King Charles and Queen Camilla oversee the building of safer youth communities in East London ? Royal Central

QuoteKing Charles and Queen Camilla spent their Tuesday in Eastern London to learn about the work of Project Zero WF.

Their Majesties were welcomed by a crowd made up mainly of children, teenagers and young adults, who all belong to the age range that constitutes the main target for the project.

Once inside, the King and Queen listened to staff members and people who are part of the programme to see how it impacts their lives.

Project Zero?s main aim is to see a whole year with zero deaths through knife crime, an issue that has long been plaguing the United Kingdom and London in particular.

For that, the project offers several different activities aimed at engaging ?young people in positive activities to promote social inclusion and reduce anti-social/offending behaviour.?

Those activities include organising community events, holiday programs and even managing media and networking operations for the project.

Their second state goal is to ?raise the aspirations of young people in reaching their full potential and grow into well-adjusted adults.?

Queen Camilla urges older people to check their risk of osteoporosis ? a cause close to her heart ? Royal Central

QuoteIn a statement, Her Majesty said: ?Both my grandmother and my mother died as a result of osteoporosis. At the time, the disease was seldom discussed, rarely diagnosed and was usually acknowledged as an unavoidable part of growing older.

?Now, thankfully, we know far more about the causes, symptoms and available treatments.?

The chief executive of ROS, Craig Jones said: ?Osteoporosis will affect every other mother; every other grandmother. And too many of us still think men are unaffected. The truth is we all have bones and, if we arm ourselves with knowledge, we can keep them stronger for longer.

?It all starts with people understanding their bone health risk and taking action.?

I?ve just been looking with bemusement at the works of art being targeted by these protestors in past weeks. Picasso, Van Gogh attacked ; besides a bit of publicity in the media on that day, what?s the point? It only brings confusion and negativity from the rest of the population. Obviously waxworks of King Charles aren?t on the same level as hugely important artworks but reaction from the public is likely to be the same.

And some waste of food as well!

His All Holiness Bartholomew I, the Ecumenical Patriarch was received by His Majesty this afternoon.

The King of Morocco spoke to The King via telephone this evening.

The President of the Republic of Turkey spoke to His Majesty via telephone.

@Curryong -I absolutely agree with you. This is just a vain and frankly stupid attempt to gain attention but it's largely negative. I don't see it advancing their cause at all. Fortunately most of the targeted artwork is behind glass, but there's still a big mess to clean up and as you pointed out a waste of food. I have read that some of those carrying out the attacks are paid professional protestors.  <_<

QuoteMadame Tussauds addressed the incident in a statement shared on social media, confirming that security intervened and that the exhibit is temporarily closed.

"At approximately 10:50 am today (Oct 24) protestors entered the 'World Stage' Zone at Madame Tussauds London and appeared to throw what is believed to be cake at our figures of The Royal Family," museum officials tweeted.

"Our security team dealt with the incident quickly and we are working closely with the Metropolitan Police on this matter. The attraction remains open, with our Royal Family set closed temporarily," Madame Tussauds added.

Yes, you did, sara. Thanks to both of you for your agreement on this issue. Soaking artworks with tomato soup etc  and waxworks with mashed potato just seems utterly pointless to me.

Are these attacks on works of art capturing hearts and minds? The author of this article doesn?t think so. (And neither do I, for what it?s worth.)
