The Princess Royal, Patron, the Not Forgotten Association, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this afternoon held an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.

The Band of the Irish Guards played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and The Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

A Guard of Honour found by Balaklava Company, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland was mounted in the Forecourt.

Afterwards The Duke of Edinburgh was received in the Forecourt by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh when the Rt Hon Lord Provost surrendered to His Royal Highness the Keys of the City, which The Duke of Edinburgh returned to him.
