Title: Prince George's Trip to Australia and New Zealand with The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Post by: PrincessOfPeace on April 07, 2014, 03:06:15 AM
QuoteHis mother is know for being a fashion trendsetter and just hours after he touched down in Sydney, it appears young Prince George is following in her footsteps.

The Duke of Cambridge was seen holding a kangaroo bag for his son as he waited to board a flight to New Zealand.

The Australian Koala Foundation is one of the stockists of the bag and sold out of its remaining stock of the bag this morning.

Prince George of Cambridge's cuddly kangaroo backpack has sold-out just hours after his father Prince William debuted the item on his arrival in Sydney on Monday.

The eight-month-old bag features the Australian animal carrying a joey and now parents have gone out of their way to order the item online at the Australian Koala Foundation website it seems.

Vendors have been forced to display a 'This product is out of stock or unavailable' message to those hoping their tot will be as fashionable as Kate Middleton's little boy.

Customers flocked the purchase the carrier when images emerged of the Duke and Duchess taking the tiny royal onto Wellington, New Zealand for the next leg of their journey.

QuoteAt just eight months old, the Prince had the eyes of the world upon him as the family arrived in New Zealand.

And he looked to be coping with the attention well as he calmly faced the media as the Royals touched down in Wellington International airport.

He has only been photographed in public on a small handful of occasions  - most notably when his proud parents introduced him to the world's press outside the hospital where he was born.

There are likely to be a number of photos from the tour which will document the Prince's first Royal trip.

William and Kate will be staying in the Wellington area, where they will have a break from their engagements tomorrow.

On Wednesday, they will be joined by George at an event attended by nurses, parents and young children from the Plunket parents' group.

I liked the coat too  :blowkiss: at least it's not beige .
Did anyone feel the way Kate held George was wrong while I was reading comments the criticism was heavy on how she held George , plus some added comments  from my mum who literally demonstrated with a pillow saying the babies head should face the back with the child leaning on her shoulder ...idk for me it was fine , I've held babies like that so ...

George is feisty but it comes accross as they not being used to holding him much and Kate being the one brave enough to try, William doesn't even try to hold his baby, oddly enough...

We don't know how much Kate holds her baby, nor do we know that William doesn't try to hold him.  Didn't we see William holding him at his Christening?

As for how Kate is holding him, we don't know anything about that, either.  If he were younger, Kate holding him towards her would be appropriate, but at his age, he doesn't need to rest his head on his mother's shoulder ... he's old enough to hold it up himself.  Perhaps that's the way he prefers being held ... maybe he likes seeing where he's going.

George looks like a feisty little guy. Even when Kate held him with his legs and hips toward her, his little body twisted around to see where he was going. I think he must like to be held facing forward.

He's obviously not an infant whose head needs to be supported all the time. He looks to be a big, healthy baby, and he wants to see what's going on. I love babies like that!

He's adorable!

She is his  mother.
She  ,like  goodmothers, knowtheir  kids.
I think she was holding him.  Babies his age  cannot miss  a thing!!!!
The wind blowing. People.  They  are  nosy  little  beings and cannot miss  a  thing, LOL!!
They have to see everything all the time.

He  is a cute baby  as babies are  . He  is a big  boy!!!

With K  in heels and going down the  steps and smiling,  yeah, maybe a stroller  so  he  could see would have been ok.
No , she did not make  amistep.
If she would have, PW  would  have  caught her, but she would  have  gladly  taken a  broken leg or anything happening to her baby.  She also  would  have held onto  to him  so tightly as  paretns do. You might fall, but  your  child  will not fall.

The christening  pics  were  good.
The best one was the one with K and PW  looking  down at  him and he  looking  up clearly  smiling at his mother. he , no doubt , knows his mother.
No doubt, he  knows  his  grandparents   Mids  very  well too.
Just like  babies we  know in our real lives , I bet if  you saw him in private  and his grandparents Mids were there, he would smile, reach  out  his cubby  baby    arms for them.  When he  sees his mother or PW, no doubt,he smiles and reaches out  for them.
Take at the end  of each of the toour days, when the nanny  has him and the  D and D  of Cam   return  , you bet he  smiles and reaches  out for them.

Aside  from BRF  thing, it  is  a case of  simply  a  baby  and his parents.

QuoteAt just eight months old Prince George is already stealing the limelight away from his parents as he gets his first taste of the spot light as they embark on their tour of New Zealand and Australia.

However while the presence of the future king is clearly delighting the crowds, and no doubt giving great joy to his doting parents, such a long and arduous schedule is likely to take its toll on the youngster.

His parents possible worry about how their son will handle the tour will be exacerbated by the fact that he is teething - with several gnashers clearly visible as he smiled and gurgled at Wellington Military Terminal on the first day of their official tour to Australia.

QuoteThe historic New Zealand House will be where the Duke and Duchess stay during the first leg of their royal tour, which begins today.

William and Kate landed in Wellington this morning, and made their way to the the grand property, where they will occupy a guest suite next to eight-month-old Prince George, who will have his own room.

Outside the 45,000sq-ft property, the royal couple were treated to a traditional Maori greeting on the lawn of Government House, which underwent a two-year £22m makeover, reopening 2011.

QuotePrince George and proud parents Prince William and Kate landed in the capital Wellington and even a wardrobe malfunction couldn't keep the duchess from losing her composure

Her royal thighness the Duchess of Cambridge had a Marilyn Monroe moment when she breezed into New Zealand yesterday with Prince George.

