QuoteChris O'Neill Accompanies Princess Madeleine As She Keeps Fit During Pregnancy

Princess Madeleine is keeping fit during her pregnancy, and she's in good company.

The expectant royal strode in New York's Central Park on Monday accompanied by her husband Chris O'Neill. She was dressed for exercise in leggings, trainers and a tracksuit top, which clung to her burgeoning tummy.

Madeleine, 31, who was spotted last month looking ready for a workout in sports gear, wore her long blonde hair in a ponytail and held it in place with a New York Yankies cap.

QuoteFive-Months-Pregnant Princess Madeleine Shows Off her Bump in tight Workout Clothes on Central Park Stroll with her Husband

Five-months-pregnant Princess Madeleine of Sweden's baby bump is growing larger and larger, but it doesn't seem to be slowing her down.

The 31-year-old royal was spotted on Monday taking in the fall foliage with her financier husband Christopher O'Neill on a brisk walk in Central Park.

The couple, who are expecting their first child next spring, could have passed for any New Yorkers as they hid under dark workout clothes, puffy jackets and matching Yankees baseball caps.

The pair seemed to be engrossed in conversation as they strolled along the path, easily blending in with their fellow joggers.
A fresh-faced Princess Madeleine looked energetic and fit, with her baby bump only evident when she turned side-on.

Blue Clover

Maybe it will be easier to care for her first child near her mother and sister in Sweden.

QuoteWill Madeleine giving birth in Sweden?

I think Madeleine will give birth in New York, as that's where she and Chris are living at the moment. However I agree with Blue Clover - it would be easier for them if Madeleine (it would keep the press happy etc) gave birth in Sweden.

cinrit

In order for the child to be in line for the throne, does she have to be born in Sweden, or raised in Sweden?

Her dad is head of state must have baby born in Sweden and follow lines thrones on the lists

1.her dad is king
2.CP Victoria
3.estella
4?

But royal court order must require must baby born in Sweden and inform her dad to chosen names if Madeline's baby born in NYC and she lost titles also..

Blue Clover

I wonder if she will travel to Sweden early next year?

Drottning

I think it is wonderful that Madeleine`s daughter will benefit from equal succession rights to the Swedish Throne. It was surely a natural injustice that under the previous succession act, all of Carl Gustaf`s sisters had no rights to succeed and even lost the title of HRH when they married ( HRH Princess Birgitta being the exception) I am an admirer of the King but I believe that he was wrong to have opposed the new succession act in 1980 which gave Victoria precedence over Carl Philip, which was only fair as she was born before him.

HereditaryPrincess

It has been confirmed by the Royal Court that Princess Madeleine will give birth in New York:

A logical decision, but I feel that it would be wiser if Madeleine chose to give birth in Sweden. I can imagine that she will be criticized a lot by the Swedish press.

cinrit

If it's born in New York, does that mean it will have dual citizenship?  Doesn't her husband have dual citizenship?

As far as I'm aware, Chris has a dual citizenship - to the UK and USA. :) I'm not sure about their daughter, though. Perhaps someone whose more of an expert on this topic can enlighten me.

Lady Adams

The baby can have Swedish citizenship, even born in the U.S., but she must be raised in Sweden to remain in the succession line.

Which means: Madeleine is a genius. Her baby could be both President and Queen! (Well, in theory. Technically she'd have to give up succession if she "ascends the throne of another state by election, inheritance or marriage without the consent of the monarch and the Government" so she would have to be Queen first, and then she could give herself permission.)

Anyway, it's exciting for us in New York to think about getting our own princess and I wish them the best!
