The Prince's Trust has commissioned and opened a rustic playground on the grounds of Dumfries House. It's said to be inspired by the Highgrove playhouse by the PoW's sons and grandchildren. It has three slides, a tunnel climbing wall, suspension bridges and two towers. A fantastic playground for kids in a woodland setting to get kids outdoors and playing. Local school children were the first to give it a try this week.  :high5:

QuoteThe 300-square metre rustic wooden playground is nestled six metres up among the trees on the estate near Cumnock, and features elevated rope bridges, a netting tunnel, two side-by-side racing slides and a tube slide.

Commissioned by Charles? charitable organisation The Prince?s Foundation, the park is designed to encourage youngsters to immerse themselves in nature, boosting their physical wellbeing and mental health in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The central play tower, made from sustainably sourced English chestnut, took inspiration from the treehouse at the prince?s Gloucestershire home, Highgrove.

QuoteThe Prince of Wales swung into the Queen?s Platinum Jubilee celebrations at a tea dance held at his private residence in Gloucestershire.

Charles, along with TV star Jools Holland and soul singer Ruby Turner, surprised more than 250 older guests on Tuesday (May 31) at a party thrown by the Prince?s Foundation in the Orchard Room of Highgrove House.

The event - held as a way combat loneliness and isolation within the community - saw men and women from the local area enjoy an afternoon tea while socialising and enjoying live music.

Guests were unaware the prince would be joining them, and his entrance was met with delighted gasps.

That looks to be such a delightful time for so many and I wish I could go to one.  The setting, the food, the music will surely make some people there feel like they are on top of the world. What a marvelous thing to do for the people who probably never had something like this in their lives before. Praise to Prince Charles and his staff for thinking of this. It is once in a lifetime wonderful memory for so many yet a tiny thing for him and his staff to do.

I LOVE this type of stories that no one knows until it is told like 10+ years later!!!

Quote
David Lammy told how the then Prince of Wales visited Tottenham after the 2011 riots and continued to visit over the years, bringing practical help in the form of businesses and the Prince's Trust. ''He put more effort in than prime ministers and leaders of the opposition,'' Lammy

Yes, of course he does. However, he?s been mired in several scandals himself (Camilla, Bolland, Fawcett the Fence, Saville, Ball, etc anyone) but due to his rank and position people didn?t distance themselves from him, though many probably felt like doing so. Pity THEY didn?t follow through!

I think those poor people are doomed, unfortunately, short of a mega-miracle. That was a very large object to go into and explore a very fragile wreck lying so many metres down military rescue subs are not able to get to it. When I read about the proposed expedition over a week ago I didn't think it was a very good idea, anyway.

It?s often forgotten I think, that this tragic vessel was the grave and last resting place of many hundreds of its passengers, and therefore IMO ought to be left alone, not treated like a tourist attraction, romantic though that notion is, superficially.

The middle easterns do not know what else to do with their money.

The cash to access with royalty, footballers  - which is working - their local A football clubs with high paid imported figures is also making not only these teams figure in the international landscape but also TV rankings (a football fan will watch) and soon TENNIS - gasp both ATP/WTA. Offering 1 Billion yearly here, there, everywhere to individuals, teams, organizations, you name it - tells the story of shedloads of shedloads of money.  ETA: Oh and the Formula 1, boy have they netted.   The thing is IF the West (Nato) want to keep their western allegiances intact, they have to produce themselves that kind of money to help and trickle down to the western citizens. Times have changed quite a lot (as per my comments related to India purchasing oil from RU, countries accepting China with cooperations with a win win, the Middle East entering the scene as third players). This has to do with survival and thriving rather than morals/morality from as recent as 10 years ago (from the Western civilization).

I prefer to be open and upfront with accepting moneys from the Middle East, it's a theme in the West.  Especially public figures or mainstream media ''faking morality'' to trigger a sentiment in the population, sometimes it works (I have examples) to doesn't work (I also have examples), not the thread though, just wanted to tell my point, with one very easy example or two:

Football: one imported highly paid, trickles his knowledge to the Middle Eastern footballers, all of a sudden a crap team is winning not only in their ''region'' but at international competitions.

Formula 1: positions in both F1 and FIA with Middle Easterners, moneys distributed, each driver has a team behind it, approx each team has 1200 employees that receive employment, that is 1200 x 10  teamsx the F1/Fia structure x extra peoples loads of them = loads of families receiving income.  Replicate this example to everything I've said geopolitical from India purchasing oil for the survival of their people (many other country examples too) to the Princes Trust doing good works undeniably.

Crown Prince Pavlos to accept important award on behalf of King Charles III ? Royal Central (https://royalcentral.co.uk/europe/greece/crown-prince-pavlos-to-accept-important-award-on-behalf-of-king-charles-iii-193645/)

QuoteCrown Prince Pavlos has been nominated by King Charles III to accept the Athenagoras Human Rights Award on behalf of The Prince?s Trust.

The Prince?s Trust is receiving the Athenagoras Human Rights Award because of The King?s understanding of the edict ?love your neighbour as yourself,? according to Dr. Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, a national commander behind the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate which administers the award.

?And in the Prince?s Trust, he has brilliantly demonstrated the meaning and importance of that divine command. The Trust thus richly deserves to receive the Athenagoras Human Rights Award.?

Crown Prince Pavlos has served with the Prince?s Trust International since its inception in 2015, first serving as the Chair of the Global Advisory Board. In 2022, following King Charles?s accession, he took on a more significant role within the charity and currently serves as the international branch?s Vice President.

I'm glad that has been sorted out now. While Charles' sons have made it clear that they wanted to go their own way with charities that were of interest and meaning to them, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple are absorbed into William's in the future. Now it's time for me to make some modifications.

Charles' youth charity Prince's Trust becomes King's Trust | Reuters (https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/charles-youth-charity-princes-trust-becomes-kings-trust-2023-11-10/)

QuoteLONDON, Nov 10 (Reuters) - The youth charity started by Britain's King Charles when he was still a prince - the Prince's Trust - will now become the King's Trust, Buckingham Palace said on Friday.

Charles, who became king last year after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth, set up the charity in 1976 to tackle high youth unemployment and so far it has supported over a million young people.

The charity helps young people aged 11 to 30 get into jobs, education and training. Its beneficiaries have included "The Wire" actor Idris Elba, who used a 1,500 pound ($1,840) grant from the trust to help start his career.

Two other charities started by Charles will also change their names to reflect his accession to the throne.

The Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund will become the King Charles III Charitable Fund, while the Prince's Foundation will become the King's Foundation, the palace said.
