A UNIQUE outdoor learning space at a Middlesbrough academy was given the royal seal of approval when the Duke of Kent paid a visit.
The red carpet was laid out at Macmillan Academy for the arrival of HRH Prince Edward The Duke of Kent yesterday.
He was visiting Macmillan Academy primarily to find out about its outdoor learning curriculum.
Greeted by Major Peter Scrope, High Sheriff of North Yorkshire and his wife, and Lord Crathorne, Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, plus Macmillan's principal Phil Latham, The Duke of Kent was then taken on a tour of the Macmillan building, where he was able to meet students and staff and see Year 9 pupils using the academy's high ropes course at its Centre for Outdoor Learning.
