The Scottish titles held by the members of the BRF. :princessgrace: The Scottish titles of the Royal Family ? Royal Central (https://royalcentral.co.uk/uk/the-scottish-titles-of-the-royal-family-153109/)

The PoW:
QuoteThe Prince of Wales has a bumper crop of Scottish titles to his name. The one most associated with Charles is Duke of Rothesay as he has often underlined that this is how he is known when he is in Scotland. It is one of a number of titles that were always held by the heir to the throne of Scotland and which now belong to the first in line to the British throne. The others are Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.

Other members of the BRF.
QuoteThe Duke of Edinburgh was given his title by King George VI in November 1947, ahead of his marriage to the then Princess Elizabeth.

The Queen has also bestowed several Scottish titles on the occasion of royal weddings. Prince William was made Earl of Strathearn as well as Duke of Cambridge on his marriage to Catherine Middleton in April 2011. Prince Harry received the title of Earl of Dumbarton at the same time he was created Duke of Sussex just ahead of his wedding with Meghan Markle in May 208. Prince Andrew was made Duke of York and Earl of Inverness at the time of his marriage to Sarah Ferguson in 1986.

Prince Edward didn?t receive a Scottish title when he married Sophie Rhys-Jones in June 1999 but twenty years later, his mother changed all that. In March 2019, to mark his 55th birthday, the Queen created her youngest son Earl of Forfar with Edward and Sophie visiting the area soon afterwards.

Two other high profile royals hold Scottish titles as well but, as is usual, they are actually used as courtesy titles by their heirs. The Queen?s cousin, Edward, Duke of Kent is also Earl of St. Andrews but his eldest son, George, is now known by that title. Another cousin, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, counts Baron Culloden among his titles. However, it is now used as a courtesy title by the only son of his eldest son who is known as Xan, Lord Culloden.

Princess Alexandra of Kent married Sir Angus Ogilvy in 1963. He was the son of David Ogilvy, the 12th Earl of Airlie of Scotland.

I think Angus was an Hon (as the son of an Earl) at that stage, he was knighted in the late 1980s as I recall. Of course, par for the course in the 1960s, he was offered an Earldom, which to his credit he refused, also a grace and favour apartment, which he also refused though he did lease the house (part of the Crown Estate) Alexandra still lives in now. She had an apartment at St James's Palace at the time of her marriage.

About the only things I can remember about Angus Ogilvy otherwise is the estrangement with daughter Marina over her marriage, he and Alexandra being caught by a photographer having sex in a field during part of their honeymoon (I think it was at Balmoral.) No photos ever got out into the public arena though, naturally.

Angus also came a cropper over some business dealings in what was then Rhodesia and was criticised over it in the Commons by Ted Heath. He ended any connections with the business world after that and did a great deal of charity work instead.

📜 Our first document was thought to have been sent to King George III by General William Roy, outlining the origins of what we now know as the Ordnance Survey.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are hiring a digital 'guru' to run their social media accounts -  after the Prince and Princess of Wales' slick videos won over Generation Z over the Coronation weekend. -

The royal couple are currently looking for an 'innovative' digital content producer who will be based at Buckingham Palace. -

It's knowing your content will be viewed by millions,' says the advertisement on the royal website. 'It's finding new ways to maintain the King and the Queen's presence in the public eye and on the world stage.'

Explaining what the job will entail, the ad says: 'Joining our fast paced and dynamic digital team, you'll deliver our digital output via our website, e-comms and social media channels, predominantly through planning, filming and editing videos.

'You'll take on a key role in developing meaningful relationships and interactions with our audiences by creating and commissioning a variety of video content.'

^I think William and Kate have done well with their image as of late. It?s not a bad idea for Charles and Camilla to take a page out of their book. Now that we?re past the coronation, it?s time to look ahead of how he wishes to be perceived as king.

The two couples are the main faces of the family now and now that Elizabeth is gone, it?s time to explore a new way of staying relevant as a monarch.

From making a very public statement coronation dinner with the entire extended family at BP toasting Archie to nothing about Lili, with Hello! Magazine stating that only working royals and their families from ''now on''.

I'll give Neil Sean's claim last night: The BRF will not from now on say happy whatever to the Sussexes, following the couple's wish to stay private. They want sole and exclusive control over their children, their right! IOW wait for the next money grab (like Netflix) to show and tell.

The Sussexes are no longer working royals so that's logical (after months of the Palace comms staff doing nothing about this.)

The website also states that 'Information about the current work of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be found on their official website Sussex.com' (and the website provides a link. So after all the media hoopla of ages ago about the Sussex website being 'disrespectful to the monarchy' etc, it appears the Palace is fine with directing inquiries to it.
