Unfortunately Norway has confirmed the neither King Harald or Queen Sonja will be in attendance tomorrow. I am assuming that CP Haakon is on standby as a possible Regent if needed.

The Queen is expected to attend the Duke of Edinburgh's memorial service at @wabbey later today.

We understand some of Prince Philip's older great-grandchildren may also attend so they have the chance to honour their "much loved" great-grandfather.

@PrincessOfPeace and @sara8150 Many thanks to you both for keeping us updated today on the Service of Thanksgiving. It was wonderful to see the late DoE honored with such a stirring service attended by his family, his former staff, his friends, and the representatives from his hundreds of patronages/charities and military appointments. The impressive number of reigning and non-reigning royals (many of whom are related to him) is IMO a testament to the esteem that they hold for him and the Queen.

There was a sweet little exchange between two Princesses today during the service as Princess Charlotte looked back towards Princess Beatrice and they shared a smile. It's always a treat to see the BRF in these candid little moments which remind me that at the heart is still a loving family. Glad to see that the older great-grandchildren (those over the age of 6) were there today and it's understandable why the under sixes were not present.

:happyuk: If I had to find one blog post that seemed to include every aspect of the Service of Thanksgiving, I believe that this one has won the #1 spot. While it's from "What Kate Wore," it barely touches upon what Catherine wore yesterday but it has incredible detailed and up close photos of the participants yesterday including identifications on what the British royal ladies were wearing from QEII to her youngest granddaughter Lady Louise. Also in the post are videos from the service.

The Service of Thanksgiving for The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was held in Westminster Abbey this morning.

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Prince George of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, The Duke of York with Princess Beatrice, Mrs Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Eugenie, Mrs Jack Brooksbank and Mr Jack Brooksbank, The Earl and Countess of Wessex with The Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and Viscount Severn, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Mr Peter Phillips, Mr and Mrs Michael Tindall, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and other Members of the Royal Family and Members of The Duke of Edinburgh?s Family, was present.

Members of Foreign Royal Families and other Foreign Representatives attended.

The Dean of Westminster conducted the Service.
The Dean of Windsor gave an Address.

The Archbishop of Canterbury pronounced the Blessing.

In so many ways this service was touching but what spoiled it for me was Prince Andrew wanted to be front and center and I believe he upstaged both his mother in her grief and his father's memory. It was really unfortunate.

I definitely believe he should have been there, but it should have been low key and not, as you say, front and center. After all, she would have had no problem asking Charles or Edward to do the honors. Many times Camilla has walked alone while Charles is in attendance with the Queen. This shows her mindset. I think she may spend her last years being very close to Andrew precisely because she is his mother and he is her disgraced but still loved son, but also because everyone else is busy doing the royal work of the monarchy. But I dearly hope she keeps him behind the scenes. Also, I doubt she will be so generous to Harry, the other disgraced royal.

Yes I?m agreeing with you but Duke of York and Duke of Sussex is no longer HRH or any duties under by HM Queen Elizabeth II but Duke of York help his 95 year old ailing mother the Queen Elizabeth II walk from car to seat but two heirs Duke of Cambridge and Prince Charles not pleasure with Duke of York

Andrew has a habit of pushing himself forward, though. I remember a few years ago at a Trooping he pushed himself to the front of the balcony in his Grenadier Guards uniform, placing himself next to his mother the Queen, and, because of his bulk, blocking everyone behind him from sight. The vanity of the man is extraordinary.
