This is a quite unusual move for a married son and heir of Gui and Stephanie's age and I'm wondering whether rumours of tensions within the Royal House might be behind it. The couple participate in few engagements as it is, and of course the move to London will not improve that.

TLLK

This is an interesting development for the couple.

Curryong

Of course there's speculation from certain quarters that living away from Luxembourg might be so as to be able to consult with fertility experts in London, and access treatment not perhaps available in Lux, as the couple have now been married for about six years with nothing happening in the heir department.
Of course they just might simply want a change and enjoy living in Britain. The Lux RF have partaken of army and educational facilities in London in past years. I just wonder what is behind this as it seems odd.

Blue Clover

Has it been six years? I do wonder why they are moving to London? It does seem odd for an heir to make this move.

I had the exact same thought @Curryong that perhaps this might be an opportunity for the couple to take advantage of this away from the homeland press.

@BlueClover-Yes it will be six years in September! I do recall Haakon and Mette Marit going to stay in the UK while they were both taking courses, but that was before IA was born. (Of course then little Marius went with them.)

The HGD family starring the adorable Prince Charles. :xmas21: The transformation in his parents has been so delightful to see.

Luxembourg?s Prince Charles shines in new Christmas images ? Royal Central

QuoteLuxembourg?s Prince Charles is the star of the show in the new Christmas images that have been shared by the Grand Ducal Court.

The future monarch, who was born in May of this year, is seen with his parents at their home at Fischbach Castle in Luxembourg. His parents, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess St?phanie, beam in the festive images with their baby boy.

Curryong

Yes Charles has certainly been a wonderful addition to the Luxembourg Grand Ducal family and the joy that radiates from his parents since his arrival is wonderful to see. Of course he won't know much about Xmas this year but in 2021 this little fellow will be able to enjoy the Xmas tree, presents, giftwrap tearing and everything else!

Prince Charles is Joy with a capital J!

:snowflake:  Baby Prince Charles highlight of Luxembourg?s 2020 ? Royal Central

QuoteThe Grand Ducal Family?s 2020 may not have started as they had hoped with the investigation into what occurred in the Grand Ducal Court and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa?s involvement. However, by May, the year turned around with the birth of the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple?s longed-for baby, Prince Charles. Let?s take a look at the Grand Ducal Family?s 2020:
Baby Charles has transformed his parents and it's lovely to see how happy and confident they  look now. IMHO they were under a cloud prior to his birth as nearly eight years had passed since their 2012 marriage. Two of Guillaume's cousins had married in the same year as well and their families kept expanding . To witness their joy has been a real delight for me.

Maybe if GD Henri can't find some way of splitting himself in two, one half in Luxembourg and the other half with Teresa Marie in Biarritz, Gui and Steph might be taking over Grand Ducal duties sooner than they think!

I suppose T-M still has the hump over her GDuchess role being cut to virtually nothing and has vowed to stay in Biarritz for the foreseeable future. She always was a little fire cracker, but I think she's burned too many bridges at Cour and with the govt to go back now. Hard to know just what GD Henri will do.

In spite of several all too public affaires in the past he's still devoted to his wife so he won't be living back at Lux fulltime I guess unless she decides to swallow her pride, but I can't see it somehow. They got some criticism for spending Xmas in Biarritz in a time of Covid, but this arrangement really can't go on permanently in a state of animation. I can feel an abdication coming on!

TLLK

@Curryong-I believe that it might be coming earlier than expected but I have to wonder if the timeline that was likely "written" was based upon Gui and Stephanie starting their family earlier than 2020? Another poster at the big site (Thank you big site!) posted the ages of the Luxembourg Grand Dukes/Duchesses and their age at abdication and their heir's age at ascension. We're approaching that time with Henri and Guillaume though I do believe that Henri/MT/the government would like to give the couple some more time with their baby before handing over the throne.

Prince Louis, the third son of GD Henri is engaged to his girlfriend Scarlett-Lauren Sirgue.

Mobile Uploads

He divorced his first wife Tessy in 2019. Tessy also announced her engagement and pregnancy with her partner Frank Flossel earlier this year.

TLLK

Congratulations to Prince Louis and Scarlett-Lauren on their engagement.

Prince Louis of Luxembourg announces engagement ? Royal Central :lovestars:

QuoteThe Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg has announced the engagement of Prince Louis and Scarlett-Lauren Sirgue. A statement on their website reads, ?We are very happy to announce the engagement of our son, Prince Louis, to Miss Scarlett-Lauren Sirgue. Princes Gabriel and Noah join us in surrounding the new couple with all our affection. We wish them immense happiness.?

Prince Louis is the third son of the Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg. He was previously married to Tessy Antony (now known as Tessy Antony de Nassau), and they have two sons together. He gave up his succession rights and those of his descendants upon their marriage.

Louis? fianc? Scarlett-Lauren was born in Bordeaux on 8 August 1991 to lawyers Pierre Sirgue and Scarlett Sirgue (n?e Berrebi). She has an elder sister named Elisabeth and a younger brother named Archibald, who are both mediators. Scarlett-Lauren followed in her parents? footsteps, and she was admitted to the Paris Bar at 23 and was sworn in at 25. She began her career in Family Law but now specialises in Victims? Law with her family?s law firm. Her future husband also works at the same law firm as a mediator.

A date for the wedding has not been set yet.

I notice there is a slight confusion over where Louis works. It may stem from the similar name.

Scarlet-Lauren's parents started a firm in the 80s called Sibe Advocats. Lauren has been working as an attorney for the firm since 2016.

Google Translate

Last year Louis went into business with Archibald and Elizabeth who are both mediators like Louis. Their new company is Sibe mediators. Lauren is a legal consultant for their firm.

Perhaps the two firms are linked, why they share the name Sibe. But they are separate firms.

LouisFerdinand

Is Scarlett-Lauren always referred to as Scarlett-Lauren? Or can she be referred to as Scarlett? Can she be referred to as Lauren?

TudorQueen

Sadly it seems Scarlet-Lauren's mother has passed away in March.

So similar to Stephanie whose mother sadly died 2 months before their wedding. Alix de lannoy at least was alive to see Stephanie get engaged.

Princess Cassandra

Yes, and her daughter was so brave and composed - a credit to her mother.

Happiness in the dark: the Luxembourg year brought the joy we needed in the royal world ? Royal Central

QuoteThe end of the year is fast approaching, marking the end of the second calendar the world spent flipping anxiously while worrying about health safety restrictions.

Despite the uncertainty, it was a year of mostly happy things for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

PrincessOfPeace

Not a good day to be a head of state. The Grand Duke of Luxembourg has tested positive for COVID.