Kate's coat and dress were blown high above her knees by a gust of wind as she stepped off the plane.

But the unflappable duchess, who had George in her arms, quickly regained her composure as the royals melted hearts on the first day of their tour.

George and proud parents Prince William and Kate touched down in the capital Wellington as rain fell just after midday local time.

Does anyone else find it odd that the press keeps referring to George as the future King? Yes, it is accurate... But William is also a future King, and far closer to the job than George is. I suppose I feel bad that he is already being characterized by his position in the line than anything else.

IMO, I think the negative comments are greatly reduced when the media reports concentrate on George versus William... This gap year and Kate's lack of work have done their reputations no favors, their dedicated fans obviously see no fault in them, unfortunately, they are not the only newspaper readers... I think it is a case of subtly hailing George as the savior of the Monarchy because calling William the future King generates the kind of comments that neither the Royal reporters nor the Palace wants. Focus on Future King George, get good pr and get much more pro-Monarchy good vibes than William would get... Adding to the fact that although pr savy and polite William does not have the charisma his mother had just the goodwill from being her son...

Prince George to carry out first royal engagement

QuoteHE only has two bottom front teeth so far but Prince George is set to undertake his first official royal engagement tomorrow at the tender age of only eight months after taking the world by storm.

As an introduction to the life of duty that awaits him, the importance of the occasion will certainly go over his head but it will be closely followed around the planet.

The future King and his parents will get to meet 10 other sets of parents and their children  - six girls and four boys all born around the same time as George - at a party inside Government House in Wellington to celebrate the work of the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society, a child welfare charity.

When William was George's age, the media constantly referred to him as "future king", too.  I don't think it's an insult to the father (or the grandfather, in this case).

QuotePrince George's First Royal Tour: The Kid's a Natural

He can't even walk yet but Prince George took a momentous step on Monday in what's set to be a lifetime of royal duties.
When he arrived in Wellington, New Zealand, he was carried off the plane by his ever-glamorous mother and greeted by a long a line of dignitaries, including Prime Minister John Key. This was Prince George's first official public engagement and he wasn't in the slightest bit fazed by it, despite the epic journey from London. He was perfectly happy, a natural.

This is a family not just born into monarchy, but made for it. And if things carry on like this for the rest of their visit Down Under, the Republican movements in both New Zealand and Australia may have some catching up to do.

QuoteWhat a Smile! Those Tiny Teeth Look Adorable but George's Gnashers Are Probably Giving the Royal Family a Few Sleepless Nights

At just eight months old Prince George is already stealing the limelight away from his parents as he gets his first taste of the spot light as they embark on their tour of New Zealand and Australia.

His parents possible worry about how their son will handle the tour will be exacerbated by the fact that he is teething - with several gnashers clearly visible as he smiled and gurgled at Wellington Military Terminal on the first day of their official tour to Australia.

Kate and William's unusual decision to base their tour around three main hubs in Wellington, Sydney and Canberra, rather than changing location daily, is thought to be an attempt to minimise the trauma on the baby Prince.

QuoteNew Zealand Royal Visit: Day One

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived in New Zealand with baby Prince George for the beginning of their Royal visit.

Grey misty clouds and drizzle greeted Their Royal Highnesses as they arrived at Wellington International Airport but eight-month-old Prince George seemed oblivious to the cold conditions and waved his arms and legs.

Prime Minister John Key was waiting on the tarmac to greet Their Royal Highnesses but they received the full splendour of a traditional Maori welcome at nearby Government House, the official residence of the Governor General Sir Jerry Mateparae.

The Duke of Cambridge was the first to perform a hongi - a traditional Maori greeting where noses are pressed together and a breath is symbolically exchanged - with two Maori elders and cultural adviser Lewis Moeau and Hiria Hape. The Duchess smiled broadly as she followed suit.

Prince George will take part in public engagement as Kate and William attend playgroup | Mail Online (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2599436/Prince-George-perform-public-duty.html)

Quote
Prince George will carry out his debut public engagement tomorrow at a parent and baby group – meeting everyone from a single mother to a gay couple.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take their eight-month-old son to a playgroup at Government House, the home of the Governor-General in Wellington, organised by the parent support organisation Plunket.

All of the babies who will meet Prince George were born within a few weeks of his birthday on July 22 last year.

The lucky ten families who have been chosen to meet the Cambridges spoke of their excitement today and said they were looking forward to swapping anecdotes about the trials and tribulations of being first-time parents.

I see all the excitementt about seeing George, even though he is abroad... Do the people off the UK really not care at all, that the people of New Zealand and Australia will get to spend time with Prince George while they have gotten 3 posed pictures in the 8 months since his birth and that the people of the UK, the country he will be King of, will never, ever spend time with him or see him like this in his own country, the one he will be King of? If the issue were privacy, then he shouldn't be parading Down Under in the first place, so clearly the issue is, PR...

The Queen has visited Australia 16 times and Canada 22 times, HM considers tours to her realms to be of the utmost importance.

Hence the reason she she will be keeping a close eye on W&K down under, just like she did in Canada.

The people of the UK will have many years seeing photos of Prince George once or twice a year and at one or two events a year, nothing like this. I, for one, think it is absurd and thoughtless, that he is only paraded at PR tours and not shared with his subjects like Estelle's parents so thoughtfully do...

