Royal respect at new low since Diana Death

The death of Diana, Princess of Wales has damaged the standing of the Royal Family, with "respect" falling sharply to below 50 per cent for the first time, according to a new poll for The Daily Telegraph.

The sharp drop - from 64 per cent to 49 per cent - will cause unease at Buckingham Palace and at Clarence House, the latter of which has been criticised for failing to make any contingency plans for well-wishers expected to come to London for today's memorial service to mark 10 years since the princess's death.
