Crown Prince Pavlos attended the service of the New Year and the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great, held in the Ecumenical Patriarchate's Church in Athens.

In the presence of the congregation, Crown Prince Pavlos followed the service of the first day of the year and exchanged wishes with those present:

Observations about the BRF and attendance at the memorial service for the late King Constantine by Richard Kay of the DM. They turned up (many of them, but not the Edinburghs who were skiing, or William who gave 46 mins notice of his non-attendance at the service. )

Kay describes the 'grinning' Andrew, pushing himself forward in leading the BRF family into St George's with Fergie (I can just imagine the howls of outrage if Harry and Meghan had been there and done something like that! The heavens would have erupted!)

Kay also accurately describes most of the British royals as an elderly and 'uninspiring' bunch in this gloomy article. The tabloids are missing all those fabulous clicks and royal gossip and I can imagine there is gloom around the newsrooms of these rags!

RICHARD KAY: Never in memory have the royals had so many troubles at once. If not yet a crisis for the House of Windsor, it's getting perilously close...

'Nine months on, the post-Coronation glow that enveloped the country at the prospect of a new reign under King Charles III has dissipated.

And gazing at the remnants of our first family on display at Windsor this week it was impossible to escape the conclusion that it has suddenly become a threadbare institution.

Princess Anne, of course, remains a tower of strength. But for all her resilience, she is 73; sprightly, but still an age when most women have long left behind the kind of regular working hours she puts in.

The other working royals who were visible on duty on Tuesday are even older — the Duke of Gloucester is 79, the increasingly frail Duke of Kent is 88 and his sister, the stylish Princess Alexandra who was taken into St George's in a wheelchair to attend, is 87. These then — together with Prince Edward and Sophie who were not present at the service — are the public faces of the Royal Family. Through no fault of their own, they are hardly an inspiring bunch.'

No edit button available to me on the above post so I post Kay's byline to the DM article here.

Yesterday, March 27, Margareta, Custodian of the Crown, handed out the highest insignia of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award programme to a number of students. Princess Sofia was present as well:

Apparently Nicholas Medford-Mills, the son of Margareta's sister Elena, took part in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards himself when at school in England. He was spoken of often meeting members of the Danish-Greek royal family and other royals in the past and may well end up as heir again, especially as both his mother and aunt are now elderly.

TRH Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana. After fourteen years of marriage, they have chosen to amicably dissolve their union.
