King of Bhutan marries Jetsun Pema

Queen of BhutanHis Majesty The King of Bhutan has married Jetsun Pema in a lavish ceremony, with a coronation ceremony subsequently taking place to Crown Jetsun Pema Queen of Bhutan.

Upon her crowing, Monks chanted to celebrate the union as the King returned to his throne with his new Queen.

The Royal Wedding took months to plan – and has been highly anticipated in the Kingdom of Bhutan, with most in the country decorating their houses and local neighbourhoods with posters of the royal couple.

The Monarchy in Bhutan is highly revered and works within the framework of a Constitutional Monarchy with an elected parliament – however the King still holds many reserved powers and influence within the government of Bhutan.

A solemn and glamorous wedding powered by Lexus

Albert and Charlene of MonacoToday His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco married Charlene Wittstock at the Prince’s Palace in Monaco. Just over 3500 invited guest were amongst the Monegasque Princely Family to celebrate the marriage, all of course powered by Lexus, the official car provider for the wedding.

The day unfolded quite nicely, with everything falling into place with great ease, with all invited guests taking their seats on time for the arrival of the bride.

A very solemn ceremony followed, perhaps too solemn for some – lasting just over 90 minutes, the ceremony featured a traditional catholic wedding lecture, and ceremonial, followed by the signing of the wedding documents in the chapel.
