@Amabel2 - I agree that she, Harry and Archie will be back in the UK at least once a year for some private family outings and certain royal events ie: maybe a few of the June activities such as Trooping the Color.

Despite what has happened in the last twelve months, they still have family connections in the UK and I doubt that they would want those to permanently end.

Amabel2

Harry will want to see his family, but they're not MEg's family.   however I think she'll see that its necesary to visit soemtimes....

Chelsea Flower Show is moved to Sept. 2021 and the days are extended from five to six. This is a very popular royal event that typically sees a number of royals attending. In the past various BRF members have either sponsored or helped to design  gardens: PoW, DoS, DssoC.

We are really pleased to tell you that @BBCOne will broadcast A Celebration for Commonwealth Day on 7 March. The special programme replaces this years Commonwealth Day service which is unable to go ahead due to the pandemic, and will include a special message from HM The Queen.

Presented from the Abbey by Anita Rani, the programme will feature music and readings from across the Commonwealth, and reflections from The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Countess of Wessex.

It's a shame that the colorful and celebratory service will not be able to take place at Westminster Abbey, but there will the program to honor the Commonwealth ties.  So I am pleased to see that a suitable substitute has been created. This is always one of my royal events that I look forward to in the year. :happyuk: :happycanada: :happyindia:

QuotePresented from the Abbey by Anita Rani, this Commonwealth celebration will hear voices from across the world alongside music and readings, including performances by the Choir of Westminster Abbey, Nitin Sawhney, Lianne La Havas, Alexis Ffrench, and a reflection by double Commonwealth gold medal winning athlete Denise Lewis. The Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, will lead prayers and blessings and will be joined by faith leaders from around the Commonwealth.

Dr Hoyle said:

?The Commonwealth Service is one of the Abbey?s most important annual services, but as it is not possible to gather here, we have seized the chance to take the celebration well beyond these walls. We are so pleased that this rich and vibrant BBC programme with the Royal Family and the Abbey at its heart will celebrate our global connections at a time when we are all so physically isolated.?

A Service of Celebration for Commonwealth Day will be broadcast on BBC ONE and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 7th March at 5:00pm (GMT), and youll be able to catch up afterwards on the BBC YouTube Channel and BBC iPlayer.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show has confirmed that it will take place this year from July 1-4th. Typically this does see members of the BRF as spectators and on occasion, participants.

Royal Windsor Horse Show to Run in July 2021 - Royal Windsor Horse Show

QuoteWe are looking forward to running a near as normal Show at Windsor in July,? said Show Director, Simon Brooks-Ward. ?The start of this year has been difficult for all live events, but recent government announcements have given us the confidence to go full steam ahead with the organising of Royal Windsor, which includes planning for an audience.?

All competition will be carried out with the emphasis being on competitors? safety and adherence to COVID-19 guidelines required at that time by the local authority, health authorities, veterinary and equestrian associations and the government.

The schedule and a day-by-day programme will go online shortly with the Show running as close to its traditional format as possible and including International Jumping, Dressage, the Land Rover International Carriage Driving Grand Prix, International Endurance and Showing.

The Windsor Pageant, which was scheduled to take place in the evenings, will not take place. However,  the show will include many of the scheduled elements in a bumper edition of equestrian displays, acts and music within the main Show programme, which will take advantage of the long summer evenings .

The last paragraph (BP official announcement) of the theme this year of the Commonwealth HAS BEEN in the official website, including wikipedia and UK government since the first week of January 2021.

The dates 7th, 8th and the 9th depending on the first week Sunday and Monday/per year is the celebration.  This year none of the 54 reps and youth groups who usually are invited to carry out theatre/meetings/music and dance will not be travelling.

Everything will be digital/TV.

PrincessOfPeace

To mark Commonwealth Day, the Queen shares her annual message. Other members of the Royal Family, including the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Countess of Wessex, join the celebrations and speak about why our Commonwealth links are so important. Presented by Anita Rani from Westminster Abbey, the celebration hears voices from across the world alongside music and readings, including performances by Nitin Sawhney, Lianne La Havas, Alexis Ffrench and a reflection by double Commonwealth gold medal-winning athlete Denise Lewis.

As the countdown to Commonwealth Day 2021 gets underway, members of the Royal Family have taken time speaking with members of communities across the family of nations.

In The Queens annual Commonwealth Day message, Her Majesty will pay tribute to the way in which communities across the family of nations have come together in response to the pandemic.

Before Sundays events however, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Sophie Wessex and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate Middleton, spread messages of unity - referring to the coming together of communities around the world in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic.

New: Following consultation with Government and other relevant parties it has been agreed that The Queen?s Official Birthday Parade - Trooping the Colour - will not go ahead in London this year options for an alternative in the quadrangle at Windsor Castle, are being considered.

The annual Garter service, usually held in June, will not take place this year either.

- Rebecca English

TLLK

Disappointing news but IMHO it's better make the decision now rather than to plan, organize and then have to cancel the traditional London event as well as the Garter Service at Windsor Castle.

However if a scaled down alternative for the Trooping event could take place in the quadrangle at WC, then I do believe that would be a viable option.

June sporting news for the BRF: Royal Ascot and Wimbledon. Multiple family members typically attend Royal Ascot.

https://twitter.com/Gertsroyals/status/1372951856771645441

QuoteRoyal Ascot is still on June 15th-19th.

Last year there were no spectators in person, with the races being broadcast on TV & Internet. This year, the racecourse is hoping to have spectators present depending on Covid Restrictions at the time.

With two members of the BRF associated with the AELTC (DssoCam and DoK) and Wimbledon, I'm going to post this information here.  :happy17:

QuoteWimbledon is expected to go ahead as scheduled this year with a reduced number of spectators. The tournament is scheduled for June 28th-July 11th.

The All England Club is waiting to make a final decision on the number of spectators.

QuoteThe Queen?s Official Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour, will not take place in its usual form this year.

The palace is considering alternative arrangements, like the parade in the quadrangle at Windsor Castle last year.

QuoteI would hope the Queen is able to have some family with her at Trooping this year, if there is an alternative parade at Windsor Castle.

It was a little sad to see her standing there alone with only staff.

Same last year

QuoteBut I will say I rather enjoyed the smaller Trooping the Colours last year. It was a lot easier to follow things because there wasn?t so much going on at once.

Stay tuned and kept posted from Royal Ascot for still going or cancelled due coronavirus (covid-19)

QuoteThe annual Order of Garter Service scheduled for June 14th, has been canceled as well.

The event is normally attended by Order of the Garter Members/Knights/Ladies & Their Spouses.

(Foreign Royals normally only attend the year they are installed, & on extra special occasions)

It was cheerful to see the older pictures of the Royals at the Chelsea Flower Show. I especially liked the one featuring Princess Marina.

The Queen will return to London for the State Opening of Parliament on May 11th. This years #StateOpening will be specially adapted to make it #Covid secure, with *reduced ceremonial elements*. A No 10 spokesperson says *this Queens Speech will look quite different*.
