The Queen will miss this summer's Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony to be held in Birmingham but the monarch will be represented by Charles, Camilla and the Cambridges.
Quote
Senior figures around the sporting competition have told the Daily Mail that due to her increasing frailty the 96-year-old monarch, who is also Head of the Commonwealth, is not expected to attend.

The Prince of Wales is set to stand in for his mother at the opening ceremony next month, with an extensive turnout from other members of the Royal Family given that the competition is on home ground.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are likely to attend on several days, possibly along with their children. The Queen has decided to not attend the Commonwealth Games. The PoW, DssoC and the Cambridges are expected to attend.

I read on DailyMail?s website that the queen will miss the opening of the Commonwealth Games in July. Charles will go in her place
I think I'm the only one here that has written a letter to the Queen and got a letter back from the Lady in Waiting..... :P :happy15: :wed:

Gert?s Royal Twitter says

QuoteThe annual Order of Garter is June 13th. I think unlikely the Queen will attend the actual service at Saint George. But she might still do the Lunch & investment of new members beforehand.
If HM Queen Elizabeth II can?t attend order of the garter and HM Queen Elizabeth II sent her children and grandchildren in her behalf

Thrilled to see that these ceremonies are continuing to return in 2022.
The last service was in 2019 when the Kings of Spain and The Netherlands were installed as "stranger" nights.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the Duchess of Cornwall in her robes and regalia.  However, it was always fun to see the three Royal wives (Camilla, Sophie, and Catherine) enjoying time together as spectators. There was always a nice photo of them.

The Sun reporting Prince Andrew won't be at tomorrow's Garter service. Apparently Charles and William intervened with The Queen.

Not the worst plan.  Andy needs to keep to the shadows and realize his days in the public eye as a Royal are over.

Fortunately Charles and William stopped Andrew before he could step out in front of everyone....some people just never learn from their mistakes   in life  and continue  to make the same mistake over and over again...arrogance seems to be his middle name.