QuoteThe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will introduce Prince George to parents and babies of all stripes, including a gay couple and a single mum, at their next public engagement in New Zealand.
The royal visitors will take their son to a playgroup organised by the parent support organisation Plunket, thought to be the first time Prince George will have played with a large group of babies.
The lucky ten families who have been chosen to meet the Cambridges spoke of their excitement on Tuesday and said they were looking forward to swapping anecdotes about the trials and tribulations of being first-time parents.

The Republican movement in New Zealand has gained momentum? Care to back that up with facts. I can provide polls to show the monarchist movement is alive and well in NZ. Please share any polling data to show otherwise?

The Prince George Effect: New Fashion Icon?

QuoteThe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are under tough fashion scrutiny as they embark on a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand – but it looks like all eyes are on Prince George.

The kangaroo rucksack that Prince William was clutching for the prince at Wellington Airport sold out online as fans rushed to get a slice of the eight-month-old's style.

But luckily for fans of the young royal, the rucksack is now available for pre-order and the site is expected to get more stock in shortly.

Prince George set to make debut at first ever royal engagement

QuotePrince George is set to make an appearance at his first ever public engagement on Wednesday as the royal tour kicks off to a flying start.

In what will be the first of many more public acts to come as the third-in-line to the throne, the eight-month-old will accompany his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton to a parent and baby group at Government House, the home of the Governor-General in Wellington, New Zealand.

The royal trio will meet ten families – all of which have a little baby that was born within a few weeks of little George on 22 July last year – at the playgroup.

I do have to say that Kate is very engaging in the videos I've seen of her at this event.  But I do think that being around babies is a lot easier for her than talking to adults.

William on the other hand....I'm sorry, but he needs to be seen holding his son and interacting with him.

Also, ETA, but George looks eerily like my step-sister's son.

Little Prince Charming: George joins a New Zealand playgroup on his first official Royal engagement – and shows that he's starting to crawl

QuotePrince George undertook his first royal crawl-about today as he attended a parent and baby group with his own, world-famous, mummy and daddy.

The eight-month-old was brought along by his clearly proud parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to the 'playdate' organised by The Royal New Zealand Plunket Society at Government House in Wellington.

Following his scene-stealing appearance on Monday when the family arrived in New Zealand to begin their three week tour Down Under, all eyes were on the future king as he was introduced to ten babies born within a few weeks of his own birthday, on July 22 last year.

Title: Prince George Is a Dead-Ringer for his Father
Post by: cinrit on April 09, 2014, 12:13:56 PM
QuoteHe may have inherited his mother's eye colour, but otherwise Prince George is very much his father's son, as the world had a chance to see yesterday when he arrived in New Zealand.

The eight month-old future king bore a striking resemblance to Prince William at a similar age when he, too, visited Australasia with his parents.

George, who has not attended an official event since his christening in October, has inherited the Duke of Cambridge's hair colour, chubby cheeks and round face, but while the Duke has blue eyes his son has brown eyes like the Duchess of Cambridge.

Proud parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look on as eight-month-old Prince George takes part in the world's most exclusive playgroup at The Royal New Zealand Plunket Society in Wellington

Prince George took his first major royal engagement entirely in his stride, or in his crawl, to be precise, as he joined 10 other babies at the world's most exclusive playgroup.

The eight-month-old showed that he has become mobile a full month earlier than his father did, as he crawled around a plush carpet littered with toys.

QuoteBaby's Day Out! Prince George Enjoys First Royal Engagement at New Zealand Playdate

The eight-month-old future King and his parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to a party with 10 other babies organised by the New Zealand child welfare charity Plunket at the Governor General's residence, Government House, in Wellington.

Kicking his legs and waving his arms with excitement when he spotted toys on the floor, the third in line to the throne, who was bigger than most of his peers, got down for a crawl around and promptly made a little girl called Paige Stevens cry after taking a wooden doll from her.

He bashed one baby accidentally while trying to stroke her face. But the little Prince soon discovered that what goes around comes around: another girl took a toy from him, though he didn't seem too bothered.

LOOL,at Sophie. I hear you . I  am not a  parent, but  yeah,  kids change.  Nah, underneath it  all ... your three  kids still love'ya!!!
Tht part  is still the same...(they  jsut don't always show it).

G  is  a  cutie baby  like  all  babies. All the   Lil Muchkins there were  too   cute.
Funny pix: G  is  just  a   baby of course...totally innocent  of  all his  life  is about, his destiny.

All in all, he  is just  a baby  who saw  other babies and  like  all the babies liked the toys  , crawling, and  looking and wondering at  each  other.  All in all, he  like other babies  sure knows  his Mama. All  of  his Mama.  Her  hair  pull...too funny and so real.  Good for K  to  be real and move his  lil hands right away for photo opp. That  is HER  baby!
Proof  of him and W n K, they  know their  baby  and  he knows them.
Ms. Spainish Nanny will be  a  wonderful babysitter. She  will care for him when his mother and father  are  working, which  is  not often.Ok, LOL, sorry  for going there.
Also, G's grandparents and I am sure his Aunt Pippa  will often babysit  him too.
What  I  am saying  is K and W  will parent their  child and not TPTB, the nanny, etc.

Very  good  of  W and K.

May  I say,  bittersweet.  Princess  Diana  would  have you know to have seen that child.
Anyone here  who has  lost  a  parent  to their children which  would be the children's  grandparent knows what  I mean.

