Princesses and glamorous fashionistas have stepped out to discover next winter's style trends at different fashion shows as the year's first fashion weeks kicked off in places like London, Milan and Copenhagen — Paris is coming up on March 4th.

When the sophisticated ladies attended last year's fall fashion weeks, one of the biggest trends on the runways everywhere for spring 2015, were soft lightweight kimono-inspired coats — a trend that Spain's Queen Letizia has picked up on.

As she and husband King Felipe welcomed Colombia's President, Juan Manuel Santos, and his wife, María Clemencia Rodríguez Múnera, to the Royal Palace of El Pardo in Madrid on Sunday, Queen Letizia donned a brand new black single-breasted duster coat.

King Felipe of Spain and his wife Queen Letizia stepped out to welcome Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos to Madrid today.

The royals laughed together as they arrived for the official welcoming ceremony at El Pardo palace outside Madrid.

Letizia, 42, who looked chic in a nude skirt and blouse with black detailing, walked with the Colombian first lady Maria Clemencia Rodriguez during the event.

Spain's King Felipe VI hails Colombian peace process

Spain's King Felipe VI on Monday assured Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos that he can rely on "the full support of Spain" in the "noble proposition" of achieving peace in the South American country.

Felipe made this commitment to Colombia's efforts to strike a peace accord with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, guerrillas in a speech he delivered at the gala dinner held for Santos in the Royal Palace in Madrid during his state visit.

Accompanied by Queen Letizia and speaking before about 100 invited guests from various institutions, as well as Spain's political, economic and social sectors, including Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, the monarch said that the progress in the dialogue under way for the past two years in Cuba was "very encouraging."

Queen of style! Letizia of Spain dazzles in diamond tiara and grey lace gown to host dinner in honour of the Colombian president

The Duchess of Cambridge isn't the only European royal who raids her wardrobe for special occasions.

Queen Letizia of Spain wore an elegant grey dress by Spanish designer Felipe Varela at an an official gala dinner for the Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos and his wife, Maria Clemencia Rodriguez de Santos on Monday night.

She and husband King Felipe VI hosted the Latin American leader at the splendid Royal Palace in Madrid, with full pomp and state.
