "Shame on you!" and chanted "God Save the King" in response.

The King this morning visited the Headquarters of Morrisons, Hilmore House 71 Gain Lane, Bradford, and was received by His Majesty?s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Mr Edmund Anderson) and the Chief Executive Officer of Wm Morrison Supermarkets Limited (Mr David Potts).

His Majesty, escorted by the Chief Executive Officer, viewed Morrisons' farming and retail initiatives and met farmers' representatives from The Prince's Countryside Fund.

The King viewed Morrisons' "in-store market" stalls, was shown new produce in the test and development kitchen and met members of staff.

His Majesty this afternoon attended a Reception for young people and members of the Bradford community at Bradford City Hall, Centenary Square, Bradford, and was received by the Lord Mayor of Bradford (Councillor Martin Love) and the Chief Executive of Bradford Council (Ms Kirsten England).

The King afterwards met members of Leeds' Caribbean community at Leeds Central Library, Calverley Street, and Leeds Art Gallery, the Headrow, Leeds, and was received by the Chief Executive of Leeds City Council (Mr Tom Riordan).

His Majesty, escorted by the Chief Executive, viewed a selection of "the World Re-Imagined Globes" and met young representatives from "Child Friendly Leeds" before viewing the "From Romance to Rebellion" exhibition.

The King later met representatives from the Leeds financial sector at Leeds Building Society, 26 Sovereign Street, Leeds, and was received by the Lord Mayor of Leeds (Councillor Robert Gettings).

By command of The King, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Joao Vale de Almeida at 107 Pall Mall, London SW1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the European Union to the Court of St James's.

The King and The Queen Consort this morning arrived at Micklegate Bar, York, and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs Johanna Ropner) and the Lord Mayor of York (Councillor David Carr), who surrendered to The King and The Queen Consort the Sword of the City, which Their Majesties returned to him.

The King and The Queen Consort afterwards drove to York Minster and were received at the Great West Door by the Archbishop of York (the Most Reverend and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell) and the Acting Dean of York Minster (Canon Michael Smith).

Their Majesties attended a Service to mark the Unveiling and Blessing of a Statue of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The King, accompanied by The Queen Consort, afterwards unveiled a statue of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the West Front of the Minster.

The King, accompanied by The Queen Consort, having been received at the Mansion House, 45 High Street, Doncaster, by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Dame Hilary Chapman) and the Civic Mayor of Doncaster (Councillor Ian Pearson), this afternoon conferred City Status on Doncaster and subsequently attended a Reception for members of the local community.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria visited His Majesty this afternoon. The King held a Council at 4.30pm.
