Title: Duchess of Cornwall Attends the National Harvest Service in Birmingham
Post by: cinrit on October 20, 2014, 10:24:39 PM
QuoteThe Duchess of Cornwall wore a regal shade of dark blue to attend the National Harvest Service in Birmingham.

Beaming from under a matching velvet hat the 67-year-old met dignitaries and clergy outside St Philip's Cathedral before heading inside where she was greeted by schoolchildren who showed her their harvest boxes of food which will be sent to the Birmingham Central Food Bank for distribution.

The Duchess of Cornwall looked resplendent in a blue ruffled dress which she paired with a matching velvet hat, and her favourite pearl necklace.  The fashion conscious Duchess gave the outfit a more youthful twist by adding a white collar and cuffs.

Like the idea that the harvest boxes are being donated to a food bank. Camilla is sticking with tried and true navy blue today.

QuoteNational Harvest Service

The Duchess of Cornwall attended the British Food Fordnight's 'National Harvest Service'. Schoolchildren from across the country presented boxes of harvest produce, which they had grown themselves at Birmingham Cathedral.

On arrival Her Royal Highness was met by the Dean of Birmingham, The Very Reverend Catherine Ogle and other dignitaries including the Bishop of Birmingham, The Right Reverend David Urquhart before the service commenced.

Other well-known people who attended the Service include Chris Collins, Blue Peter Gardener, Olivier Blanc, son of Raymond Blanc and Glynn Purnell, the owner and chef at Purnell's, one of Birmingham's Michelin starred restaurants.

After the Service The Duchess of Cornwall met with schoolchildren, along with their harvest boxes and people involved in the Service.