PW ,I think new , his mother was  a hands-on mother, real mother  tp him and he picked a good girli K  to do the same.  He  seems also to  be  a hands-on  father.  Maybe in WnK's world there is a majoirty  of  them who parent   this way  instead of the old way  of  their  parents.

QuoteThe Prince George Effect Strikes Again! Royal Baby's Smocked Dungarees by Luxury Children's Brand Rachel Riley Sold Out In Small Sizes

The kangaroo backpack he was given as a gift in Australia sold out within hours, so there's no doubt Prince George's latest Royal Tour outfit will fly off the shelves.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge dressed their baby son in navy smocked dungarees with a sail boat design on the front for a 'playdate' organised by The Royal New Zealand Plunket Society at Government House in Wellington on Wednesday.

The eight-month-old's stylish baby attire is from Rachel Riley, a British luxury brand for children, and retails at £77 (AUD$125).

QuotePrince George's Body Language Spoke Volumes at His First Royal 'Meet and Greet' - and Every Movement Revealed a Baby Destined to be King, Says Body Language Expert

He may not yet be able to talk, but Prince George's body language spoke volumes at his first royal 'meet and greet': and every movement revealed a baby destined to be King.

As an expert on body language – I've written 26 books on the subject – I've been following the royal family for over 30 years and I have been riveted by these images of George.

Clearly a calm, extremely sociable and very self-confident baby, he's not just happy to be the centre of attention - he absolutely revels in it.

It's such a contrast to the images 31 years ago of the William's first tour of Australia. Although he was a month older than his son is now, his body language betrayed an underlying shyness and anxiety.

William looked perfectly happy as a baby, of course in restrospect, one may attribute all one knows... What nonsense... George looks quite happy as well, and quite spoilt taking the other children's toys leaving the other children not so joyful while his mother smiles happily... William smiled a lot more than he though in pictures, George is more often grumpy but his statements on a canvas are quite a bizarre way of saying Kate and William are great parents and have a great marriage and William's parents were crappy and so forth...  :Lothwen: What is wrong with people...?

Cute little bike shirt.

I understand that it's customary to give the royals gifts when they do a tour like this, but I wish the money would be spent in some other way. A donation to one of their charities, perhaps. Then I would be more comfortable in thinking that the expense of a tour like this actually did some good.

I agree, Jenee.  The money would be much better served elsewhere.  I think people like to give flowers and gifts, though, because they feel it gives them a personal connection with the Royal.  On the other hand, I'm sure many of the gifts are given to hospitals, like flowers are, so they most likely do serve a purpose in the end.

I agree with both of you. I do think the flowers are given to a hospital, but as I was watching the livestream, I was trying to think of what I'd bring if I went to a walkabout besides flowers. I finally settled on a local cookbook.

George is a typical baby, but because he's future King at the moment, everything he does is going to be looked at as "proof" he's "meant to be King" (at least by some people).

The Duchess of Cambridge reveals that the Prince doesn't enjoy eating his vegetables

QuotePrince George doesn't like eating his greens, the Duchess of Cambridge told children today, so she has to get them into his food by stealth.

During a visit to a children's hospice, Lee Thompson, 14, asked the Duchess if she ate all her vegetables.

She said: "The Duchess laughed and said she did, but it was a problem getting George to eat them. She said she and William had to mash up all his vegetables so he wouldn't notice."

The Duchess was visiting the Rainbow Hospice in Hamilton for her first solo engagement of the royal tour of New Zealand.

^ I totally agree : routine, routine, routine

However, such a shame George's parents were not that concerned with his routine whilst on holiday in the Maldives...sunning themselves.  Sorry, but that to me -  blew their caring and devoted parents concerns out of the KP windows.  There is no way I'd leave my baby behind to sunbathe and then drag him across to the other side of the world as a PR prop.  No way, no how  :sneeze:

Perhaps it is just me...... :vday4:

A bit of fun and another excuse to see HRH Prince George of Cambridge

QuotePrince George of Cambridge is many things: Chubby. Blond. Son of the future King and Queen. But above all, he is very, very rich. Keeping that in mind, we couldn't help but be shocked to discover this baby's Instagram feed, @RichBabiesOfInstagram.

Dozens of personal photos, all taken during his official tour of Australia and New Zealand alongside his parents, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William.

Take a look through some of the pics and ridiculous captions Prince George had the gall to post this week, and just hope that Queen Elizabeth still hasn't updated the iOS on her iPhone to see any of these, or there will be real trouble.

QuoteIf royal visits are judged by the size of the welcoming crowds, positive headlines and the number of gifts received then the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's tour of New Zealand has been a resounding success.

Wherever William and Kate have visited Kiwis have shown their affection by screaming, handing over presents and waiting for hours to shake the hands of their visitors.

But the real star of the tour has been their eight-month-old son Prince George whose appearance at a playgroup in Wellington left the Kiwis in raptures.

The Prince's antics crawling, playing with toys and tugging on his mother's hair showed the future king was in many ways just like any other baby - albeit growing up in front of the world's media.

George's face has graced news stands across New Zealand with papers and magazines giving front page coverage to the future king.

Women's Day magazine dubbed him "His Royal Cuteness" on its front cover, which also featured images of the Duchess under the headline "Our Queen of Hearts".

