David Emanuel Admits My Hardest Trial Was Keeping Princess Diana's Secret

Royal designer David Emanuel has opened up about his first meeting with the late Princess Diana and how it changed his life forever when she gave him the top secret assignment of making her wedding dress.

The 61-year-old spoke of their friendship on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, calling her "a nicely-brought-up, pretty girl", who used to phone him saying: "It's me."

The gown's 25ft train became so big for his shop he moved it to Buckingham Palace, where he and Diana cordoned off a wing to keep the design hush-hush from staff.

"I said we can't have these [footmen] here because they're going to see what's going on and they might leak it and we've promised to keep it a secret," he said.
