QuoteEveryone applauded painter Juan José Vicente Ramirez, when Queen Sofia presented him with the 50th Queen Sofia Painting and Sculpture Award in Madrid on Monday.
The award ceremony took place at the Archive and Regional Library of the Community of Madrid, and Mr Ramirez received the award for his work 'Interior Woodwork' — a mixed media painting on wood.
After the ceremony, the Queen visited the exhibition that contains 53 different artworks — 37 paintings and 16 sculptures — by the artists participating in the contest. The works can be seen at the Regional Archives of the Community of Madrid until March 10th.