Glossy women's title New Idea also made the royal mother and son their cover story, and summed up their impact with the headlines "Kate and Prince George Take New Zealand by Storm" and "Prince of our hearts".

QuoteNew Zealand Royal Visit: Day Eight

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge swung into action today when they took part in an impromptu game of cricket.

Their Royal Highnesses showed of their batting and bowling skills when they joined a group of young people and former sports stars promoting the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The Duke and Duchess were in Christchurch to carry out a number of engagements but the main focus was to pay their respects to victims of the devastating earthquake which struck the city on 22nd February 2011 leaving more than 180 people dead, and to learn about the reconstruction efforts.

The Duke, who visited the city soon after the natural disaster struck, gave a speech during the day and described how they were moved by reminders of the earthquake and praised the "resilience and adaptability'' of the people.

QuoteA Speech by HRH The Duke of Cambridge at Government House, Wellington, New Zealand

Thank you also for hosting Catherine, George and me during our time in New Zealand. I hope that George doesn't keep you up! He's at his most vocal at 3am, as you may have noticed - I swear I heard him doing the haka this morning. He's a bonny lad and you'll be pleased to know that he's currently preparing for life as a prop forward!

I cannot tell you how happy I am to be back here in God's Own Country – as I have learned to call it – and this time with my wife and son.

When I returned to New Zealand for the first time as an adult in 2005, I came mainly to watch the All Blacks against the British and Irish Lions – the best way to be introduced to this sports-passionate nation.

QuoteA Speech by HRH The Duke of Cambridge at Wigram Air Force Museum

As you all know, this is Catherine's first visit to New Zealand, and the two of us could not be more grateful for the way in which we have been made to feel so very welcome. There have been many highlights from the past ten days in this beautiful country - Catherine beating me at sailing does not count amongst them, not for me anyway.

There have been a number of moving reminders this week of harder days in New Zealand's past - particularly poignant during this centenary year of the start of World War One. The war memorials at Blenheim and Cambridge stand in simple tribute to the selflessness of those who have gone before in this great nation, sacrificing all they have for their descendants.

Here in Christchurch, I recall in 2011 hearing first hand about the courage of ordinary members of the public, first responders, the Student Army and many others in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes. Both Catherine and I have found ourselves moved this morning by the reminders of how awful the second earthquake was, striking as it did out of the blue in the middle of an ordinary day.

QuoteHere at The Fabulist, we like to find style inspiration in everything.

And while, yes, there are the obvious sources of style inspiration (fashion shows, Paris, Kate Middleton), there are also the not-so-obvious ones. And those can be the most fun.

So, we're pleased to introduce our Monday Muse feature, where we celebrate our "muse," aka our current source of style inspiration. Our very first muse is a young, on-trend tastemaker with some serious sartorial sense.

And when we say young, we mean he hasn't celebrated his first birthday yet.

Prince George has undoubtedly had a major impact on the 18-months and under fashion crowd. From sailboat coveralls to kangaroo backpacks, the royal baby isn't afraid to buck trends and take risks.

We're going to agree to disagree and that is perfectly fine.

Now just read at another forum about two of the most neglectful royal parents. Apparently in the late 60's/early 70's this princely couple were going through a bout of marital strife. Each had their own set of lovers and enjoyed their own lives immensely, but were not so interested in their 3 children. One Christmas the couple had gone their separate ways to spend the holiday with their paramours. Their butler was locking up the house before he and the staff departed. He discovered the 3 children in their nursery. No arrangements had been made for them by either parent. The butler took the kids home to his own family so they could have a Christmas with someone. Later the kids were all sent to boarding schools and rarely saw their parents.

Quite a full day . Love that Phil Dampier was honest and did not think the crowds were as big as expected . They had a lot of people but I do not think it was on the same level as Charles and Diana. So far I have not heard an estimate of the crowd . Also the Opera House is a Mecca for crowds . They were an added attraction Do think she looked great in the yellow dress Does anyone else think George ' Shaun has a tint of red

QuotePrince George may only be eight months old but his style is already causing a stir on social media.

The young prince looked dapper in his nautically themed romper suit as he disembarked an Australian Airforce jet in Sydney on Wednesday.

Keen royal watchers noticed that the suit was very similar to an outfit his father Prince William was photographed wearing as a baby, sitting on his late mother Princess Diana's lap at Kensington Palace on February 1, 1983.

The George effect gathers pace: Romper suit - which looks just like one William once wore - sells out instantly and now has waiting list of two months

QuoteSorry, Kate, you've officially been replaced as the nation's most emulated style icon by your 8-month-old baby boy.

Much like his mother, Prince George is already proving to be something of a trendsetter with his choice of outfits. Designers of the clothes he has worn on his first Royal Tour are reporting a huge surge in sales thanks to the 'George effect' and it's showing no sign of abating.

Today sees the tiny trendsetter strike again as the Annafie romper suit he wore on his arrival in Sydney earlier appears to be totally sold out, with negative stock in all sizes and shipping times of 2 months.

Little George is an adorable baby and I love how chunky he is. :vday4: It would be so cute to get to hold him, but I know that will never happen to me! I have to say, I thought is romper suit was a little old fashioned, like something William or even Charles might have worn when they were his age. His second outfit was better, I love those navy shoes and they look perfect for exploring.

