Crown Prince Frederik visits Copenhagen?s emergency services ? Royal Central

QuoteOn Thursday, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark visited the emergency services in the Danish capital of Copenhagen. The employees here have been on the front lines since the outbreak of the pandemic last year and they have taken care of the citizens of the region.

Crown Prince Frederik?s rather informal visit was divided into two parts. First, His Royal Highness had a look at the vehicles that the ambulance service uses when they pick up COVID-patients. He talked for a long time with the ambulance workers who are working to fight the virus every day. The Crown Prince then went to the switchboard, which receives calls from all over the Copenhagen area, but which in recent months has been used a lot by people calling in when they suspect an infection of COVID-19. The Crown Prince learned more about how the work here is done to determine whether it is COVID-19 and what further action is taken.

The Crown Prince also learned about the mobile test centres that are sent to areas with a high concentrations of infected people. His Royal Highness came with the following statement after his visit: ?In addition to driving out into residential areas to establish pop-up test centres, it is also the Emergency Management Agency that drives out to nursing homes and the socially disadvantaged to test citizens for COVID-19. In total, emergency response, test centres and mobile devices can test more than 50,000 a day. I would like to thank the Emergency Management Agency for their efforts.?

In addition to the established Danish corona hotline, the Emergency Management Agency has also developed a chatbot that helps citizens assess whether or not to call if they need COVID-related medical help, to call their own doctor or to just stay home when symptoms occur.

Crown Princess Mary shares personal message about coronavirus vaccine ? Royal Central

QuoteCrown Princess Mary shared a poignant message about hope for an end to the coronavirus pandemic on the Danish Royal House?s Instagram account.

The post, shared Wednesday afternoon, comes after the Crown Princess attended a meeting of the World Health Organisation?s Regional Office for Europe earlier in the day, where the ambassadors for the region received an update on the coronavirus and a status on vaccinations.

?What I took with me from the briefing was that even though there is still a long way to go, there is reason to be optimistic ? infection rates are falling in several places, we are constantly building up new important knowledge? and then we now have the vaccine. I can feel in myself and others around me that it feels heavy right now and that our patience is being put to the test. Therefore, it is good to hear that we can be hopeful ? it can give us energy to persevere and hold on.?

Another future monarch is headed to boarding school in the autumn of 2021. Christian's older cousin Nikolai also attended the school.

Prince Christian of Denmark to attend prestigious boarding school from the autumn ? Royal Central

QuoteChristian completes his school education in Gentofte this summer, it has been confirmed that the future Danish king will attend a prestigious boarding school from the autumn.

The following statement was published Wednesday by the Danish Royal Court: ?At the end of June, His Royal Highness Prince Christian will finish ninth grade at Traneg?rdskolen in Gentofte, where the Prince has been a student since first grade.

?The prince wants to continue his schooling at Herlufsholm Gymnasium in N?stved, where he is registered for the boarding school after the summer holidays.?

His Highness Prince Nikolai of Denmark, the first cousin of Prince Christian, attended 10th grade at Herlufsholm School and received his upper secondary education there as well. So this is not the first time the school will educate a Danish prince. Prince Christian will, however, become the first future monarch to go to the school.

Herlufsholm School is a private day and boarding about 80 kilometres south of Copenhagen. Herlufsholm was founded in 1565 as a boarding school for the Danish nobility on the site of a former Benedictine monastery from the 12th century. There are about 600 students at the school of which approximately 275 students are boarders who lived in the dormitories. The pupils follow a 10-day programme with lessons on Saturdays followed by 3-day weekends.

The school has a reputation for being very demanding and a number of students have left the school after a short time after they described the requirements as too great. The school makes no secret of the fact that they expect a lot from their students and that they are not a private school where you can pay for good grades.
