Their Majesties celebrated Dunfermline's new City status, and met members of Scotland's South Asian communities to thank them for their contribution to national life during their first visit to Scotland since the end of Royal Mourning.

I would guess the economy would be top of the agenda during the weekly audience, for the next few months at least. Most First World economies are suffering (Third World ones are shrunken more than usual) but the UK economy is virtually imploding as we speak. The Bank of England doesn?t intervene in the markets for nothing and has done so just in the past week.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, accompanied by The Raja Permaisuri Agong, visited The King at Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

The King held a Council at Buckingham Palace at 4pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury), the Rt Hon Sir Robert Buckland MP (Secretary of State for Wales), the Rt Hon Alister Jack MP (Secretary of State for Scotland), the Rt Hon Ben Wallace MP (Secretary of State for Defence) and the Rt Hon Christopher Heaton-Harris MP (Secretary of State for Northern Ireland).

The Rt Hon Edward Argar MP, the Rt Hon Simon Case, the Rt Hon Stephen McPartland MP, the Rt Hon John Mercer MP, the Rt Hon Christopher Philp MP and the Rt Hon Thomas Tugendhat MP were sworn in as members of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Graham Stuart MP made affirmation as a member of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office as First Lord of the Treasury.

The Rt Hon Christopher Heaton-Harris MP took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The King at Buckingham Palace this evening.

The King this afternoon officially reopened the Burrell Collection, Pollok Country Park, 2060 Pollokshaws Road, Bellahouston, Glasgow, following its six-year-long renovation and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Jacqueline McLaren, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

His Majesty, escorted by Ms Jane Rowlands (Senior Museums Manager), toured the Collection and met members of staff, volunteers, trustees and supporters.

The Queen Consort this morning met Independent Domestic Violence Advisers, survivors of domestic abuse and representatives of the domestic abuse service at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, 369 Fulham Road, London SW10, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The King this morning met families settled in Aberdeen from Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine at Aberdeen Town House, Broad Street, Aberdeen, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Aberdeen (Councillor David Cameron, the Lord Provost).

The King also met key workers who have helped support refugee communities in Aberdeen and viewed a choir performance.

The President of the Gabonese Republic visited The King at Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

The Queen Consort today attended British Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire.

The Queen Consort this evening presented the Booker Prize for Fiction and attended a Dinner at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1, and was received by Ms Roxane Zand (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The King and The Queen Consort this morning visited Project Zero Waltham Forest Community Interest Company, the Outset Centre, Community Youth Hub, 2A Grange Road, London E17, and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), the Founder and Operational Manager of Project Zero (Mr Stephen Barnabis), Mr Rico Thai-Richards (Project Zero Youth Champion) and the Mayor of Waltham Forest (Councillor Karen Bellamy).

His Majesty, escorted by the Founder and Operational Manager, and Her Majesty, escorted by the Youth Champion, toured the Centre, hearing about the programmes and services for young people provided by Project Zero and meeting members of staff and service users.

Mr Christopher Pope was received by The King at Buckingham Palace this afternoon upon relinquishing his appointment as Co-Director of the Professional Teaching Institute.

The King was represented by the Earl of Rosslyn at the Funeral of Mr John Bowes-Lyon which was held at the Oratory, Brompton Road, London SW7, this afternoon.

The Queen Consort was represented by Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles.