QuoteFrom their first public appearance together, when she walked out of the hospital cradling her newborn son, we've barely seen the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George separated.
But today, for the first time, baby George was pictured not in the arms of doting mother Kate but in those of his new nanny, 43-year-old Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo - and he looked less than impressed.
The 8-month-old prince pulled an adorably grumpy face as Maria Teresa carried him to the car upon the family's arrival in Sydney today.

It started with the ring and just goes on and on . I dislike that Diana is gone and now on this tour ( part 2 of 1983 ) it is ok to mention her because she is still remember there with great affection . The reporters who call her the The New People 's Princess are just wild . Also Will said in their engagement interview Kate was her own person so why this ? I wish I had bet that  George would have had a similar outfit on it . Also there were a lot of people at the Opera House but it is a tourist attraction If you look at the ones from 1983 there is no comparison. Having said that so far the Oz trip is less about them trying out for the Olympics . Also like her dress today hate the shoes , I can not even walk with shoes like that in my house . Actually took a pair back . She looks good in the pics on twitter ( not as good as the photoshop ones ) The thing that is bad on the untouched ones is that black eyeliner
They are trying to present her as the Duchess and mother of a future King Think I have been looking at these  pics too much because Will looks much better than usual to me Not upstanding that at all
Maybe because there are less pics of him and Kate's bright green dress impaired my vision George is a riot has he smiled yet . Wait till that happens

QuotePrince George Receives His First Marriage Proposal from Young Fan

Prince George has many admirers but on his last day in New Zealand the young royal received his first marriage proposal.  As the eight-month-old left Wellington, New Zealand, a young fan used a cute T-shirt to show the Prince her intentions.

Ruby Cate Blitz's T-shirt read "Marry Me George" and the little toddler grinned happily as she held tight to a British flag.

Unfortunately the young royal wasn't at the event in Wellington, New Zealand to give Ruby an answer but Prince William has already spoken of how his young son has yet to speak his first words yet, so we think it's safe to assume the young girl wouldn't have received the answer she was looking for.

We still have the Zoo event and him leaving . I do not recall seeing this many pics from Will's first visit as a baby . QuotePrince William Delights Aussies with Talk of Prince George’s First Word

The Duke of Cambridge has delighted Australians by suggesting Prince George’s first word might be “bilby” - the name of a native marsupial he will meet later this week.

Prince George, who made his first official appearance in Australia when he was carried off an aircraft at Sydney airport this morning, will next be seen at the city’s Taronga Zoo on Sunday when he will be introduced to a bilby named after him.

In a speech to city dignitaries at Sydney Opera House, the Duke said: “George is now busy forging his own link with Australia.  I suspect George’s first word might be ‘bilby’ – only because ‘koala’ is harder to say. We really look forward to our time here together as a family.”

QuoteThough we're just a few days into the royal family's tour of Australia and New Zealand, the star of the trip has already become clear: he's eight months old, he's single-handedly brought moniker-flaunting clothing back into vogue, and—like his mother—he is seemingly incapable of taking a bad photograph. Let's take a look at George's most adorable moments during the royal tour so far.

The thing that I do not understand is Will and Kate are on a 3 week tour , Diana and Charles were I think gone on this tour for 6 weeks and yet look at all the pics of George . We still have the Zoo event and him leaving . I do not recall seeing this many pics from Will's first visit as a baby . Just curious but for all the hiding of this baby and Will's feelings for press and the disappearance of this couple why this . Never mind the kid sells he sells his parents and the Monarch
True the times then were  totally different  in terms of media  /information age  which  is  of today.

PW  and K want, have said they  want their child  to be  and  live in a more  private way.  He is  a baby  now  so on this tour they  have  him front and center and really  joining the tour.  I wonder when they return back to their  home country, will they  have  more pictures of  PG  out.   Before they  tour, there were  really  only  about  five  pictures of him .
he  is who he is and  as a young child, he  needs  to  be out there.   It  is his life.
PW  and PH,per Diana , had  a  private childhood, but  she  had them learning the ropes  of  walkabouts, the balcony, early on.  Private times of  PW  entering  Kindergarten  was  not  in pix  in the school, but  of him enterting his first day.

^^ I don't remember either of the Cambridges saying that they want George to live in a more private way.  I think we've all deduced that from the fact that we don't see him that often.  When William and Harry were George's age, we didn't see them much, either.  Diana did take them on walkabouts, but not until they were old enough to have some sense of what was going on.  While it's good that George is getting an opportunity to realize that he will be surrounded by people (strangers to him) all his life, at his age right now, he has no idea  why.

I wonder if they'll put George in nursery school when he gets a little older.  At the play group, Kate mentioned that there weren't many opportunities for him to interact with children his own age.

She actually said he has play dates, but not with as many children.  I hope they do send him to nursery school where he can interact with other children.  The other alternative, I suppose, would be home schooling.  Given his future, that probably wouldn't be the best for him.

Both William and Catherine were educated at the best Independent schools in Britain. After nursery school Prince George will probably attend the pre-preparatory Wetherby School like his father and then it will be off to either Ludgrove School like William or St Andrews School Pangbourne, Kate's alma mater.

Cindy, that  was mentioned  in some post here repeated from media.  I do not  remember  if  W  said that or the media  made  it  up.

PG  is  not in his childhood. I said childhood. He  is in infancy now.  A baby.  About to be a toddler. Of course, as a baby  and toddler, he will do walkabouts ,  stand on the balcony and wave. etc.

