I'm surprised that a visit to Belfast has been suggested by the media this far in advance. Typically any official announcement of a visit to Northern Ireland by any member of the BRF would not shared until a few days before the visit. Now while I do expect the couple to visit NI, I won't believe it until the palace releases an announcement.

I think the couple were going to visit Belfast on the date suggested by the article. However KP probably somewhat naively didn't believe that people there wouldn't put two and two together about preparations and wouldn't talk about it. As usual with these things, the gossip got back to the ever-flapping ears of London-based tabloid journalists. I do think Harry and Meghan will still visit Belfast. Because of security concerns though, it may not now be on that particular date, which will be a bit of a shame.

Yes I believe that they'll go to NI in the spring before the wedding, but now I wonder if things might have to be altered due to this news .

The crowds were huge & were only given a 90 minute notice. The BRF are loving Meghan & Harry for bringing good attention to them unlike the heirs.

There was nobody, no crowds, no barriers, no security operation when this crowd meet and greet is planned, just the children and adults involved in the 3 engagements and indoors. Video and aerial views!

There were police around, police outriders etc. Saw photos of them. The DM showed crowds gathering near the pub where they had lunch, in spite of no advance warning. There was a video on another forum that showed people cheering and calling out to them as they walked into the pub.
