Kate Middleton WILL NOT be joining husband Prince William on Africa tour | Royal | News | Express.co.uk

QuoteKATE will not be joining her husband Prince William on the next scheduled royal tour because of personal reasons close to the Duke of Cambridge?s heart, it has been revealed.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 36, and her husband William, 36, have often embarked on royal tours together during their seven years of married life.

But second-in-line to the throne William will embark on a tour of Africa on Monday September 24, which was arranged by the UK Government, without Kate.

It is understood the future King and his wife prefer to keep certain tours and projects, that are close to their hearts, individual from joint state tours or visits.

Kate has often been a champion of mental health rights, especially for children, while William has followed in his father Prince Charles? footsteps as a champion of wildlife and nature.

His trip will be a series of engagements to fight against the illegal trade of wildlife, with the Duke embracing his role as President for charities United For Wildlife and Tusk Trust, which both protect endangered species in Africa.

But on Thursday, OK! Magazine?s royal expert Christina Reeves explained the African trip would see the future king travel alone, due to it being a "personal project" that involves a subject close to his heart.

Mrs Reeves said: ?Typically William has always worked solo in his fight against illegal wildlife trade, which is why we wouldn?t see Kate join him on a trip like this or him joining Kate on her own personal projects, such as promoting the importance of perinatal, maternal and children's mental health.?

The royal expert revealed Prince William's schedule will remain private, meeting leaders and key figures on his travels.

William will visit African nations Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya when he heads to the continent next week.

Although the Duke is visiting troops for the Irish Guards, he will also be promoting a conference against the illegal wildlife trade.

Kensington Palace tweeted on Thursday: ?The Duke of Cambridge will visit Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th September.

?The private working trip is being made as @United4Wildlife President and @Tusk_org Patron ahead of the 2018 Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference in London #EndWildlifeCrime.?

It is also thought that the Duchess will remain on maternity leave for the rest of the month, as she focuses on her three children, including newborn Prince Louis.

Kate and William apparently have strong ideas about how they will raise their children.

The royals have three children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis who was born in April.

Yahoo! Lifestyle reported via US Weekly that, much like Wiliam?s mother, Diana Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess want to raise their children very normally.

The source said: ?William and Kate very much prioritise bringing up the children in as normal an environment as possible."

Duchess of Cambridge cant leave baby Louis for reasons but she cant back and forth between feeding hours for baby Louis and trips to Africa it?s unfair but let Duke of Cambridge going alone its very personal for Royals on trips to Africa since young Monarchy Elizabeth to Kenya in 1952

While the Cambridges don't make too many public statements on George, Charlotte and Louis I'm sure that more than one parent understood his comment. Regarding the Cambridge children joining their parents on future tours, I suspect that those trips might be limited to designated school vacation time in the future.

Aww...uninterrupted sleep for the parents of young children...it will be a few more years before this occurs. :) I suspect that Catherine is nursing Louis at night still, so eventually that will come to an end. Then the years of bad dreams, the flu, colds, stuffy noses, coughs etc...that come during the pre-school and primary school years are ahead. Even when your kids are older children, teens and young adults most parents I know still awaken if they hear someone coughing and up during the night.
With only one child care provider (Nanny Maria) even she has hours that she is required to sleep and have daily and even extended time off so she can be prepared to handle any daytime and evening duties when both parents are away. Like many of the other royal parents in Europe, there has been a shift in  the last decades that the royal parents want to be more hands on than their predecessors.  :)

Im sure they could get another Nanny if they wanted one...but possilbly wile K's on maternity leave they make do with one.

Rare comment? That is odd. It's his child. Why would it be rare to talk about one's child?

As i
Because he probably wants his relationship with his children to be largely private.  He tells occasional stories and jokes about them, but Im sure he wants to keep their relationship as something he doesn't share with the Press....

Prince William speaks Swahili to Tanzanian President John Magufuli ahead of the Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference - ITV News

Double post auto-merged: September 27, 2018, 09:21:12 PM

Quote

The Duke of Cambridge exchanged Swahili greetings with Tanzanian President John Magufuli as he visited the country for the second time in 18 years on Thursday.

Prince William managed to say "Habari za Asubuhi" ("How is your day") to the African dignitary.

Speaking at the State House in Dar Es Salaam, William said he was delighted to return the East African country.

"It's been over 18 years since I was last here and I am looking forward to seeing as much of the beautiful country as I can and seeing as many people as I can and it's a real honour to be back here."

The trip comes ahead of the Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference, which will be held in London next month in an effort to encourage greater international co-operation to protect endangered species from the threat of extinction.

The conference will focus on tackling the illegal wildlife trade as an organised crime, building coalitions between countries and shutting down markets for illegal wildlife products.

so perhaps she did't want to.. she would prefer to stay home with her baby...

I believe that it is was a mutual decision for her to remain back in London with the three children especially with Catherine very likely nursing young Louis. Considering the nature of the visit, the BRF likely believed  that it was unnecessary for the couple to travel to these three nations. This working trip focuses upon his conservation oriented patronages: Tusk Trust and United For Wildlife along with at least one visit to the Irish Guards based in Kenya. Married royals often take on solo overseas trips together but sometimes they go solo. For example Prince Edward was recently in the Carolinas while his wife stayed at home with their school aged children. Previously, his wife Sophie was the one who was dispatched overseas while he remained home with Louise and James.

Throughout the years we've seen  royal fathers and mothers in the UK, Asia, Europe and ME who have young or school age children travel solo on overseas trips. CP Mary and Queen Maxima were recently in NYC for the UN summit. Both women have school age children and their royal spouses stayed at home with  the kids.  :)

Unconfirmed reports from NZ, Prince William will be travelling to NZ

Quote

A senior member of the British royal family - quite possibly Prince William - will attend a national memorial event to commemorate those killed in the Christchurch mosque assaults.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern last week said there would be a memorial. The event is likely to be on Friday.
The Herald on Sunday has confirmed at least one member of the royal family would attend.

He has strong ties to New Zealand and paid a visit to Christchurch soon after the devastating February 2011 earthquake. He and Kate also visited the city during their 2014 visit.

I wish that no one had to visit NZ to attend the memorial, but I'm glad that there are plans for someone to be present.

Safe journey, William. That's a lot of miles on fairly short notice, but I'm sure the NZ'ers will be touched and comforted by this sincere.

Is he really flying to Australia for a two-day visit?  Wow!

TLLK

@Princess Cassandra - Actually he'll be in New Zealand to pay respects on behalf of QEII/UK government regarding the mosque massacre. However I wouldn't be surprised if he participates in an Anzac day service/ event.

Curryong

It takes a long time to come to Australia and NZ from Britain. Almost a day by plane. Short flights to this part of the world by members of the RF have been done before, though. Prince Charles flew to Melbourne with the then British PM Harold Wilson in December 1967 for the memorial service for Harold Holt, our PM who had disappeared, believed drowned ten days before.

In those days it would have been an extremely long journey. They arrived on the 21st December, attended the service the next day, as Britain's official representatives, and left afterwards in order to get back to the UK for Xmas.