PW and PH  as children in their childhoods  did these things   and  were  photographed  at the  first day  of  first school....on vacation with their parents  with  K and Q  of Spain.

Yes,Jenne and others, no doubt  boarding school when he  is  in his young childhood. that is how there world  works and he  will be with his peers  of his  world and making  friendships with  those  just as  PH and PW did.
Boarding school isodd to me and for a young child  of  2nd. 3rd grade. I do not what  is  the same for you guys.

I see boarding school in George's future, but they might start him later. I believe that William was about 8 when he first went to Ludgrove. William and Kate could delay that until he's a little older.

I don't believe that Louise has begun boarding school though it is offered at St. George's School Windsor where she currently attends.

Her older cousin Eugenie also attended the same school.

Quite the catch: Prince George has already received TWO marriage proposals

QuoteHE may only be eight months old but Prince George is turning into the world's most eligible bachelor with not one but TWO marriage proposals.

The third in line to the throne has had the little ladies throwing themselves at him during his first royal trip Down Under.

Today 10-month-old Grace Farrelly wore a pink babygrow with the words "Mary Me George" in Brisbane, Australia.

But she has a rival for her affections in the form of 11-month-old Ruby Cate Blitz, who popped the question via a white T-shirt last week in Wellington, New Zealand.

He's an active boy and seems very content IMO. His parents and the zoo staff are conducting a brief ceremony to name the enclosure and he could care less about the speech. William is doing his best to keep him distracted while the unveiling takes place. I believe he knows that George is raring to go.

I think some of George's unusual expressions are due to teething. Given that he is teething and is feeling the frustration of wanting to walk but not quite being able to do so could contribute to a certain amount of fussiness. But honestly, he's shown little of that.

From photos and videos, he appears to be curious (always looking around, twisting to see in every direction), confident (crawling and exploring), and secure (no withdrawing or crying at new faces/people).

QuoteThe Duchess of Cambridge was spotted discreetly wiping Prince George's drool on her designer dress during a visit to Sydney's Taronga Zoo yesterday.

Now in full-blown teething mode at eight months old, the infant constantly dribbled as he came face-to-face with various animals, including a bilby named in his honor.

Without a cloth or a bib to hand, his mother Kate, 32, used her hand to stop the saliva from getting on his smart sailor-style shirt.

Kate, the hands-on mother! Duchess wipes teething George's saliva on her own designer outfit | Mail Online (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2609447/Kate-hands-mum-Duchess-wipes-teething-Georges-saliva-designer-outfit.html)

I think the article is a little harsh. George is dribbling because he is most probably teething.

George is quite the cutie. He seems to have a confident, content, very energetic personality. Given all of the crowds around him, the flashing photographers, and just his new surroundings and likely disruption in routine, he's been incredibly well behaved on this trip.

The drooling article does seem rather harsh. He's a baby and he's at the age of teething. Babies drool in general but especially teething babies. I will give the Duchess props for being a hands-on mom in that situation and just wiping his drool off him and on whatever surface she could find, including her designer dress. Not every mother, especially one as public as the Duchess is, would do that and risk their designer frock.

Think most moms would have a cloth to wipe the baby's mouth  when out in public . Doing that in public in her position does not say hands on mom to me   She gets dress , nanny dresses baby , hands baby to them to put in car , photo shoot at zoo very brief ok it is the nanny's fault when she did hand over should have given Kate a cloth   baby back to nanny  play in the park

I agree, but I think Kate does not read anything about her, either she was told not to or she doesn't care and assumes it will all be good, after saying William thought her dress too bright and people criticizing William for it, she then went on to say he called her a banana so he could be criticized again? :hmm: and then to mock his baldness in public in front of strangers...  :hmm: This is why she prefers engagements with children, she can just look pretty and talk about their pigtails...

He's a growing baby so I'm not surprised that he's put on some weight and parents will notice these details. Infants tend grow out before they grow up according to my pediatrician. George will be adding some inches to his length soon so those outfits will be too small. :D

Her comment before the "fat roll" comment was that George is changing so much while they've been away.  I agree, the "fat roll" comment was just a normal part of adding how much he's grown.  He's a big boy, he'll start growing vertically real soon.  And maybe a couple more fat rolls.

I have to say that when I saw her wipe the drool, it brought back memories.  I was always one of those "unprepared mothers" (I used to say I was an amateur at it).  Some mothers always had wipes, cheerios, change of clothes etc.etc.  I never seemed to have them to hand.  But she turned out well anyway!  (And told me she preferred me to the "professional moms" - thanks kiddo!)

The roll of fat comment seemed like a way to make small talk and to emphasize how well George had adapted to living in the Antipodes.  Nothing derogatory in the statement.

QuoteIt's not easy to steal the spotlight from Kate Middleton and Prince William, but Prince George managed to do just that on his first ever royal tour.

The 9-month-old heir to the throne's visit helped to underscore the ties between the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, and he even managed (remarkably) not to have a single meltdown caught on camera!

Is the future king's happy demeanor a testament to the duke and duchess's parenting skills? Perhaps Georgie's nap schedule stayed right on cue despite the time change, or maybe event photographers didn't mind turning a blind eye if they happened to witness a fussy moment. Maybe, though, Prince George really is as perfect as he seems!

Don't shoot me down...I come in peace  :flower:.

However, I wonder if George was an ugly little blighter, they would have taken him? I doubt it.  Without George. this tour would have been even more boring than it was...IMO.

OK...Off to the naughty step, once again, for me  :mil3:

^^ That brings up a question in general that I've always wondered.  I once saw the most unattractive baby in the world.  My boss's wife was holding it.  I goo-goo'ed and ga-ga'ed and said, "Oh, what a wonderful baby!", and the wife stood there proudly, smiling widely and showing off their baby.  My question is, then, do parents know if their baby isn't Gerber Baby perfect?  The answer probably is, no, they probably don't know.  They probably think the baby is beautiful.  And they all are, anyway, no matter...

So I think yes, the Cambridges would have brought little George with them, no matter what he looked like.

Off the naughty step for me, too. :mil3:

I think they do, but they don't want their baby or loved one's looks criticized (who does?) I have a friend who prayed throughout her pregnancy that her baby would have her nose and her husband's hair and the opposite happened. She let us all know, God's sense of humor was not appreciated.  :happy15: I have a friend whose husband didn't tell anyone the baby was born until a few days later because it looked funny to him, he now looks like the Little Prince. And, a coworker showing pictures of her baby daughter introduced by saying, she looks kind of funny but remember she has been swimming for nine months!  :happy15:

Are you making this up?  What kind of 'adults' feel so ashamed of a human being they made ? Some people lol .
Babies faces are not formed till a few months and till 2 -3 years they keep changing they aren't born with perfect jawline and noses the nose is actually flat on all babies or really round lol so much for living in the real world . :notamused:

QuotePrince George Steals the Show as Support for Monarchy Rises

As the royal tour draws to a close, there's no doubt Prince George stole the limelight. But what has the young family's visit revealed about Australia and New Zealand's attitudes to the monarchy?

From the moment he was carried down the aircraft steps by his mother on their arrival in New Zealand on Monday 7 April, Prince George was the star of the show.

He has only appeared twice (other than at airports) and even then the settings have been carefully managed - first at a specially convened playgroup in Government House, Wellington and then, memorably, at a new enclosure at Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

Yes just Catherine of Aragon, Catherine Howard, and Katherine Parr she'll likely be aligned with her maiden name forever. I'm sure that she's hoping for a happier marriage though than those other Kates. There have been a total of 5 queens of England with that name.

Yeah, although because he kept marrying wives with the same first name (three Katherines, two Anne's) Henry's wives have to be distinguished somehow! King Charles II 's wife, Katherine of Braganza, is hardly remembered.

Quote(CNN) -- Britain's Prince George is now safely back home and tucked-up behind palace walls after taking his first tentative steps into a lifetime of public duties.

In the end, he only officially appeared twice during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's tour of New Zealand and Australia. First, at a play date in Wellington, then at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, but we also caught glimpses of him getting on and off planes.

So what did we learn about this little monarch-in-waiting?

But there was one image from her three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand that particularly captured the Duchess of Cambridge's heart.
And unsurprisingly, it features a very cuddly looking Prince George.

QuoteAustralian children's health specialists say Prince George is an advanced baby with excellent developmental skills for a child of his age.

Sydney paediatricians who observed his responses in photographs and on television footage of his two public appearances say the nine-month-old is progressing well and his parents should be pleased their child is in the top range for his age.

'He looks like a very mobile baby who actively plays with toys and crawls around and he could be almost walking which is very good at nine months,' said Dr Antonia Milner of the Sydney Children's Hospital.

Those same articles of clothing have been sold in stores around the world for decades for boy, blue is a color common for boys clothes and so are polo shirts, and the nautical theme for babies, there is nothing there where George has sparked a trend...  :blank: People who want to live like celebrities buy what they wear, but the items are not only far from unique they are the norm for baby nosy, from the shoes onward...  :notamused:

Agreed. Also the BRF seems to like traditional clothing for their children when they appear in public. George likely wears less expensive but comfortable clothing when he's not in front of the camera.  :)

I agree, I have always wondered about the sanity of parents buying expensive wardrobes for children...  :loco: They are doing it right... You still want yo have fun with your baby clothes but not at a ridiculous expense.

My daughter was given beautiful dresses when she was a baby/toddler. She wore them maybe once or twice before she outgrew them.

QuoteGeorge's Other Wellington Playdate

While his parents were charming the crowds in the South Island, Prince George is said to have made a secret outing with his nanny to a Wellington public playground.

Every move of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was meticulously planned and choreographed, but with the eyes of the world's media elsewhere, the little prince was able to depart from the script and mingle with his future subjects on a sunny afternoon in Frank Kitts Park, a witness says.

Mr Freeze icecream caravan owner Barry Ludlow said he thought he was the only one who recognised the baby, well wrapped up in his pram and with a woman chaperoning him. He said they approached his truck by the playground.

"There were plenty of people walking around the waterfront, there were children everywhere, but I don't think anyone saw them. They didn't look out of place at all."  The pair were with two men in plain clothes, he said. "I've seen the nanny before on TV and they had bodyguards - she had two of them with her."

Saw this over on another well-known royal forum.

Apparently there has been a rise in tourists booking trips to Uluru since the Cambridges visited in April. Australian economy airline Jetstar is now scheduling four  day a week flights to the region from Melbourne. Prior to that all flights to Uluru had to be chartered and went through Sydney. The airline has also seen an increase in passengers booking flights to Uluru from Sydney.  There is a renewed hope that this will bring much needed tourist dollars to the area.
